Likelihood to Recommend Geotab is a good product. I think ultimately it falls short in the clunky-ness of the program. If you are not intending to have users utilize the website and instead are going to feed data into a BI tool I think it would be a great product. I think if you are aiming to have the website utilized by your users and are looking for a one-stop-shop to drive your end-users to for reporting and data and are aiming to manage the program out of the program itself—I would not recommend it. I think the UI and UX clunky-ness is a hindrance and will lead to a lot of training because the learning curve is so steep. If you have a large Training team owning this and can swing that, it would be fine. However, if you are scrappy and looking for minimal need to train and re-train and want something intuitive and with a low learning curve, this is not it.

For overall fleet management, maintenance scheduling, employee tracking and equipment tracking this service seems like it is an all in one package that hit all the check boxes my firm needed. The issue is lack of hardware and software updates and support, and what appears to be an over taxed cell network that is not allowing any of these devices to work correctly.

Transit temperature monitoring - Verizon Connect allows us to fill in previously missing temperature information for food products in transit. Vehicle location monitoring - While not our primary goal, we are able to use Verizon Connect to see if any of our vehicles has stopped for an excessive amount of time. This helps us ensure safety of our vehicle drivers. Read full review Cons The UI is very clunky. Reporting and dashboards are not intuitive. The UX leaves a lot to be desired. Contractor install is very cumbersome, inconvenient, and causes downtime. Tracking had lots of unexplained glitches, thousands of miles added and lost to various trucks out of nowhere. Customer Service is quick to "open a case" on any issues, but lacks follow-up and solutions. Lots of problems are "sent to development." Verizon Connect has great customer service. Our account manager has always replied quickly to any inquiries of mine and has been very knowledgeable and reliable. Drivers who've occasionally needed to call into the customer service helpline have quickly had their questions answered and problems resolved. All reports I've received from them about their experiences have been positive, stating that the Verizon Connect employees have been courteous and helpful, resolving their issue quickly and efficiently.
Read full review Alternatives Considered I think ultimately the product itself is good, however, the other competitors in the space have much better UIs and they almost all seem more intuitive. The reporting is easier to create and not just based in Excel and they feel more developed. I think that if Geotab were to focus on their UI and UX and really develop it more, there would be a significant bump in customer satisfaction for Geotab and they would be a huge force in the enterprise space.

Verizon is more precise with GPS, but the easy installation and quick onboarding make Motive the winner. Verizon connect has better accuracy and less chance of removal, but the interface set up take away from its ease of use. Motive is easily installed and can be transferred between vehicles that Verizon connect cannot.
Read full review Return on Investment Tracking has allowed us to recover assets from exited employees saving us about $500k. While we could have had a dent in our fuel costs from idling or speeding some of the mechanisms used in the system haven't allowed that to come to fruition. Costly compared to other GPS programs. Tied to long term contracts. Representatives do not know how to cancel service. Must wait until the end of the contract to request cancellation. If you miss date, you are tied to another 3 years. Read full review ScreenShots
