Likelihood to Recommend GoFundMe is well suited for personal appeals where a story can be told and donors feel an immediate result or effect. It is less appropriate for larger mass appeals that are not targeted directly to a specific cause. For example, not good for companies to ask for funding for operating expenses.
Read full review TeamRaiser is well suited for peer-to-peer fundraising activities, such as large pledge-based events like walks and runs or DIY fundraisers of many different types.
Read full review Pros Peer-to-peer fundraising Fundraising pages Read full review Offers the ability to really customize a campaign on TeamRaiser. Provides milestones/badges that can be earned for participants. Provides custom pages that can be easily linked to a campaign. Gives the ability to send coaching emails to participants and for participants to send emails through the TeamRaiser system. Has a big support community. Read full review Cons Need a clearer picture of your campaign status, especially around publishing (making it live). Processing rates are not horrible but not great either - If we used our own processor our fees would be cut in half. Read full review Too many options so it can be hard to navigate. Requires a deeper HTML understanding to really get the most out of it. Would be better if the interface was similar to other original Blackbaud products. Read full review Usability GoFundMe is very easy to use and does a great job allowing us to share insights and stories to leave a lasting impression on donors. From setting up the account to ending the appeal, the entire process has been very user-friendly. I'm very impressed with the experience so far and plan to continue using it for future campaigns.

Read full review Support Rating Crowdrise has been great with their customer support. They have always been helpful and available. They also have several resources on their website that has been useful to other areas of our non-profit. Their relatability has been positive for us and has made us feel taken care of and considered.

Read full review Alternatives Considered Since GFM was selected for us I can't give the rationale behind that. However, I do think that
Qgiv and Salsa are more internally user-friendly and provide at least the same amount of functionality. That being said, the other two (I think) require CRMs to use whereas GFM can just integrate with others, making it a better choice for one-off campaigning.

everydayheroPro and
CrowdRise are easy to set up, already mobile friendly, have great interfaces, and are customizable, they lack some base capabilities that come with TeamRaiser, such as the ability to control the donation form, email capability, database syncing, badges/milestones, and custom pages. The
everydayheroPro system has great potential, and we use it for our smaller DIY campaigns, but its support knowledge bank and customization is still so limited and can be frustrating to use because of it.
Read full review Return on Investment Brought in new donors from outside our solicitation area. Appeals to younger audiences. Great way to include client testimonials and stories. Read full review Introduced our constituents to DIY fundraising. Provided another revenue stream that provides nearly $100,000 extra a year. Gets our constituents involved in the cause in another way. We've found a niche by using TeamRaiser in companies. Has provided more donor interaction for lower-tier giving groups that might otherwise receive little communication and stewardship from us. Seen returning participants raise more money year-after-year. Read full review ScreenShots
