Likelihood to Recommend It works well on an outpatient basis, and for services such as hospice, home PT/OT, and home wound care. It does not work on an inpatient basis and does not work well with patients who have limited ability to communicate or to stay awake, as the assessments have too much redundant information. A healthcare worker can really overstay their welcome in a patient's home while filling out all the required fields, and that can really annoy the patient and family. Families do notice when we spend more time with the technology rather than the patient.
Read full review PointClickCare is more suited for long-term care; less suited for independent or assisted living but they are making great strides. Reporting and dashboards could be more robust but by far this is better than any of the other products out there currently for long-term care. Financial Setup is cumbersome and could be more fluent or intuitive with better programming. UI is changing to a more modern look which is great. Training options could be better as not everyone does well with eLearning
Read full review Pros Signing physician orders is very simple, self explanatory and quick. It allows you to track referrals and orders very well and easily. It works well on tablets. Read full review PCC's census tracking is exceptional, allowing for Medicare's 100 days to be managed on the MDS and billing part. Cash applications are simple to use. Any errors in payments can be investigated immediately to confirm whether the discrepancy is due to inaccurate write-offs, billing, and even census. The month-end closing process is clean and efficient, allowing the billers to ensure all matters for the previous month have been satisfactorily addressed. Read full review Cons Assessment of patients takes just too long and there are just too many fields to be populated. There are different ways to navigate, to arrive at the same information of interest. One has to spend time familiarizing oneself with different options. And in the end, you may not use half of what you learned. The calendar does not show holidays. One can mistakenly schedule appointments and then you have to call, apologize, and cancel. It would be nice if the holidays were shown, just like on the phone calendars. Read full review Reliability and Availability I have implemented PCC in over 100 buildings and have used it for almost 5 years. I can count maybe 2 times in 5 years when PCC downtime caused an issue for our facilities. I would say their availability rating exceeds a 10 compared to other software systems.
Read full review Support Rating They explain well, however, it often takes more than 1 day for them to get back to us.
Read full review If by "overall support" you mean "customer service," only once were they unable to provide the assistance I needed--but it wasn't an important element of my job so no matter.
Read full review Implementation Rating Have already stated. People learn differently and PCC needs to adapt to that model instead of all eLearning. Offer the client different learning packages.

Read full review Each software that we had previously was best in KLAS at one time or another. However, they were individual software solutions instead of one solution for all of our business objectives. PCC has made it easier for our financial and clinical staff to have one tool that spans the employee lifecycle and that interacts with the different departments. Our facilities now have a real EMR instead of a parsed out product half on paper and half in the computer.
Read full review Return on Investment So far our billing and revenue has increased compared to the prior 3 years. On the other hand, nurses and other staff do make more overtime due to the increased charting time. The software itself can get costly as each add-on is rather expensive. We have found that just the basic is not enough for our institution. Overall though, it has increased revenue as it allows correct billing which is needed for the insurers.
