Chanty is very good for networking messaging and low level collaboration between peers and colleagues. It's not great for video or voice calls or whiteboarding or file sharing.

  • With the automation we are notified ahead on licencing expirations to renew and systems to upgrade to stay current.
  • We track our progress on our professional development to improve our skillsets.
  • On multi-member projects it allows each member to add input to keep all on that team current on progress on a particular project.
  • Our company has boards for each service area that we all can access to learn about other teams on an overall viewpoint.
  • This allows different areas of our company collaborate on joint projects easily.

  • Biggest Con - Adding seats to monday.com
  • Let me elaborate, my largest frustration with monday.com is that for my current departments I currently pay for a plan with a specific amount of seats. In order to add the last member of all my departments, I would need to double the number of seats for that upgrade.
  • My opinion for improvement is monday.com should have their current plans set as normal but have their user amount flexible and not set in blocks of seats.
  • Additionally, monday.com does not have a free membership plan. I would suggest they begin to offer a Free Membership Plan for 1 user.
  • The hardest part of customer acquisition is getting the customers to discover you, and the easier you make it to sign on/stay on without risk the more likely they will expand their plan when their company is ready. This is especially true for new/small businesses that may be scraping by with their startup costs.
  • Second Biggest Con - Moving Items/Tickets to different boards (Whether Manual or Automated).
  • The reason this is such a big bane for my setup is solely due to how many subitems I will have on tickets. Subitems do not currently transfer, but I believe they have it on their roadmap already. So updates, files, and progress history for all those sub-items are just gone.
  • Hosted Exchange Email Integrations - Outlook only connects to normal emails or their Office365 business emails. Hosted Exchange Email Integrations are not currently supported if your business utilizes them.
  • Slack Integration - Only one issue I've come across for this, You can only set updates to send to a specific user on slack or a specific channel on slack. Yes, this can be set per item/ticket or as a blanket rule for all updates.
  • What I would like to see improved is the ability to send the update to slack users by recognizing if they were @'d in the update. This use case works best for projects with multiple users on the same items.
  • (It's not terrible that it doesn't, users will still receive email updates if they were @'d I believe)

I usually rate everything on a scale of how easy it is to use, by comparing it to apple or windows. Apple is built to be very user-friendly and gives people a nice interface to work with that makes things very intuitive, and windows I feel is not for that purpose.... so for usability, on a scale of apple to windows, I would say that this is an apple. It is so intuitive and user-friendly and anyone can adopt the use it, it doesn't take a genius or a youtube video in order to learn about it, it's pretty straightforward and to the point.

I have been sent quite a few emails about functionality and support on a pretty regular basis, which is great. I have not had any need to contact support as the platform is pretty simple to use, it was easy to download and install and I have not encountered any bugs or other issues so far.

We have not needed to use customer support since joining Monday.com two months ago. The guides and videos available on the site have enabled us to quickly answer any questions we may have had. We do love the fact that they are available 24/7 and we have our own dedicated CSM.

We signed up for the accounts. Created the accounts. Ran the trial version and tested it live while we were running multiple projects and found that it was fitting our needs perfectly. When the trial ended and we were asked to purchase the full version, we did. We have found other ways to use it and it's a breeze.

In terms of file sharing and speed of collaboration, I find that Slack is quicker and integration into Google Drive is very handy when it comes to working on documents, I have not seen Chanty do this. As for video Google Hangouts is as simple as it gets; again, I have not seen anything from Chanty in this area. I have also looked at and use https://guild.co/ which is much easier messaging and collaboration wise. The app and notification for Chanty is pretty good but it's loading time is slower compared to Slack and WhatsApp.

We used an excel spreadsheet to track our month end close process previously which created a lot of issues around only one person being able to be in the checklist at any given time. Additionally, we were unable to have excel notify us when a task we need to have completed was done, but Monday.com has completely changed that for us!
