ADP
[ADP Mobile Solutions is] appropriate for when your at home and you need to request time off. It's also nice to see your benefits that you elected and be able to do open enrollment for benefits via the app. They can see their paystubs and their W2's and your able to print or email those documents to yourself.

Vacation Tracker
It is good for basic increment usage. It was less appropriate for biweekly pay periods and for when work days are technically 7.5 hours with 1 hour unpaid lunch. It got kinda whacky with the numbers then since the concept of a day varied. It was great for transparency between employer and employee in terms of knowing how much PTO one has and how it was previously used. Good for history

Pros
ADP
  • I love the basic login functionality. Other apps make you type in your username, password and then some additional information like what is your first pets name. For this - once I pull up the App my username is already there and I just need to add in my password. It only saves a few minutes but sometimes that is the difference between signing in and doing it on a desktop later.
  • I also love the basic text. For other mobile apps the verbiage they use was their own. I'm not sure if they were trying to be fancy but ADP uses basic terms for the information it shows. To me it made my first few uses of it super simple.
  • Reporting is really good. It shows graphs for how I was paid and if I click on a graph it gives more detail. Just really smooth. It makes you feel like they really paid attention to the user experience and didn't over complicate things.

Cons
ADP
  • ADP's HR products could be more affordable for small businesses. The quality of the products is good. With enough employees the value they provide makes sense, but with fewer employees, it's more than you need and the price isn't justified.
  • ADP Time and Attendance was not able to be customized to the operations of my company. With retail locations organized under separate legal entities, but sharing employees across locations, the product was not setup to accommodate this to accurately track employees hours without double-paying or causing confusion.

Usability
ADP
The usability seems very intuitive, as we turn more features on we are continually impressed. As we roll out features to our employees, it is very user-friendly, and most users have little to complain about. I would recommend a training module when someone first downloads the app, to have a few training screens before logging in to help those less familiar with application technology. Other than that recommendation, the app has been great.

Because it did not serve us in the sense that our work day is 7.5 hours long. Otherwise, I liked how transparent it was between employer and employee. We wish it had a better way of working with 7.5 hour work days. It was easy to sign up and to introduce but ended up not being the right fit

Support Rating
ADP
I've never really had to use the support for ADP mobile, so I would say that it is a great reason to give a good score. I believe the support that is put into keeping the application up to date and keeping the functionality of the application must be a focus of ADP, which is nice to see.

ADP
While I was not responsible for the platform selection, ADP has a much better interface. The tools available help in accessing payroll data for several pay periods easily. The data is easy to interpret and consume without the need to open every pay slip. Also the data is available almost instantaneously.

We thought it was friendly and simple which it is but the issue with the time increments made it quite tricky to use. It is a lot more simplified than what we have used in the past as it really just tracks PTO and nothing else which is nice. However, the issue with our work day being 7.5 hours was not something that Vacation Tracker worked well with. If that changed then I would be much more open to looking into it again.

Return on Investment
ADP
  • We have not had real test of the impact yet since we have not been able to roll out to our pest management techs.
  • I believe that if we keep trying to educate our employees on how to access and use the mobile solutions app we will see more positive feedback because of the ease of access to their information.
