Overall Satisfaction with Miro

In our organization, we use Miro extensively as part of our SAFe Agile software development framework, particularly for Program Increment (PI) planning, Iteration planning, and Iteration retrospectives. Miro has proven to be an invaluable tool in addressing several business challenges by enhancing collaboration, streamlining workflows, and ensuring alignment across teams.
One of the key strengths of Miro is its ability to enable real-time collaboration. My team and I can simultaneously work on the same board, with updates reflected instantly. This ensures that everyone stays on the same page, even in a distributed or remote work setup, eliminating delays and fostering a unified understanding of tasks and goals. The visual nature of the boards makes complex planning processes easier to comprehend and execute.
Additionally, Miro integrates seamlessly with other tools in our tech stack, such as Jira and Confluence, allowing us to import data directly into the board. This integration reduces manual effort and maintains consistency across different platforms.
For new users, Miro's intuitive onboarding process, including its interactive tour, helps them quickly familiarize themselves with the interface and features. By making collaboration and planning more efficient, Miro significantly contributes to the productivity and success of our Agile initiatives.

Pros

  • Importing data from different tools.
  • We can backup the board and import it later-on.
  • We can import the templets.

Cons

  • Dark mode in Miro could be added.
  • Apart from dark mode, I don't think I could find anything which needs improvement.
  • It makes the work easy and quick.
  • It reduces the effort of toggling between the pages to peek for another set of data.
  • Overall it has improved productivity and reduced effort.
Miro offers seamless integration with a variety of tools, making it incredibly efficient to import and work with external data in real time. One of the most powerful examples in our workflow is its integration with Jira, a tool we use extensively for managing tasks, tickets, and stories. By integrating Jira with Miro, we can quickly import Jira tickets or stories directly onto a Miro board, eliminating the need for manual data entry and ensuring that the information is always accurate and up-to-date.
This capability proves invaluable during Program Increment (PI) and Iteration planning sessions. We can visually organize and prioritize imported tickets, identify dependencies, and allocate tasks to team members on the same board. This visual approach enhances clarity and fosters collaborative decision-making, even in distributed teams.
Additionally, Miro’s drag-and-drop functionality and ability to sync changes back to Jira make the process intuitive and efficient. Whether we're brainstorming solutions, creating task breakdowns, or tracking progress, this integration simplifies complex workflows, enabling the team to focus more on delivering results and less on administrative tasks. Overall, Miro’s ability to integrate with tools like Jira significantly enhances our planning processes and aligns teams toward shared goals.
Miro has significantly enhanced our organization’s ability to collaborate effectively on new projects, particularly in a remote or distributed team environment. Its dual availability as a desktop-based and web-based application ensures flexibility, enabling team members to access it from anywhere without compromising functionality. This has been crucial in bridging the gap between teams located in different parts of the country.
With Miro, we can collaborate in real time, working on the same board simultaneously, whether we’re brainstorming ideas, planning project timelines, or tracking progress. Features like sticky notes, flowcharts, and templates allow everyone to contribute visually, making complex ideas easier to understand and align on. Additionally, Miro’s ability to integrate with tools like Jira and Confluence streamlines workflows and ensures that all project-related data is centralized and accessible.
This collaborative platform has not only improved productivity but also fostered a sense of unity and engagement among remote team members, making project execution smoother and more efficient.
So far, I haven’t used any other tools that are comparable to Miro. Miro has been my go-to solution for collaborative online whiteboarding and real-time project planning, and its robust set of features has met all our team’s needs effectively. The platform’s ability to combine visual collaboration, seamless integrations with other tools, and a user-friendly interface has made it indispensable for our workflows.
While I haven’t had the opportunity to explore similar products, my positive experience with Miro has set a high standard for what I would expect from a comparable tool. Its versatility in supporting various activities—such as brainstorming, project planning, retrospectives, and even creative workshops—has proven invaluable in both remote and hybrid team setups.
Should the need arise to evaluate other tools, I would look for similar features, such as ease of use, real-time collaboration, and integration capabilities, to ensure they align with our team’s collaborative needs and project management processes.

Would you buy Miro again?

Yes

Miro excels in scenarios requiring real-time collaboration, brainstorming, and visual planning, making it ideal for Program Increment (PI) planning, iteration planning, and retrospectives in an Agile environment. For instance, during PI planning, Miro enables teams to visually map objectives, dependencies, and timelines on a shared board, allowing stakeholders across different locations to contribute simultaneously. Its integrations with tools like Jira streamline task updates and synchronization, saving time and effort. Similarly, Miro is well-suited for retrospectives, where teams can collaboratively identify successes and areas for improvement using visually engaging templates.
However, Miro may be less appropriate for managing highly detailed, text-heavy documentation or intricate databases. While its visual interface is excellent for overviews and brainstorming, tools like Confluence or Notion may be better suited for maintaining structured documentation. Additionally, for teams with limited internet access or those unfamiliar with digital collaboration tools, Miro’s reliance on online connectivity could pose challenges.
