Fully remote job made easy with Slack!

convenient tool for communication with teammates
- easier communication
- voice messages
- increased efficiency
- notifications have issues
- voice recording transcripts are not accurate
Slack : The best official communication tool
- Communication with members of a project ( via channels features where you can create specific dedicated groups for project members only)
- Third-party app integration ( Integration with Asana, Gmail, Jira, GIFy, etc.)
- Daily Huddles - This has been one of the latest addition to the features, and this has been liked by all of our team members. It makes running daily huddles super easy, considering the WFH environment that we are in.
- UI - User interface is generic, and I believe Slack has a huge room for improvement to make it more interactive and friendly.
- If you use the search option on Slack, it gives results from open groups as well. Since the groups are open and not locked, it's okay to display the results, but I feel those results should not appear as there might be some of the pre-development confidential ideas which are not supposed to be shared with a large audience.
- Display of Profile status - Currently, you have to hover over the profile to know the status, but it would be quite useful if we have a small line just below the name, and it appears during the conversation too. The reason I feel it would be a good change is because we use it to display our leaves as well, and if the status is visible easily, people can know about our availability
A big missing feature is that you do not have an option to follow up on a task or message that you might have starred/flagged. It would be really helpful if we had the To-Do list and follow-up option.
Slack is a great collaboration tool - be sure your culture can maintain communication discipline!
- Collaboration
- Quick communication
- Integration workflows
- Slack desktop is slow when changing channels
- Searching is sluggish and could use improvement
- Needs more controls over statuses, alerts, and a focus mode
Slack for a good communication experience
- ease of use
- nice layout
- many options
- phone app
- alerts
- status
An indispensable tool for Power Users
- Channels for discussions
- Ability to remind and schedule messages
- Ability to deal with multiple communities
- Huddle often has some or the other issue with respect to connectivity
- Searching within threads can be nightmare. Message which are several weeks old are really hard to find.
- The FTUX can be better. Hard to find keyboard shortcuts for frequently used functions.
For smaller team sizes say less than 100, the level of complexity offered may not add enough value. Also, for folks who do not use extensions and plug-ins, there are several low-cost solutions.
I can't imagine life without Slack.
1. We have client channels where we can discuss work, share learnings, share media coverage, etc
2. Sometimes we have shared channels with clients and/or additional vendors directly
3. Internal channels that range from practical, like HR announcements, to fun, like sharing family, pets, travel.
4. DMs, of course, to faciliate fast and easy questions, etc
- Organize threads of project content - WAY easier than having multiple emails
- Provide the ability for others to observe communication on projects or topics that they aren't directly involved in
- Create a space to share universal business announcements
- Create spaces for topics that are fun
- We have issue with people not posting on main topics in the comment thread- which can cause things to get disorganized. Not sure how you can help change this user behavior, though. Could we move the location of a comment?
- We're a small business and it's mostly self-serve - but I would like to encourage our tech lead to revisit tips and tricks every now and then to make sure people are making the most of it. I bet there are features we don't even realize are there. Seems like something you could also email individual users?
- My channel list gets VERY long, and some are dormant for long periods of time but I don't want to get rid of them. Again, I think there are solutions but when you're working fast against a high volume of demands it just gets overwhelming. Is there maybe a prompt you could build in to remind us to put quiet channels in another section or something like that?
Communication and discussion made easier
2. Opening threads for the communication
3. Announcements Channels for company wide messages
4. Way to view the alerts
5. Support channel for helping the users
6. Requests channel to requests various services
7. Integration with Gitlab to view the status of Task and Merge requests
- Communication
- Save for later features
- Notifications
- Threads maintaining
- Notification support in Ubuntu like Mac
- Huddle UI can be easier to use
Organization level isolation
Quick huddle option when needed
Good message editor which helps to add emojis, gif, threads, pics, videos
Sharing the message is much easier
Groups are easier to maintain
Pinned messages are much easy to help to find the important message
Later messages are nice and can be used to save some important messages to be replied later
- Ease of use
- Speed and efficiency
- Customer service
- No downtime
- Variety of ways to interact and connect
- Multiple tools for collaboration beyond messaging
- Quick video/voice chats through Huddle feature that work really well
- Too many features tied to Enterprise level
- Expand the Later feature for better project management
- Multiple tiers of Slack AI for those that can't afford what is there currently (which is more than the cost of the Pro plan itself). Teams AI is way cheaper
- Native survey feature instead of relying on third-party
- Video conferencing that can be scheduled, similar to Teams or Zoom. Huddles are great, but in order to replace Teams entirely, this is critical
Best solution for team communication!
- Team messaging
- Quick file sharing
- Scheduling messages
- Apps and integrations
- Open audio spaces
- Instant channel creation
- Temporary data chats
- Easy to use
- Integration with systems
- Pre-schedule messages to get items off my plate
- I would like to create more dynamic Polls within sub-groups
- Groups are limited to 9 people and you're forced to create a channel. Sometimes, that isn't the greatest approach
- The external connections feature is a little difficult to set up
Best tool for messages
- Direct Communication between people
- Separates your work-life messages
- Keeps history of conversations and files
- Integration with bots and other platforms
- Threads
- Automations
- The order of chats and channels
The only thing that bothers me in the platform is the system of threads, where you can easily lose the messages cause they look kind of hidden. If you have multiple subjects with someone and the person only responds in threads, it's very common to lose their messages.
Slack has been very helpful in improving my productivity
We use Slack for ad-hoc communications, we huddle atleast 3-4 times in a day for quicker and detailed meetings. Slack has been very helpful in the last 3 years of my remote work life in maintaining the communications flowing. I use notes feature a lot to save important information accessible to everyone in the channel.
- Setting up quick meetings via huddle is the favorite feature. It instantly opens door for quick and ad-hoc communications very well and is a pretty useful feature.
- I am using notes feature recently very often to keep track of the important action items for the day, saving key credentials that are to be shared across the teams and I replaced my personal dm for storing drafts with the notes functionality.
- Catch-up feature on the desktop app is also pretty useful to quickly go through all the pending messages and very thoughtful feature from Slack, it keeps me upto date and saves time at the start of the day.
- Remind me later is something I use pretty often, I may not be able to work on that but definately wants to go through it in detail and respond, then this feature comes very handy to keep check on such messages and helps us not get lost especially when working across teams.
- I observed that when a huddle is initiated and if the other person joins right instatly it sometimes won't establish the connection and I could not be heard by the others or viceversa and often requires them to rejoin.
- Searching also becomes a bit challenging, it would be good if there's a date range filter to check the messages from a specific date range as often times it's very hard to find those months back messages.
- Despite Slack helping for ad-hoc meetings and quick un-planned conversation, it would be good if there's an option to set-up automated recurring meetings like we have daily stand-ups for that we had to set-up a google calendar invite just that it sends remiders and keep things organised. Fun fact we still use huddle to make these stand-up calls but google calendar is used to remind us of this as a placeholder.
- I read about AI integration but yet to experience it, otherwise having an AI bot to help around within Slack could really help, currently before sending important messages I am taking the content to gemini or chatgpt for corrections and correctness and pasting it back on Slack, an integrated AI system would help in getting this done within the Slack.
Slack: Communication and integration made Easy!
- Integration with 3rd party apps
- Send Files
- Chat
- User interface can be improved
- Search Functionality within chat
- Video buffering issue
Best collaborative tool to enhance your business

- voice during the call breaks need to be improved
- Slack channel engagement
- joining people in the call
- Multiple projects group can be created and managed seamlessly
- Ease of communication between different project stakeholders
- Ease of sharing files and linking with external softwares like jira
- One major issue i encountered multiple times was in receiving the OTP while creating an account. It takes too much time, and sometimes the verification OTP didn't even come the whole day on the mentioned email id.
Use Slack - To communicate and collaborate effectively
- UI is very user friendly and intuitive
- Huddle feature in Slack saves a lot of time in organizing and sharing links to connect. It comes as a saviour especially when adhoc calls are needed for short durations.
- Ability to segment groups based on your criteria.
- Huddle while a great feature often has issues in terms of connectivity. At least once a week, I face an issue when I am not able to hear the other person or vice versa. Slack can work on improving this further.
- Slack should have an option to add color to FONTS or increase or decrease the font size. I sometimes feel that I have to use the CODE option to mark lines in RED that need attention.
Slack - Communication and Collaboration Excellence
- I can see the entire history of all the messages I ah exchanged with a person. I can also have access to all the files we have shared between each other.
- It helps me create groups which facilitates collaboration between multiple stakeholders.
- I can huddle anyone at anytime and the audio is very clear. I have the ability to share my screen as well, which is very helpful.
- I can set reminders to messages and Slack reminds me about them.
- Slack needs to have a task management tool also. This would be very helpful to keep track of my tasks as well as keep a check on my team members tasks.
- I am not aware of many of the automations that can be used in Slack. Conducting educational sessions and providing demos about features would help in adoption of them.
- Sometimes huddle does not work as expected. I witness some glitches where my screen is not shared. But this happens rarely.
