Frame.io vs. PeopleOne

Frame.io is great to use if you are someone that needs to share a lot of video. I could imagine it being used by wedding videographers, film videographers, news organizations, and nonprofits like us. It is also a great tool to add on and use if you use the Adobe Creative Suite. It does not have any editing tools, which is something you might assume it has with it being a video platform. Frame.io is best used for a curated and polished file management experience when collaborating with a team and enhancing the experience for the client or viewers of a pitch or presentation.

We are using [PeopleONE] to collect and manage our field data for payroll, invoicing, and production management purposes. So far, it works quite well for those uses. Additionally, we are using the app to manage communications from our offices to our field management at upper and middle field management levels. We have successfully used the application to communicate important upcoming events, COVID protocols and reporting processes, and other initiatives. I am unfamiliar with the limitations of this technology or applications for which it would be unsuited.

• Allows clients to make frame-specific notes, so there is no confusion what they are talking about.
• When multiple stakeholders are making notes, platform automatically sorts them chronologically in the video.
• Multiple stakeholders giving notes can see when their note conflicts with a colleague's.

• The UI, both for desktop and mobile apps, is simple and virtually self-explanatory.
• Compared to apps we have used in the past, PeopleONE is fast, in both data entry and retrieval.
• The team responsible for creating our specific requirements for the app is exceptionally responsive. It is made up of creative problems solvers who have built a product that meets every need we have presented.

• I think that Frame.io could have a better onboarding/training for individuals who are new to using a tool like this.
• Pricing is high for large teams.
• We have to pay close attention to the storage limit. I'd like to see that highlighted more clearly for users.

• We haven't actually experienced any issues of note to record here. Every concern, requirement, or change we have requested has been swiftly and satisfactorily resolved by the Impiger team.

It works well for our small team, but we’ve run into some friction as things scale. Getting external users set up with the right access can be a bit of a hassle, and the cost starts to add up as we bring on more people and projects. That said, it’s still a solid tool, it definitely speeds up our workflow and works seamlessly with Adobe products.

[I give it this rating] because it has addressed all of our needs in a succinct manner and it operates efficiently.

Frame.io continues to lead with new features that enhance collaboration and review workflows. For a Creative agency, it's been a wonderful digital asset management and client collaboration tool, and more. The ease of uploading and adding stakeholders has had an incredible impact on customer response times, helping us retain and delight our clients.

When sharing videos for feedback, there are no noticeable performance issues with Frame.io. Everyone is able to complete their tasks without the program getting in the way.

The few times I have needed support I have received a quick response - though the one major complaint I have had is regarding the omission of an iPad app - supposedly it is in the works but I haven't seen it release yet. We do have issues with the browser being buggy - especially on slow internet. Whether or not that is something support has failed me on, i'm not sure - but they are responsive, but don't always provide immediate results.

We utilize both Synthesia and Frame.io for different projects. Frame.io we use for editing actual video content that has been captured. Primary use is for customer training and education. We use Synthesia for short-form video production, primarily for software screen recording demonstrations, and for translation functionality (which is excellent).

• Frame.io has shortened our review time considerably, saving time.
• Frame.io is wonderful for managing a large team of editors, especially for us when we are using in-house staff and contractors.
• Frame.io has improved the relationship between departments, which was more tense with previous review methods.
