Mid-Size Companies (51-1,000 employees)
Rydoo (formerly Xpenditure) is a cloud based travel management solution that also handles the expense management process from receipt to accounting. After taking a picture of a receipt, Rydoo will extract all relevant data, and make it ready to be exported to the accounting software of your choice.
Routespring is definitely well suited for companies looking to keep track of all of their employee travel in one place, set a cap on spending for flights, provide reports when needed on travel costs and eliminate the need for employees to collect multiple receipts to turn in for travel reimbursement at the end of a trip. It is a simple platform to use once you get the hang of it, which really doesn't take that long if you are even mildly tech-savvy. As a non-profit with guests who were booking travel to our annual conference from all over the world, we did run into a few things that didn't quite fit (ex: couples booking together have to choose their spouse under the "employees" tab, and we had to make certain we had every single email address domain name our guests were using entered on the backend, so they were able to book with that email address). But these were small details and not deal breakers for us using the platform.
I would recommend it for someone who wanted to track reimbursed expenses or credit card expenses, but there is not enough in Rydoo to work with these two distinct categories of items separately. It is not a good fit for someone looking to have their expenses seamlessly reimbursed (like Expensify). I do recommend it if you need to work with multiple currencies, because it makes that easy.
It's hard to tell where to go to book a flight right after you create an account.
It is a pretty basic design - I think they'd raise confidence in their tech skills even further if the site were a little flashier.
The site is geared toward companies whose employees all have the same email address domain. However, they are able to accommodate different email addresses if you provide them so they can add the domains to your account.
After trying for weeks to (unsuccessfully) set up an account with another online booking agency, we contacted Routespring to see if they could help us based on the great reviews we saw. It took them about three days total to have everything in place and ready for our guests to start booking their flights while ticket prices were still reasonable. They have been attentive to all of our needs, respond quickly and professionally to guest questions, and are a lot of fun to work with as well. We couldn't have asked for a better partner for this project!
When Rydoo is responsive, support is just fine, but there have been times when our requests for support have gone unanswered for more than a day when their queue has indicated response times much shorter than that.
At the time, TripActions did not have sufficient price controls or out of policy approval process for us to continue using them. Routespring makes it very easy to have visibility and control on our travel spend
Expensify was easy to use too but I feel like Rydoo does a better job of capturing receipt info with less work on the users end. Also with Rydoo you don't have to create a report, you can just submit expenses as you go. With Expensify you had to create a report first which added extra unnecessary work with no benefits.
