IBM Case Manager

Having worked with IBM Case Manager for around 4 years and seen multiple projects go live and supported in live using Case Manager, I would safely say that Case Manager (depending on the physical architecture) can be a very stable solution for entities that have many workflows that usually need customization, and will do the task required efficiently. This is definitely based on the skill of the development team, but if you know it well enough you can get good results out of it.

  • IBM Case Manager provides lot extensive case REST API which allows applications to integrate with IBM Case Manager and Content Engine.
  • IBM Case Manager comes with one of the admin client tool which is very easy for an administrator to manage the solution deployments.

  • 835 integration (which is being worked on)
  • E-prescribe for our MDs. Managing prescription issues for patients is cumbersome and e-rx would resolve 85-90% of our issues
  • Would like to have the ability to customize the note template based upon the service file, and not have a uniform template across services.

Even though we have great experience developing, maintaining, and supporting applications developed on Case Manager, IBM is starting to kill this product in favor of IBM BPM. BPM provides more or less the same functionalities we use from Case Manager, so we started shifting sales towards the new product to benefit from continued support.

And we feel this is one of the leading product that provides shared service platform.
