Newswire gets our press releases out quickly and to many eyes. We run releases pretty frequently as part of our overall marketing campaign and getting them done through NewsWire makes it easy, especially when more than one person is working on the project. One of the best features of Newswire is the availability of the data to analyze after a release. We feed this data into our larger analysis and it helps us to make a better press release every time.

Newswire is suited for small-medium-sized businesses or smaller marketing departments. If the press releases are going to be working through many hands, NewsWire might not offer all the collaboration tools you might want. Still, for small teams, it works well and packages together several offerings with the PR that make it a precious package. Getting a release out through NewsWire is quick, easy, and usually cheap.

We have used Newswire for doing press releases. This is both helpful for our own business and our clients businesses. Gaining visibility via local press is valuable for any business and really needed if you are looking to grow or gain new clients. We had tried to reach out to each news source in the past, however, that is very time consuming.

We had issues with the quality of the press coverage. Many of the Press Release Distributions that we did would get coverage on really strange off topic sites. However, sites that Newswire talks about and uses the logos of would not pick up the story. We even had them write a few press releases and actually saw less traction form those that they wrote.

We use it for clients that want to increase the visibility of an event, product, or service. In some cases, we look at it as a basis to generate other media. Clients use the press release on their social media to attract followers who may not read the mainstream media or be on their online feeds.

Cons

  • Pick ups tend to be the same outlets no matter the content of the press release.
  • When a location or region is cited as a preference the coverage in that region can be spotty.
  • More emphasis on news apps as opposed to mainstream media. Fewer young people use MSM.

As a general rule, press releases announcing an event are more effective than product or corporate business deals press releases. This may be because events are people-centered and tend to be one of a kind. The interest in a new product, unless it is an upgrade to an existing product line or service, attracts little attention. There are exceptions; if, for example, there is an outbreak of some pathogen and the company is working on a solution, then interest is higher. News has to be related to current concerns.

We use Newswire as a press release distribution platform. It is easy to use and allows us to quickly and effectively distribute and promote our press releases to the right target markets. Pricing and coverage of the platform is fair and falls with our budget compared to many of the other distribution platforms.

We use Newswire for larger company announcements which we'd like a formalized press release to link out to when pitching journalists or sharing news with any external stakeholders. It's relatively limited in scope because we don't have many of these announcements, but it has been helpful at times in legitimizing news when sharing it out.

Likelihood to Recommend

Personally, I see no difference between Newswire and other press release services. This one's available with our current PR SAAS solution, there's nothing wrong with it, and pricing is usually somewhat competitive. These days nothing works as well as actual media relations, so Newswire comes in handy for just having a solid link for a press release and getting the SEO on backlinked sites.

We use Newswire when we have specific announcements that we deem worthy of the effort and expense of drafting and publishing a press release. A wire service solves a few problems: 1. Promotion. 2. SEO. 3. Light fact-checking. 4. 3rd-party validation. Our use case is very typical; we will identify a newsworthy story, draft a press release, spend a week circulating under embargo, and publish via newswire and our own channels on the day of release.

Pros

  • Simple yet robust user interface - I don't have to learn new software.
  • Professional web-based press release design.
  • Solid SEO - Newswire + company + topic usually surfaces link at top of search.

Cons

  • A clearer view of where release is published and promoted.
  • Better upsell for Newswire to act as PR agency to pre-promote release.
  • List all places the client should also promote the release.

Likelihood to Recommend

Whilst I think that there is a lot of room for improvement, considering the price, I believe that Newswire is the best value for money. The cheaper options are not quite as intuitive or robust, and the more expensive options do not justify the additional cost. This is why I would recommend Newswire.

We use Newswire very strategically as we only have a few meaningful times where we need to get big important updates out to the world. We are very happy that when we need to get something on the wire, Newswire does a great job of getting the message out far and wide. We end up with hundreds of pickups and impressions in the high millions. The process of generating the content is pretty helpful, too, and ensuring we hit our target audience is important.

Cons

  • This is an industry-wide issue, but impressions can be hard to use as a metric.
  • Copywriting is hard, so I don't expect miracles, but this is always a great place to invest.

I really don't see how any platform can outperform Newswire, so I am very happy with them. I would highly recommend them since they make this process quite easy and manageable. If you're in need of PR, this is a good starting point.

We have used Newswire for our Marketing department to announce leading certification achievements, product launches, and key hires. This has proven to be the most effective when we are trying to get information out to individuals that do not follow us on LinkedIn, and we feel this information would be beneficial to them.

  • For the products we have used, the pricing is reasonable and within our budget.

Cons

  • I have not noticed anything that needs improvement.

Likelihood to Recommend

Newswire is well suited to target key publications that correlate with our industry, and when we are issuing press releases, it has always been easy to navigate. I do not think we would use Newswire for announcements that we don't feel would gain new customers. For those smaller announcements, we use our Company LinkedIn page.

We've used Newswire to push out key organizational announcements and details on global campaigns for our nonprofit. Newswire has a sweet spot between price and distribution, which is essential for us as a small, yet aggressively growing nonprofit organization. Our audience is global, and we need solutions that allow us to meet the messaging needs. We find the platform very user-friendly and the review process for publishing fairly productive.

  • Good partner to disseminate information with many ways to customize and include multimedia

  • Sometimes the reps are overly aggressive if you are not a regular user
  • Pricing for nonprofits is sometimes prohibitive, sliding scale pricing would be helpful
  • Sometimes when in review, the reason a release may be delayed is unclear.

Likelihood to Recommend

It is very flexible and user-friendly, so I would recommend that it's a better option than some of the competitors for organizations that don't regularly distribute on wire services. If you are a large corporation, it's possible the offerings of other services may better meet your needs.

I use their release distribution services regularly, with little-to-no issues. The review processes are super quick and their customer service has always been top-notch! They respond quickly and always provide a resolution.

  • Have a better understanding of tech API's, some of our press releases were flagged and required 'proof' because their reviewer didn't understand how social network API's work.

If you need to get a press release out fast that drives an impact and is cost-effective—they're a great option for startups! But, as mentioned there were times when our press releases had been flagged to provide 'proof' for credibility reasons (which is understandable). But, this goes back to understanding how tech APIs work. I had emailed them letting them know this and provided the proof and my press release still went out at the time I had scheduled it because of how quick their response time is—I also haven't had any issues since.
