Ivanti Autonomous Endpoint Management (AEM) is an enterprise endpoint-operations solution built on the Ivanti Neurons platform. It combines unified endpoint management (UEM)—centralized management of desktops, mobile devices, and other endpoints—with digital employee experience monitoring, asset discovery, security controls, and automated remediation. Ivanti positions AEM as a broader solution layer that brings UEM, digital employee experience, and security capabilities together rather than as a…

Microsoft Intune (formerly Microsoft Endpoint Manager), combining the capabilities of the former Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager, SCCM or ConfigMgr, is presented as a unified endpoint management option. Microsoft Intune is an endpoint management solution for mobile devices, an MDM solution that allows the user to securely manage iOS, Android, Windows, and macOS devices with a single endpoint management solution. The component Endpoint Configuration Manager (the…
I would much prefer using Intune in our environment. Tanium isn't my favorite, but I would still take it over Ivanti. As a Microsoft shop, we have a lot of functionality baked into Intune that would be helpful to us.

I think that Ivanti Autonomous Endpoint Management can be well suited to most scenarios for patch management. The different options with Ring Deployments allow for rolling out patches in any number of circumstances. Typical monthly, weekly, daily, zero day response, etc. There is some lack of control over how to wrap up a deployment. What I mean is that in a scenario where we need extremely controlled rollouts, some of the features do not align well. For our organization, we would ideally evaluate patches that come out each Patch Tuesday. Select those patches for deployment, deploy those to our test servers over 3 days, wait 2 days, then deploy to production for 3 days. While we have plenty of control over the initial deployment, we have no clean way to say "after these 3 days, no longer deploy the patch". In our specific scenario, we sacrifice process to align with the tool's capabilities.

Microsoft Intune is well suited for the larger end of the small business segment to the enterprise. The ability to configure and remotely deploy computer configurations, control mobile devices, and fine tune security controls of each device or device group is a major win for this product. Smaller and mid-sized businesses may balk at having to increase their license level to unlock the better updating features.

Ivanti Autonomous Endpoint Management is light weight and easy to install
Ivanti Autonomous Endpoint Management allows the user to defer a required restart. Allowing them to restart their machine at a time that's more convenient for them.
Comparatively, Ivanti Autonomous Endpoint Management is a budget friendly solution.

[Microsoft Endpoint Manager (Microsoft Intune + SCCM)] helps to speed up the deployment of patches/software throughout our environment. I can easily build a package and then deploy across all endpoints.
The ability to supercede software is also quite handy. This automates the removal of old versions and replacing them with newer versions.
The Intune Autopilot option is very useful if you want to deploy software to devices straight out of the box. You can configure them to download software when a user opens a new PC and turns it on for the first time.

MDM has fallen a bit flat, however, with the recent acquisition of MobileIron I believe this will change but as of now there is some of this still built into the product
The antivirus portion of the product hasn't had much love and could use a bump. It is not bad at all but I would like to see it hit that next level.
Data Analytics is the most powerful tool inside this platform but it is so hard for people to figure it out that it often goes unused. It needs a good redesign.
Deploying more apps besides Microsoft Edge and Microsoft Office 365 app
Microsoft needs to make it easier to deploy exe, pkg, and msi apps without having to go through the manual process of re-packaging these apps using tools from github like intuneapputil
Add a feature to push out software updates for 3rd party apps

MobileIron is a constantly evolving platform that stays current with industry trends. iOS updates? No problem, they're supported almost immediately after a new iOS version comes out. If you are a Core (on-prem) customer there is ample support and assistance to migrate to the Cloud version of MobileIron (although I've yet to convince my department head to approve the request). The platform is very robust and extremely configurable. Management roles can be delegated effectively to other staff without compromising security. These in alone are important, but even more important is the company itself - they are great to work with, from support to sales. We have never had a situation where MobileIron left us on our own, and many times support has gone way beyond what is simply required in order to educate us or extend the usefulness of the product

Mascom Wireless is a Microsoft shop and SCCM has proved to be helpful in keeping our Microsoft products up to date every month without fail. We also have a Microsoft Enterprise Agreement which we renewed for three years ending 2022. The remote access utility works wonders for the organisation and have saved travel bills including subsistance allowance. We have been able to fulfill security audits both internal and external. We have been able to keep a robust inventory of our computer assets and nothing falls of the cracks

It's relatively straightforward as far as using it. We can create roles in it and have some of our junior engineers still do the patching. Also, creating rules and exclusions, once shown, can be done by most of our engineers. We also like the interface on the home page that shows the current progress of our patch deployments

The console is not intuitive and does not work well often. Due to the complexity of the product, documentation can be confusing. When properly configured, routine tasks like OS deployment, remote control, and software deployment are easy to do. Troubleshooting of System Center Configuration Manager issues is hard, as there are various logs, and their content can be hard to understand.

It's a 'heavy' system, which demands a lot of resources form the datacenter perspective. So, make sure you followed the requirements to avoid frustration in the future. From the 'client' perspective, it's fine. I've never had any issue with that.

TRM\TAM support has been generally very good. Getting reported bug fixes, design changes, UX problems resolved has been a pain. It is often difficult to get problems escalated beyond the TRM\TAM level. Support is fantastic when you can get it, getting it can often require more work than it should, and that is probably our biggest issue.
We have not needed to seek support for this product in the time that we have used it thus far. It's been working really well, and have not had any major issues. Being that it's a Microsoft product, it goes without saying that there will be many support options available if needed. This includes phone, web, forums, KB articles, etc. There is even comprehensive documentation that is available on the web through Microsoft's website for use of the product.

It is online based, after learning content you can take a test and if you don't pass you get two other chances to pass. Once you pass the test you can print out your certification or save it

Work with a "test group" of users who you have a good relationship with so that when things don't work properly they understand! Work with your partner nicely without forcing things especially timelines as you are bound to make mistakes and create oversights in the project Management can also interfere with the implementation (which can cause delays) if you make too many mistakes which takes me back to having a "test group" where you have good relations

Better in most all categories. On-prem was not an issue for my organization. MS SCCM was lacking features. Airwatch required increasing tiers of service in order to match [Ivanti Unified Endpoint Manager (formerly LANDESK Management Suite)] features, and lacked the robust inventory data we needed. Meraki was very simple to use, but did not meet our needs. I would say that most Airwatch customers aren't using all the features they are paying for, and could save lots of money by using Meraki instead.
We did not evaluate or use other products like Microsoft Endpoint Manager (Microsoft Intune + SCCM). The main reason we did not evaluate or use other products is because Microsoft Endpoint Manager (Microsoft Intune + SCCM) integrates seamlessly with Microsoft 365 and Windows PCs. Expenses would have increased as well if we had purchased another similar product.

The installation of MobileIron was for security compliance so we could containerize email on BYOD devices and also control who got email on company phones (to prevent hourly workers from working on emails after hours). MobileIron met this need nicely.
MobileIron allowed us to utilize device certificates to prevent unauthorized devices from joining wireless networks in our company.
MobileIron allows our sales staff to get emails on the road and many users rely on the functionality and ease of the phone for general mail communication.

In our current environment, this System Center Configuration Manager had replaced several standalone solutions for patching, imaging, remote assistance, reporting, etc. That saved a lot of time and resulted in money to manage the IT infrastructure.
Once SCCM is deployed and fully configured, all agents are deployed and it is easy to automate a lot of processes and just control them from time to time to make sure that everything is working as supposed to be.
SCCM + Windows 10: great built-in endpoint protection solution. As a result, there is no need to buy additional software for that purpose.
The imaging process is better compared to WDS because you can modify deployment packages and apply patches to a newly imaged machine. This saves tons of time for new employees deployment.
