Chose Aventri
We loved CVENT and DoubleDutch, but it was much easier to have all the modules we needed in one platform, which happened to be Aventri.
Chose Aventri
I have only gone through demos of other products as we switched over from a custom product prior to Aventri. The biggest reason we selected Aventri is the malleability of the product, along with their amazing customer support. Their pricing is also extremely competitive, and …
Chose Aventri
I have not used CVENT but I know about them. They are double the price of Aventri and offer the same type of product. They have more integrations (like lead sourcing), however.
Chose Aventri
eTouches was selected for the integrated package, lower cost per registrant, no limitations on web pages, availability of exhibit sales module. It can handle the complexity of our client programs very easily. eTouches tells us we are "power users ;-)".
Chose Aventri
SignUp4 was our previous service and performed well. It wasn't until after it shuttered that we realized how much more could be provided. Cvent (which absorbed SignUp4) provided many of the old solutions but at a significantly higher price. In the end, it seemed more suited …

Sympla or Eventbrite are great for smaller events that don't require a lot of information from your audience or extensive communication from your event owner. They are better suited for those events, since they are easy and quick to set up.

Chose Certain Event Automation Software
My company selected Certain and continues to use Certain because it is quick, easy, and efficient. We create up to 20 registration links a year and Certain allows us to create templates to copy and create annual event links very fast. I also love that there is someone there to …

I believe Aventri has a big learning curve, so if you are short on time, I would recommend hiring someone who already has experience. We had a few months, but making changes took a while because only two staff members had time to figure out and learn the system. I don't think the website is very user-friendly, but I don't think it's so hard that the average worker cannot learn it. We happened to be short on time so learning the system was an added stress that would not normally be there.

Certain is great for easy-to-use registration sites. It collects all information and user can upload reports easily. It's great to copy the event if you are doing an annual one where the information doesn't drastically change. I love being able to create the link in under an hour and send it out to all attendees. I can also send one large email out to all participants

Pros
  • Manages class size limits very well.
  • Provides information for hotel booking and transfers so that all this information is in one record.
  • Unlimited number of pages for the website is invaluable - we looked at other programs with only 4 pages for the website and that just isn't enough for our clients.

  • Easy to use and create
  • Easy to pull reports once event has been sent to attendees
  • Great way to gather a lot of information

Cons
  • Mobile app does not allow for video advertisements.
  • The day the event is scheduled to be over in Aventri it clears from your list and it makes getting reporting and analytics difficult after the event is over.

  • Dashboards: It's quite important for leadership to get a visual of what their event registrants look like (with graphs, for example). Now, Certain does not present a feature to create dashboards, so we have to export their reports and create our dashboards ourselves.
  • UX when setting up an event: Now this can be quite complex, as it's not as easy to use or intuitive. Many different tabs with many different sub-items can present a confusing experience for newcomers when building an event.

Support Rating
I had a few issues while onsite (over the weekend). The support information given to me was incorrect and I had a hard time tracking down how to get assistance while onsite (on a weekend). When you are onsite, issues are usually heightened and need an immediate response, and I didn't get that.

Alternatives Considered
SignUp4 was our previous service and performed well. It wasn't until after it shuttered that we realized how much more could be provided. Cvent (which absorbed SignUp4) provided many of the old solutions but at a significantly higher price. In the end, it seemed more suited for very large events more so than the size we normally run. Thus we chose eTouches to supplant SignUp4.

Sympla or Eventbrite are great for smaller events that don't require a lot of information from your audience or extensive communication from your event owner. They are better suited for those events, since they are easy and quick to set up. Certain comes in for your tradeshows or recurring events, since it presents a calendar view of your field marketing events, as well as full form customization, automation of email sequences, reporting, etc. It's more complex to use, so you might as well hand it over to people who are well used to setting up events.

Return on Investment
  • Much more thorough reporting than previous provider.
  • The ability for long term goal creation based on the objectives evaluated post conference.
  • Certain helps to deliver a great customer experience, since it facilitates automatic email delivery and your company can keep them connected well before or well after an event.
  • Certain presents a wide variety of reports, which perfectly addresses any request for visibility coming from your organization.
  • Certain's configuration settings are quite complex, so our newcomers are not comfortable using the software at first.
  • In case you need a more visual representation of your audience, Certain, unfortunately, does not generate dashboards.
