Acumbamail vs. ReachMail

Acumbamail is a newer email marketing tool that has plenty of room to grow, but they are off to a fantastic start. Setting up my first email list was super easy and intuitive. Creating broadcasts is straightforward, as are landing pages. And the automation flows that are built in are incredible. The biggest downside is some of the documentation being in Spanish. It's easy enough to translate but still slows you down. That said, I'm really looking forward to growing with Acumbamail!

The free Reachmail account (which I have used for several small organizations) is a good tool where there are limited or zero email marketing dollars, a contact audience of up to 5,000 subscribers, and a max of 15,000 monthly emails. The pricing levels are really reasonable for volume requirements, including custom plans for infrequent mailings. If there are constraints (time and/or design experience) that require a large choice of ready-made contemporary templates without graphic or font modifications, then this probably isn't a good email marketing tool.

• The online support is excellent, but the written support is sometimes in Spanish.
• Setting up your account for better email deliverability takes some time.
• It's a newer program, so there is definitely some room for improvement in the user interface.

Acumbamail is still in its infancy, so it's not fair to compare it to ConvertKit, which has been around for a while, but Acumbamail is very similar in its setup. In some ways, its automation look to be a lot more straightforward. I'm really hoping they'll be able to grow Acumbamail into a killer product!

In the past I've used both Salesforce and QuotaFactory (now defunct) to send mass emails and both are far superior in presentation, if not functionality. Reachmail is probably fine when you have graphical content but for text emails it just doesn't stack up. I'll look into other options now that I've tried Reachmail and see that is a terrible option for sales teams.

• Still too early to tell, but down the road, the impact of having a good mailing list will be enormous!

• Using ReachMail saves me a lot of time, and time is money.
• When I have a question, I can usually reach their customer service immediately, instead of having to postpone a mailing campaign.
