muse.ai vs. Wipster

Muse.ai offers a great option for video hosting for videos for bloggers, online content creators, course creators, coaches, online marketers, or anyone needing to host videos on a secure, fast, efficient, easy to use and affordable platform. The price is super affordable compared to other video host platforms. Muse.ai offers many features and functions for video hosting including some video player customization, public, private and embedded only video options, different sharing options and auto transcription. I have not found the automatic transcription/captions to be very accurate so I still use another program for my captions and manually upload them. (Muse.ai does offer the option to add your own captions so this is not an issue for me and only takes a couple more minutes time.)

I actively talk about Wipster and show off how I'm able to get so much done with my clients because of this tool all of the time! If you own or work at a digital agency, it's a must! I'm using Wipster for short and long-form media, it just makes everything so much easier for me.

• Wipster was one of the first applications to allow for frame-by-frame video feedback. This provided a unique opportunity to make feedback far more intelligible than before. Before Wipster, we needed to reference phone calls, notes, emails, and messages, as well as communicate verbally with our project managers. A lot of information can get lost this way, but Wipster places the feedback directly with the video, which makes it super easy to understand what the client desires for their video to look like.
• Wipster allows for a client to select a location on a frame where their feedback is referencing. It's fairly archaic, but it works. Client feedback sits next to the playback window so it's somewhat easy to reference what the client wants.
• Wipster also allows for integration with editing software like Premiere Pro, which speeds up the editing process as well.

• There is sometimes a lag when navigating a timeline/leaving comments, which makes me wonder if actions are being recorded correctly.
• The admin interface seems to be slower than it should be.
• There's no closed captioning feature as far as I know (some of our clients are deaf/hard of hearing).

While the technical issues we have encountered with Wipster have been very low in the time we've used the service, the few instances where we have needed assistance were met promptly and effectively by Wipster's Support Team. This support even extended all the way from the platform's founder, as I received help from him, which really impressed me.

Initially, it came down to the price. Muse.ai was $60 a year vs $200 for Vimeo. (Wistia is even more). Muse.ai may not have as many bells and whistles and options as Vimeo BUT they have everything I need for video hosting for videos on my blog, for my clients and within my member website for my online courses, classes and workshops. It is very easy to upload, customize, choose your settings and grab your embed or share links for your videos on their platform. I have only had to reach out to their customer support a couple of times, but each time I received a fast and friendly response.

After my experience with Wipster at my old job, when I started a business I knew I needed to look into alternatives. Despite the areas it failed, Wipster still made it easier to do my job. At this point, I've switched to Frame.io and it's hard to look elsewhere. Frame.io does everything Wipster does but heaps better. It's easier to use, easier to organize, cleaner interface, and accomplishes my goals at a reasonable cost to the business.

• saves me several hundred dollars annually compared to other video platforms I previously used ($140 less annually than Vimeo, for instance)
• saves me time in uploading and customizing my videos and grabbing the embed code
• so far, 100% uptime - meaning my clients and customers aren't having issues accessing content
• mobile-friendly video player, ease of use for my customers and clients who are viewing the videos

• No calculation I have noted but too many intangible benefits after using it , over all that is ROI
• I don't remember any negative feedback but in-app , working is very tricky
