Contentful vs. Jadu CMS

It's a great all rounder for content projects. It's easy in the basics and powerful in the complex, data heavy scenarios. Extending the platform is straightforward and the SDK gives you everything you need. If you have many many varying content types , it gets expensive and perhaps not the best choice .

The power of Jadu is incomparable. The set of features provided by alternative solutions like Drupal just don't stand up to Jadu. Jadu is continuously working on development and adding new tools. They even recently started releasing bi-weekly updates. We find it to be perfect for managing large websites, even if you have thousands of pages.

• Flexible. This CMS can be easily extended and provide access to dynamic content
• Simple. The WYSWG is very easy to work with and identifying pages and content in the system is fairly easy
• Clean Interface. The interface is clean and uncluttered keeping focus on the content and not other factors.

• Reliability. The LAMP-powered server/software rarely has any problems and can handle hundreds of concurrent users without issue. It was developed with scalability in mind.
• Ease of Use. Our users find the backend GUI very easy to use. The layout is intuitive and follows the same format throughout the entire control panel.
• Powerful. Even if it doesn't do something you would like it to out of the box, the code is well formatted and easy to customize.

• Contentful uses "references" to allow you to build very modular content. If I have a "slider" content type, I can create a "slide" content type which references a "button" content type, and so forth. This works well, but I occasionally wish there was a better solution for one-off content, like a settings page. Currently, this is done for creating an entire content type called "settings" with a single entry. Not a big deal, but not ideal, either.
• There are a few quirks with GatsbyJS integration, etc, but these issues are being fixed and improved upon very quickly.
• A minor gripe, but Contentful does not have a way to organize fields within an entry. Entries with many fields are somewhat tiresome to scroll through.

• The custom HTML editor can be frustrating
• Does not provide advanced controls and looks as well as some competitors
• Menus to add media content are litigious and require many clicks

We recently migrated to Jadu and will not be leaving any time soon. As we learn more and more about how to effectively utilize all the feature we are happier with the end result that the product provides. Our journey with Jadu is still growing but the future is looking bright.

It is a very easy to use and configure application. I find that it is on the user to manage the content after the models have been created, yet I still do not encounter issues finding or creating new components for our site. It is easy to set up and easy to navigate.

For the common user, Jadu is very easy to use and to understand. For the more complex user/administrator, there's a lot of power to be harnessed in HTML editing, creating widgets, editing styles, creating workflows, and other advanced features Jadu can work up for the customer.

For custom solutions, Contentful blows every other CMS I've used out of the water. Unlike WordPress, there's no clutter to wade through, and you can simply build the infrastructure you need. It's more secure by far, and works seamlessly with modern frontend technologies, like GatsbyJS. In contrast to website builders like Squarespace and Wix, Contentful gives developers (like myself) free range to create high-quality, unique, scalable frontends that aren't limited by preexisting design and layout structures.

I was not part of the team that evaluated other products during the CMS search. I did however use our old CMS from Luminis, which was not a great product. It's almost not fair comparing the two products because Jadu blew it out of the water. I do know that our company researched several companies and felt that Jadu was the company that would suit our needs the best.

• Contentful has saved us valuable development time that was previously spent doing deploys for minor content updates.
• Contentful has helped us maintain consistent documentation, reducing time needed to review for consistency.
• Can't say we've really experienced any negative ROI impacts from using Contentful, but we've run into some limitations in adding too many content models and the next pricing tier is substantially more expensive.

• Jadu have forced us to spend more time figuring out new ways around it database. We have actually turn to updated json files by hand because of how bad the system is for widget.
• Jadu has cost us a lot of time just waiting for pages to load.
