Hudu vs. SugarSync

We are a smaller organization, but we have multiple locations. For our use, Hudu is great for managing assets for multiple locations. I can see Hudu being well suited for organizations of any size. I can't think of any scenarios where Hudu would not be well suited or appropriate. The cost is minimal, and the cloud hosting has been excellent for us so far.

When doing daily jobs, if you’re sharing large files, I think Dropbox works a lot better but if you have a system where you’re working within that system and you want to be able to work with that system and have certain folders that you have access to all the time then SugarSync might be just the ticket.

• Sync files in any folder - rather than forcing you to store them in a certain place (Although this can be confusing too)
• Works in the background - although this is true for all
• You can share with others - including those who do not use SugarSync

• Can only think of one thing. I have helped others to get going with SugarSync and they if they have problems it is understanding the cloud.... So maybe (if it dosen't exist already) I would like to have a animation of the proces with "flying" folders between desktops, clouds etc. Otherwise SugarSync is just great.

1. Freemium model is the ideal marketing for an app like this. 2. Now their sync methods with Android are worse

The usability is extremely simple. It is very easy to navigate, add assets, and link assets. Hudu has many ways to customize assets to meet your needs, and offers some good integrations to help you automate some of that work. The expirations feature is also great, because it helps you to stay ahead of expiring contracts.

Hudu is much cheaper than IT Glue. While it may not have all the features that IT Glue has, it has all of the features that we would need. We tried self hosting BookStack before trying Hudu, because we had heard that is a great alternative without a cost, but we weren't able to make it work the way we wanted it to.

SugarSync, like all solutions, has its place in the data storage stack within a company. The main reason SugarSync is better than the other solutions is that it enables me to leave my hard drive organized and keep my existing file trees. I don't have to constantly move or copy files to a specific folder if I want them backed up.

• Hudu has saved many hours by simply being able to find information about our assets in seconds
• Hudu has allowed us to stay organized, which has saved us many hours or searching through spreadsheets
• The low cost of Hudu has saved us several dollars financially, compared to other options

• There were some opensource alternatives but we wanted something with better support which SugarSync offers.
• We achieved faster project collaboration with SugarSync.
