Overall Satisfaction with Zoom

Zoom is being used for video conferencing with people abroad or people working from home. It is particularly useful during the COVID-19 lockdown. We also use it for live online tutorials and seminars or for demonstration sessions. The quality of the sessions is very good and you can use annotations and screen sharing.
  • Highlighting current speaker
  • Annotations
  • Recording session
  • The free version could do with more users per session
  • A free session should be up to 90 minutes instead of 40
  • Working with multiple screens
  • Video conference
  • Demos
  • Working remotely
  • During COVID-19 lockdowns, it kept us up and running
  • Video conferencing was simplified
  • No need for any additional hardware
I found Zoom more user friendly. You can use Zoom without installing and it was easier to integrate with existing hardware and software. Zoom was also much more widely known and used, which made it easier to communicate with people from outside. Personally I liked the quality of the sessions better with Zoom.

Zoom is very good for when someone is at home from work and needs to attend a work-related meeting. It is perfectly suited for demonstrations and live tutorials and can even be used to run a full online course with students from around the world. I have personally attended such a course and enjoyed it tremendously.
