SAP Digital Manufacturing vs. Stitch Labs (discontinued)

SAP Digital Manufacturing is well suited to integrate SAP S/4 with the shop floor systems for shop floor control. It shines on automatic data collection, automated down time collection, embedded SAP Analytics Cloud, Inventory integration, Interactive Production Operator Dashboards, Process Monitoring, Production Process Designs etc.

I can't recommend Stitch Labs as it was discontinued as of June 2021 (after being purchased by Square). All existing users have had to move off the platform and it they are not taking new customers. Square has said they are going to relaunch a new version of Stitch Labs possibly sometime in the future, but release date and features have not been announced.

• Edge component - this needs to be improved to provide a seamless connection.
• The inbuilt functionalities like in ME instead of building separate production process.
• The EDHR reports needs to be similar in SAP ME.
• Configurable OEE reports and history reports delivered out of the box.
• Integrated with non - SAP ERP.

• Reporting does not work for multiple currencies.

SAP Digital Manufacturing is a very well thought and engineered solution that does really well in trying to map most manufacturing use cases and makes it possible to manufacturers to avoid expensive and complex custom solutions and instead implementing fit to standard solutions that needs less maintenance and are less subjected to issues

I think the usability of SL is seamless comparable to other systems that we have and still have. I think the user interface could be better in some aspects, but also has improved the way we do business. Once you get around the brief learning curve SL tends to be easy to use and navigate.

We originally had phone support but when Stitch Labs updated the pricing they removed phone support from our service tier. It was very frustrating. We used their email contact and the answers were fine but sometimes it takes too long to try to solve something over email when you want to just talk to someone and get a quick answer.

The SAP Digital Manufacturing cost of operation is much lower, compare to other competitors like that of salesforce and to top it off since has been in the business of digital manufacturing for quite some time, it is more trustworthy.

• As it is cloud based product, quarterly upgrades impacts the production and needs effort and resources for testing
• Product is not fully matured. It still has bugs

• We had to migrate off this system which was not ideal after being discontinued
• Was a simple to use medium price range solution to scaling businesses
• UI/UX was intuitive and was easy to train employees
