Honestly, I am quite happy with my current services with D&B Hoovers. There are some challenges, but more on my end. The company is so big that I cannot necessary make any decisions for the platform on behalf of the whole company. In addition, we potentially have deals in other countries and I was told that we might get one centralized account. Unfortunately, the company is so big that I wonder if this might have been pushed aside. Therefore, I cannot do anything to improve things and when I do reach out on a global scale, it feels like it gets brushed away.

Many consultants in our company look for a new chaselist whenever they start or are looking to expand into a new market. The D&B Hoovers tool helps a lot when it comes to this. In addition, there are requests that want to see how the market is broken down per industry and we tend to use Hoovers's data as a benchmark to see if it would make sense with our specialties.

The data does resonate with what our company needs. In terms of filters, we focus a lot on the industries, as our team tend to be split per specialties. For an example, we have recruiters that focus on blue collar roles and as a result, we would filter for warehousing related industries. In addition, other useful filters include the location from the province to the zip codes.
Unfortunately, we do not use this feature with Hoovers. I tried looking into it once and I believe it is either because we do not have enough lines for this type of download or because we were doubtful on some of the accuracy of the contacts. We really use the Hoovers tool for anything related with companies.

There is a variety of people who has access to the tool. Overall, the tool is to used to identify new opportunities by creating a new chase list of companies to go after. The lists can be based from a geographical or industry stand point and D&B Hoovers has all of this information already. Another usage of the platform could be linked to associating the clients its respective industries. Based on the DUN numbers, we can linked our clients to the appropriate industry. There might be other usages, but this is what I am aware of within my scope.
We do not have anyone in-house supporting us. I believe I have a contact if we do encounter any problems, but the person might be more sales oriented instead of technical. We did have someone else before. I believe her name was Elegrina, but she resigned. Despite that, the replacement was very nice and introduced themselves already.

The D&B tool has really open up new opportunities for us and really helped the business. Additionally, on a personal level, the platform is very easy to use and I never had any problems with it. From there, I was also able to build some interesting analyses that helped me grow within the company and land me where I am today. I do not use it as much as I used to, but I know what I can do with this tool if needed.

When I started working for my company, we already had D&B, so I am not sure who actually purchased it nor did I know how long we had it. I inherit the tool, as there was a time where I was the individual who used it the most in the company.

I do not have any key insights behind the implementation. The limit of 50 words is limiting me from clicking finish, so I will just add more words until I get to this target. Would there be a way to not have limit if we have nothing to say? Thank you
I've never contacted support for this product
I did not purchase the premium support. It is quite hard to get anything new or changed within the account. The company is quite big and it is hard to tell if we might have something on a global stand point. Last time we had some discussions, it was postponed, as someone higher up mentioned that he was communicating with someone else.
I've never requested for support, so unfortunately, I do not have a story to tell.
Whenever I had to use D&B hoovers, I never had a hard time with getting what I need. Additionally, when I show the tool to others, they tend to understand the platform quite quickly. The tool itself is very good and straightforward when I use it to help me put analyses together.

Great tool for building prospect lists in certain geographies and industry segments. However additional filters on for example company revenue or a number of employees quickly reduce the list of prospects because for a large group of companies this information is missing or not accurate.

The basic company data is okay. It however lacks an accurate company description, as many are automated based on industry SIC code. Also, more detailed fields on company profiling are missing.

D&B is one of our best tools to identify, enrich, enhance our account data, duns numbers and all the related fields. I use it daily and it is great to improve the quality of our data. Account hierarchy, Duns, Immediate parent duns, domestic ultimate DUNS and Global Ultimate DUNS numbers are very important fields to be populated.

Avention is being used to bring in new business to our organization. It is used across the whole organization. It doesn't address any business problems, really, as most of the information can be found through extensive intel searches on our own. However, having Avention makes it easier to obtain the information as it's in one central location.
  • It provides names of the decision makers (very important)!
  • It shows the parent company and lists the locations of all the subsidiaries.
  • It allows us to create filters and lists for our research, which is really helpful.
  • What's really needed is email addresses for the decision makers.
  • I don't like the white background as it's difficult to read the information. The contrasting colors of grey make it even more difficult.
  • Avention should use deeper colors as a background and contrast with brighter colors in the font/text. It would make the perusing of the information easier on my eyes!

  • The positive impact is that I'm able to obtain company information (most of the time) within minutes, thus, saving me an exorbinate amount of time.
  • The negative impact is that some of the information is incorrect, e.g., addresses, websites, and there aren't email addresses for the decision makers.

Industry reports and they do meet my needs.
They are terrific at giving instruction/webinars. I am able to call, directly, to an individual and talk to that person. I'm not talking to a robot. They give personal service which is really special.
The only times I can think of are the classes I took, which were most beneficial.
