Epicor Propello vs. IBM Sterling Order Management

Propello is user-friendly for the average store associate for a basic sale. Some basic inventory functions and product inquiries are not too difficult for store associates. But beyond that, in my experience, the system lacks functionality for a Hardware and Lumber store that handles special orders, services, etc. And the data needed to make business decisions is not easy to obtain, with some of it impossible to get unless you purchase an additional program from them.

• Interface extremely easy to learn and use from back end to front end user.
• Customer service is extremely responsive. Tickets are reponded to and taken care of quickly.
• Reporting features are easy to use and get the information you are looking for.

• Centralizing data.
• Instantaneously updated data.
• Ad hoc reporting.

• Make it easier to run a report to find customer past purchases.
• Not change inventory data that has to be manually entered.
• Make it easier to run any report.
• Not cost so much for each license and require so many.

• Wider variety of sourcing configuration
• Product Documentation
• COM Features need to better so that Customer case handling is facilitated

The package of Sterling Order Management / Sterling Store / Sterling Call Center works very well and it supports the expansion to Geographies like US/EU/JP/China, some of hottest markets for e-commerce.

Epicor Propello has significant potential but setup and training create anchors to moving forward. Mobile POS is useful and can improve productivity. Setup and methodology are a barrier to taking advantage of this component. Some features have been missing and are still in release phases. Updates are necessary to make the software more comprehensive. Usability is limited to how the end user is setup and trained.

Lightspeed had consistent issues with the software being down and little to no support. It also didn't have easy functionality to receive orders via a mobile device. Epicor Propello's team is very receptive to feedback and has made changes we suggested.

Warehouse Management System which is mainly focussed on warehouse fulfillment but not on the routing and availability tracking

• Round Up has been a positive
• monthly fees are very fairly priced
• having to get each user a license does limit us at times

• Optimal inventory management resulted in more orders per minute and good ROI and customer experience
