Storylane
If you are looking to make simple, guided demos to easily demonstrate product UI and workflows, Storylane is a great choice. You need to be ready to invest a lot more heavily if you'd like to provide a sandbox experience that will allow users to navigate around the whole UI with full linking and interactive onscreen elements.

  • AI voiceovers are fantastic and a great, free addition

Cons

Storylane
  • The relationship between "pages" and "steps" can get very confusing if you are having to do a mass revamp of a saved story.
  • Some of the interface is less than intuitive than it could be.
  • I'm not a fan of mouse over features, I realize it is a modern metaphor, but it's a bad one.

Storylane
Storylane makes it really easy to get started with getting a bunch of slides in quickly and a general framework, but it's a little bit more tedious to go through slide by slide and make sure that everything is set up the way you wanted. The initial AI verbiage is usually trash for my needs, but the AI verbiage re-write is good (after I've written the first draft). I like the automatic timer move-forward option, but you cannot do a bulk edit across all slides. Although you can set a default timer across all slides, you can't bulk remove all that you have already entered, and you can't view which ones are already in there without clicking into every single slide and guide

InVision was previously used, it went away entirely. Figma seemed more developer focused vs use cases for presales

  • I cannot attest to the ROI as I created Storylanes for my company shortly before making a career change. I anticipate that it will shorten the sales cycle as it will help champions convince decision makers who were not present during a live demo.
