The good, the bad and . . .
No, not really. I had some difficulty with Avalara in the beginning and support was difficult to obtain. I had to go above my customer service representative be get the immediate support we needed. I did attend the Avalara Crush a while after going live and I believe it was extremely important in my knowledge of Avalara. They was a lot of information I learned that I wish had been provided to me when we first implemented as what reports to use to reconcile and how to correct Avatax transactions to reconcile to my general ledger. I also think Avalara online training could be improved. The videos go too fast and don't allow for practice transactions and training materials.

In my experience, for a brief period of time my account manager was helpful but after the sales process was completed, she disappeared. Now, she’s not responsive and doesn’t return emails and, of course, it’s impossible to reach her by phone.

Avalara review
Any single time I have called my dedicated rep, I know I am going to get immediate help. She is very attentive to our needs. We recently did an acquisition, and she reached out to another rep that had more experience in doing these, walked us through the process beforehand, then on the day of, stayed on the phone with us to make sure it was done correctly. They also scheduled a follow up call to make sure everything was working well. I admired that she felt she needed a partner on this and worked to have one when the time came. I also liked that we had a "pre call" to get everything talked through and ready so that the day of, the actions were pretty seamless. Debbie Sweeney-Radice is our dedicated rep.

Explore your options before choosing Avalara
Our first Account Representative, Chad Meszaros, was the best rep we had. He was constantly analyzing our account to see where and what we could benefit from. He was completely transparent in all of the interactions weighing both pros and cons for us. He also took time to organize offsite seminars for his accounts who were located within the same region. We have not had this level of customer service from any account rep since Chad was promoted and our account was handed over to someone else.

I really appreciate that my sales rep keeps in touch. Over the years she has the best advice on how to change my account to suit my current needs and budget. She has helped me to increase the volume of our package when needed but she has also been helpful in scaling back our package when times were lean.

this case happened before the bulk deletion function available. I need to delete a bulk of customers, but already attached with certificate. I don't want to spend so much time to delete one at a time. Contact the support and they helped to delete at their end. Saved me a lot of time.

If you get the right rep on the phone (after waiting over an hour), you might, just might get someone who's pretty awesome. I've had this happen twice but only after escalating multiple times and talking to a product engineer or an unusually knowledgeable rep.

Useable but could use some improvements
The most exceptional support we've received from them was actually during our implementation. It was a well run implementation and we had only a handful of very small errors that were more on our end than theirs.
