Miro
Based on my experience, as previously mentioned Miro shines for remote workshop design and facilitation. As a facilitator I value simple but effective tools such as the timer, locking/hiding assets, voting features which remove group bias. Focusing on heat mapping and dot voting features would be beneficial to support facilitators in their practice and remove what feels like manual effort at times. Wireframing is limited but still very accessible for non-designers, at times I have observed increased engagement from non-designers using Miro's wireframing tools vs pen and paper (sketching) which in theory should level the playing field for all disciplines but can make others nervous they are being judged for their drawing skills. I love whiteboarding in person with my team to jump in and problem solve, having a primarily remote team means this isn't always possible and so Miro fills that gap.

Pegasystems
PRPC is a BPM and Case management suite from Pega Systems. Pega is a comprehensive suite which offers a unique theme of BPM development in the market. A no-coding approach based on rules with inheritance makes Pega a very powerful product but is very difficult to learn. Even, if we go to Pegasystems for training, we have to work on a project at least for a year to have some confidence. Areas where it requires improvements: 1) One of the first things that client's IT department questions about is proprietary BLOB column in PRPC, for them, it is a disadvantage, but as we all know BLOB is what makes the highly complex data model of any BPM application fit inside to a common schema which eliminates the help of a DBA. 2) Another area of improvement is: when using the wizards to generate rules (such as the connector wizards) you have to be careful about the level of coupling between the work object's data model and the interface's data model. This can also create maintenance issues. 3) The complete Pega suite of products have a long time to develop and deploy and it can be easily done using other low-cost software.

Pros
Miro
  • visual collaboration - easy ways to visualize how work can get done
  • centralizing documentation - I appreciate how I can centralize and expose all documentation in a board for quick accessibility
  • ease of use - I've tried so many other tools that attempt what Miro does, but Miro makes it so easy to create things with its tools available

Cons
Miro
  • Leveraging content on one board across multiple boards could be more user-friendly. I believe this is a new feature, so maybe I just hadn't figured it out yet.
  • I wish Miro could use info from another source but (e.g. a document stored in SharePoint) keep the link to that source so that if the source document changes, the doc in Miro would show an out-of-date icon and can be synced (manually or automatically as a preference or action).
  • I wish Miro would allow us to place a watermark on the screen. We'd like to brand our workshops with our company logo (and maybe the client's logo) and/or a custom message (like "proprietary info - do not copy") in a corner or edge of the screen.

Pegasystems
  • Pega Customer Engagement Suite is ready to use out of the box with several features, but custom development is always needed.
  • Although new features can be quickly implemented, they have to go through a screening Business analysis process, QA screening and SCRUM based development.
  • Pega eliminates the need for custom code, but there are rare cases where an specific requirement has little to no support from Pega, and implementing custom code can break OOB functionality and make the system unstable.

Miro
It is part of our daily process. It is used for core functionalities of our day and without Miro, we would need to use multiple other tools and it may not be as effective as just continuing the use of Miro. We would struggle to find a tool that can capture everything that Miro does.

Reliability and Availability
Miro
I only give a 9/10 because of the speed at which it loads. I have never experienced issues with Miro logging me out early, or some other technical issue causing the program to crash, or even it just loading in perpetuity without ever actually coming up (unlike other programs such as SFDC). It take a minute for all of my boards to come up after I click on it in my favorites, but besides that, it's all good.

Performance
Miro
I took the loading quickly to be related to availability which I commented on before, so ditto with those comment on load time here. Although to reemphasize, Miro doesn't crash or just refuse to load like some other programs. The weak point of Miro for me is integration of files like Word, Excel, or PowerPoint (especially the later two). When you embed these, it gets slow, and complicated to bring them up while you're in the application.

The seamless integration with our existing tools and the reliability of the platform have ensured that we rarely encounter issues that require external assistance. This self-sufficiency has allowed us to focus more on our projects and collaboration without interruptions. Overall, our experience with Miro has been smooth and efficient, eliminating the need for additional support

Online Training
Miro
There was a series of webinars which Miro hosted with our organization that went over the basics, then progressively became more advanced with additional sections. The instructors were knowledgeable, and provided examples throughout the sessions, as well as answered peoples' questions. There was ample time and experience on the calls to cover a range of topics. The instructors were also very friendly and sociable, as well as honest. Of course Miro isn't a "God-tool" that does absolutely everything, but the instructors were aware and emphasized the strengths where Miro had them and sincerely accepted feedback.

Implementation Rating
Miro
Easy to learn, Miro has a series of videos on YouTube that effectively taught this program to my team members and me. The program is drag-and-drop and works excellently. People pick up on how to use it efficiently, and it's great for organizing ideas more freely. This product is more challenging for some older audiences who are not accustomed to using a touchpad, but for most, it was very easy to use.

Alternatives Considered
Miro
Both are great collaborative tools but Miro has a wide range of templates to chose from. Additionally, its real-time collaborative capabilities allows a large group of participants to engage real-time which is ideal for brainstorming sessions, discussion boards and group projects. Regarding integration with other tool, Miro seamlessly does it with third party apps allowing users to use it maximally.

Scalability
Miro
Maybe is possible now so... Could be useful to manage in some way source code for the projects? not to edit so when we make solutions with different components in MIro, maybe each component could redirect to the source code of this component
