It is an absolute necessity for a large global organization, as there are a lot of documents, invoices, and contracts traveling from one location to another in order to get signed. This entails undue delay, courier expenses, and wastes a lot of paper as well. Also, with clients spanning across the globe, it becomes imperative, as we have seen unfortunate delays affecting productivity happening due to the delay in signature formalities not being completed on time.

SigningHub
SigningHub worked well for me for collecting digital signatures on contracts from independent contractors. It's well suited for both small businesses (like mine) and bigger businesses since you can create a specific workflow for each sort of document you upload. It's also great for storing the signed and master documents. However, it may not be appropriate in certain industries with specific data security rules. Check with the regulators of your industry before using (lawyers, I'm talking to you...)

Cons
OneSpan Sign
- One area, usage reports can be improved, where customers can compare and audit easily
- eSign went through different acquisitions from Silanis, Vasco, and now OneSpan which makes it difficult to reference in our internal documentation
- Some technical offerings to allow simple integration with different systems

SigningHub
- I found setting up a workflow for each different document a little confusing.
- I'd get errors from time to time when prepping a document. This usually happened when I was inserting a date field or a signature field (which are fairly important fields for contracts).
- The one time I needed help and contacted the company, the representative made me feel like I was dumb.

I don't see any reasons to change as their solution covers all my need for now. I could make even more integrations but that might be something that I will do down the road. I'm used to working with the interface and my data is all there as well.

The product is so well designed and built that we rarely need to reach out to customer service. But we have reached out to them in case of downtime, and we have always gotten a satisfactory response. We never had to follow up, as customer service executives were very responsible.

Alternatives Considered
OneSpan Sign
DocuSign was probably one of the alternatives but to be honest we just did not evaluate alternatives at all. We were simply happy to integrate easily with an approved (by our financial institution) eSign product. We just moved from the POC to a "That's a go" decision given the fact the "price per volume" was reasonable.

I've used DocuSign and Adobe Acrobat DC in the past. DocuSign is nice because it easily integrates into Word, but it's also a bit pricey for a small business who may not use it all that much. Acrobat is great for signatures, but documents signed are stored on your own hard drive. Whereas, they're stored on SigningHub's end
