Overall Satisfaction with Zoho Creator

We use Creator for the management of our College enrolment process. We have 2 users, myself as the app developer and my PA as the app user. We receive over 500 expressions of interest (EOI) per annum. We use the automation capabilities of ZOHO to manage the enrolment process - initiation (EOI) > applicant providing pre interview information > interview booking > Course selections > Report uploading > Special applications ( Scholarships etc). We have now extended the use of Creator for staff leave management and student course change tracking.
  • Workflow efficiencies: Automated emails triggered by a user response has saved our College a huge amount of time and our users are very impressed about confirmation emails and the immediacy of our 'replies'.
  • Scheduled csv report exports which are then incorporated into our network database, easily.
  • The ability to develop an app which meets the specific needs of any organisation is the clincher. We have spent far too much money on 'off the shelf' IT 'solutions' which always lack the capacity to be adjusted. Creator, true to it's name, enables us to do (nearly) anything that we want to do. The scripting language is intuitive and is easy to learn. (I'm 62 yo and the last time that I wrote script was over 40 years ago - I was a Maths teacher in the interim )
  • None, really. They have gone to a new interface which appears to be trying to be more user friendly. I'm not a fan because the power of ZOHO Creator is the ability to free script or (script builder) , which you can still do, but you need to navigate a dashboard designed for people who should probably look for off the shelf solutions.
  • Again, Creator has allowed the College to make significant savings in workflow practices, clerical administration, photocopying, postage - everything we now do is online. Our efficiencies have been recognised by our users/applicants who view us as a point of differentiation as to how we do business.
  • Negative impact - None!
We use Zoho Survey and while it is better than other similar 'Off the shelf' products it is not in the same league as Creator.
I write this review only because of a sense of paying forward. Creator has allowed us to revolutionise College operations. The streamlining of our workflow practices and error handling have been very significant. Conservatively, the workflow efficiencies achieved have reduced our cleric requirement by more than 1.0 FTE. This particular ZOHO product is sensational! It is value for money, allowed the College to be a market leader (In our industry, at least) and the flexibility enables us to respond to nearly every/any innovative thought.
The deal is that you need someone in your organisation to have the inspiration to make it happen. You need a Creator! (With a very basic inclination/capacity to script.)
