So far it is still the best password manager I have used and between my partner and I we have used about 8 different options and liked Dashlane Password Manager above all the others so when we went into business together we consolidated on Dashlane and haven't looked back. We've added more users, some family, some temporary and its all been great

Pros
Dashlane
  • Safely store passwords that I couldn't remember and wouldn't feel comfortable storing them in physical or any digital document.
  • Most sites auto-fill in usernames and passwords, and where it's not able to grab the right information, I can easily copy and paste it from the browser extension.
  • Simple to use.

  • The virtual RSA token for multiple devices makes it easy to avoid needing a physical device
  • The ability to leverage real-time analytics to identify when step-up is required

Cons
Dashlane
  • Needs an easier way to browse through lots of passwords. Scrolling to find passwords in the middle of the alphabet is hard when you have hundreds. Would love to jump to letters or expand/collapse sections.
  • Finding passwords is sometimes difficult. Since you can't search across fields (seems it will only search one field at a time), you can't have multiple passwords with the same title, but different user name and search for something like "title username". It doesn't work. This, again, makes it difficult when managing lots of passwords for an organization -- it's probably fine for individual users with personal accounts, but not for a business.
  • Sometimes Dashlane randomly duplicates entries (no idea why) and you have to try and make sure they really are the same before deleting one (or you might remove a needed password).
  • Syncing is sometimes slow. I can save a password on desktop, then go to my phone and have to manually sync in each to get it to show up -- don't know what could be done to speed this up.
  • I miss the desktop app on Windows. It resolved some of the above issues and I didn't have to run a browser window to use it.

It has served us very well until now and at the pricepoint it doesn't make us second guess our current relationship.

Usability
Dashlane
It is similar to other passwords managers in its bones. It saves passwords. It attempts to be secure. It tries to be user friendly. The difference is how Dashlane Password Manager presents it to the user. It provides an interface that blends all the requirements in a way that is efficient and secure. It shows what you need. It could benefit from not being heavily browser based in its design.

Support Rating
Dashlane
We've had no issues with Dashlane. I can't speak to their customer service because I have not personally needed to contact them. I guess that speaks about their product if we've not had any issues to reach out about. Great for supporting data/information on multiple platforms that are shared among team members.

Alternatives Considered
Dashlane
Dashlane offers all the necessary features that any business is looking for at a competitive price. Dashlane was more accessible to implement than others, and there were no reported security breaches, so we felt comfortable trusting them with our essential data. Dashlane's support is also very good.
