Cisco Multicloud Defense vs. DataMotion

For WAF functionality and delivery of websites, It's very well suited for traditional firewalling, if you're doing that already, it can be quite difficult to rearchitect everything around this product. So an example of that would be if, like us, you came from a datacenter style architecture within your cloud environment and you are trying to move to a more cloud-fronted architecture. Probably the best way to put it is that can be quite difficult, but once you've deployed, it gets easier operationally. So to kind of reverse engineer everything and then do everything again can be quite tedious in some ways. But that will be specific to people depending on where they're coming from with it.

The Datamotion Secure Mail plug-in can be installed and used in Outlook while sending mail. In the search category, if you keep SecureMail 500 Admin and hit go, you can see how many admins there are. You can also see how many users there are and the license consumption.

• DLP monitoring - key item for us which helps to view if anything which should leave our environment our or even between each part of network between/inside specific clouds
• Segmentation of subnet, basic but helpful to isolate each host into their own part of single subnet and connect them, including all visibility features which are offered by Cisco defense systems
• Allow/deny rules helps us to block, monitor and logs traffic passing in each direction of our environment

• Platform is intuitive and very easy to use from both a receiver and sender of the email.
• The "open" and/or "read" notifications serve as great documentation that a client has successfully seen and obtained the information that was being provided.
• The ability to include a simple link within an email signature prevents clients from having to go through a cumbersome portal or process to send a document securely.

• The ability to see traffic flowing and identify malicious traffic is amazing.
• The ease of setting up the connections of the cloud platforms is perfect.
• Dynamic based security policies allow for better protection.
• I don't have any detailed examples of improvement so instead I highlighted a couple of aspects that make the solution amazing.

• The address book interface to add users could be made simpler
• The copy and paste feature could be improved
• When composing an email the system should automatically search address book to provide less typing of Contact names already existing as a send to the person

We have more testing to do before we decide if we will make a final decision to use the product as we believe we would also implement datamotion for the acquisitions we have planned for this year

The DataMotion SecureMail's best feature according to me is simply that it performs as promised with an immediate reduction in spam which has led to spam-related queries to the IT department practically non-existent. DataMotion SecureMail is pretty robust and hands off which is great.

As of yet I havent logged a TAC case - It will be interesting to see how it is supported as a new product in the medium term

Responses always seem timely and the support seems to be pretty good. We haven't really had any major issues with the software yet, so I that's the reason I gave only an 8. If something more difficult were to pop up, I'd have a little more to say on the support for the product.

Make sure to break up the implementation in phases

Cisco Multicloud Defense, Crowd Strike Falcon, and Arctic Wolf Cloud Posture Security Management System as a service SAAS platforms are very comparable platforms. Unfortunately for Croud Strike, they had a mishap recently that caused major downtime for many companies worldwide. I do not think that you would have to worry about this happening with Cisco Multicloud Defense.

We can not afford Cisco products; in the end, everything we require is on the software side, not the hardware side. Also, we are trying to move away from these bulky appliance-type concepts of secure documentation and communication integrations. This federated easy, fast and multi-disciplinary API systems DataMotion has provided us is precisely what we need.

Ridiculous question. It’s scalable and that is why we would want to use it

• The insight that it provides allows us to move away from other tools and just utilize the Cisco Multicloud Defense.
• Insights into data usage provides tangible analytics.
• Ease of management and use allows for less in-depth and specialized training.

• DataMotion has had a positive return on investment due to the fact that we have to post less, avoid postal fees, and ensure security.
• DataMotion has decreased the amount of compliance required when sending out information; when posting documents, we would have previously had to have documents checked by compliance for security, but now we can issue these clients directly.
• Everyone in the company uses DataMotion; this has saved both time and money because of the decreased number of letters being drafted; it has created a more efficient workforce and boosted productivity.
