It's extremely easy to get started with faxing as a small business. It's the best/cheapest standalone solution I have found for faxing. I'm a solo entrepreneur and it does everything I need it to do.

iFax
iFax is the best for people who need to submit documents to government agencies and offices that don't use email as a means to sends pdf files and other forms of documents like word, excel, etc. It is best for those who only need to send less than 5 pages of documents to the recipient.

Cons
Dropbox
  • I don't use the sign + fax functionality because I'm already using hellosign / dropbox sign to sign things
  • I originally used my personal email to set up my log in but I am not able to change it to my professional email because of overlaps with an account with hellosign / dropbox sign
  • It would be nice if it warned me if I'm trying to send a fax to a number that hasn't worked in the past

iFax
  • I would like to see a better price package that caters to small clinics.
  • The clarity of uploaded logo images is not the best and improvement is needed to promote a more professional look.
  • I am not aware of any referral offers for small business that refer other clinics to use the product, which would be helpful to all parties.

It doesn't fit very well into my workflow to send a fax via email. I like having it in one separate place better. RingCentral is expensive and I have other tools already that do what it does (phone, etc.)

the services were honestly the same but efax forces you to add a credit card so that they can charge you once a month in order to get their free trial. I only sent one fax with efax this year and canceled immediately. at least with ifax I can send one small document per month

Return on Investment

  • Don't have to get a fax machine or leave my house to send a fax (i.e. at a Staples, etc.)
  • I don't have to worry about paying hundreds of dollars a month for a bundled solution that I might not get enough value from

  • Having faxing capabilities makes my company look more professional.
  • It is helpful to have faxing capabilities to better communicate with other providers as well as insurance companies, however I have only noted a small ROI at this time.
  • With faxing capabilities my referrals have increased from providers.
