Amazon CloudFront vs. Azure CDN vs. Microsoft Entra ID

Amazon CloudFront is the perfect solution for any type of company. If a company is small or medium size, CloudFront offers 1 TB monthly free bandwidth which is more than for any small and medium size companies. If we compare the speed of CloudFront with other CDN, CloudFront is way ahead of their competitors and with 1 TB free bandwidth. If someone is ready to invest time in CloudFront documentation then he/she definitely go for it.

That one is tough. It's just easy to integrate the sign-on portion with other products from other companies. Like BluePoint or Podint. It's very easy to integrate the user information with others. Using Android ID to register an application with other companies' applications.

• I found the CDN very easy to setup and configure within the Azure Portal.
• Being Azure, there are plenty of free tools that allow you to manage the CDN from a UI that is not the portal. This was especially handy when I trained end users how to manage content within their specific realm.

• The first thing is that it's a really good platform to make a whole inventory of your hardware and software that you already have in the organization. It's very simple. It's very easy to look at what you have in the whole organization. And after that, start applying, for instance, some policies, some solutions in terms of zero trust access using MFA as a second form of authentication. • There is one thing that we lost since we migrated from Active Directory and it is the user expiration date. If I have an external that I know will work for six months, I have to manually check or put some kind of reminder. I cannot set an expiration date in Microsoft Entra ID. I still don't know why.

MSFT Entra ID has been essential for managing our geographically dispersed team. We're confident that it will scale with us as grow, and we'll be able to take advantage of additional security and ID management features as they become necessary. Being able to centrally manage our user access from anywhere with a small support team is such a relief.

It's not complex. It works as configured, right? There's a lot of granular rules, and it'll get very specific if you need it to. But for many of our security capabilities, especially for mid-market enterprises, I think you can get all the capabilities you typically need with OnStar.

CloudFront is a good CDN solution. It can be a bit complicated to implement depending on your needs, but AWS tech support is great. You get to avoid a ton of upfront costs by going with CloudFront. It works best in conjunction with other AWS services in your infrastructure. Once you set it up, you won't need to do much to maintain it. It just works.

Make sure you use a good partner. Our implementation was a bit longer and more problematic than we expected. Our partner got it done, but, in my opinion, some of their inexperience and staffing issues were evident.

Amazon has always been creative and leading, and I have been using its services for years. They are very reassuring and have fast and responsive support--you can call them from any time zone to respond quickly. High security on servers, open hands on changes, and increasing and decreasing server resources and features.

More user friendly and it’s so easy to learn, the prices may be close to each other, but the service is excellent.

Microsoft Entra ID is not as stand-alone product as competitors like Okta. It may lack some of the features that competing products have but on the other hand it integrates both technically and license wise with other Microsoft cloud services and is easy to deploy. It is also the easiest way to extend identity management to the cloud if you already have Microsoft Active Directory in use.

• RoI for using CloudFront is immense. You can use it for all your certificate management and static asset management of your websites using CloudFront.
• It is as good or better than any other CDN provider with multi-region support across the world using AWS regions.

• Azure CDN reduced origin instance load by removing the need to constantly serve large numbers of static files, meaning applications can be deployed with smaller/fewer instances.
• Azure CDN reduces apparent load times to customers by serving cached files out of POPs in the local region of those clients, instead of requiring those clients to make multiple, lengthy requests through to the origin servers.

• Definitely, I can consider this one a positive because, as I mentioned earlier, it's a tool that can help our internal ID team track end users' activities in their sign-in logs and a lot of other things, which is really good and helpful for us.
