Adobe Acrobat is perfect for Important Documents.

Rating: 10 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Our office uses pdfs daily, it is actually a preferred option for documents because they allow for a certification of a signature. Adobe Acrobat has been the simplest to set up with single sign on and made available through our vpn. I am able to access the same account at home as I do here at work.

Pros

  • Digital Signage
  • Retractable options
  • Ability to merge pdfs into one document

Cons

  • Narrow down the edit option. Too many options, simplify that section
  • Task bar is just too busy, condense areas into less
  • Allow text to be typed in different colors and fonts
  • Have additional template options and not just pdf options, expand Adobe Acrobat

Likelihood to Recommend

Everyone in my office uses Adobe Acrobat because our job used documents that require signatures. This allows us to make sure no changes are made in any document from our office and as a testing center, that is extremely important.

Efficient PDF Editing Excellent Accessibility Tools

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

On our website, we host a number of PDFs (menus, instructions, rules etc) and found many of them to not be ADA accessible, WCAG compliant etc. Utilizing Adobe Acrobat's accessibility checker, we have cut down on these issues considerably, creating an online culture of accessibility.

Pros

  • Accessibility
  • Editing of PDFs
  • E-signature
  • Secuirty Features

Cons

  • Pricing is high
  • Can be slow at times
  • Splitting Pages can be cumbersome

Likelihood to Recommend

If I had a nickel for every PDF I've had to edit over the years, I'd be a very wealthy man. I really appreciate being able to organize pages, combine PDFs, update text, use forms and e-signatures, and take advantage of some of the security tools. However, what I value most is the accessibility checker. It's always important to me to ensure that any PDF hosted online is compliant.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

The organization that I worked for used Adobe Acrobat to Fill-In and digitally sign forms such as Timesheets, contractual agreements, tuition reimbursement and travel authorization.

Pros

  • Adobe Acrobat is easy to use and navigate through, especially for a hybrid work environment. It is intuitive and works well across any device, such as desktop, tablet or mobile, which makes it easy for every employee to fill out, e-Sign and submit documentations.
  • Adobe Acrobat is also great for its robust security format. It offers a secure platform for digital signatures on contractual agreements, timesheets, and tuition reimbursement requests.
  • Adobe Acrobat also offers its users an easy and versatile export feature which allows its PDF to export as Excel, PowerPoint and Word documents, which I found extremely helpful depending on the project or document that I needed to submit.

Cons

  • Since I really like Adobe Acrobat, where I could offer room for improvement.

Likelihood to Recommend

I find Adobe Acrobat to be well suited for protecting and exporting formal documentation. For example, it is great for taking completed contracts or timesheets and applying a digital signature to them so that the documents cannot be altered. It is also wonderful for combining different file types such as Word and Excel into one professional PDF document.

Intuitive Tool for PDF Review and Editing

Rating: 9 out of 10
Incentivized

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I mainly use Adobe Acrobat to review and fix tagged PDF's created out of a customised merging flow scripted in InDesign. It helps me quickly find the issue using its various tools and develop solutions for it. The tools are intuitive to use and help the overall process. I also use it often for document reviews using comments, highlights etc. Document summary feature also helps with long documents.

Pros

  • Accessibility tag review
  • Annotations, comment, doc review flow
  • PDF viewer
  • Document Signing

Cons

  • Performance can be improved
  • AI feature should be integrated in a manner that does not create disruptions
  • Updates many a times just don't happen. It could be streamlined better

Likelihood to Recommend

For doing specific tasks like editing the PDF, viewing/adding/editing accessibility tags, document signing, viewing a complex PDF I trust Adobe Acrobat to provide me the best compliant way to do the task. Generally it is suited for all the use cases. But for quickly looking at a PDF I generally prefer to use the browser or preview app on the MAC as these are faster. If Adobe Acrobat makes the launch and performance of the app faster then there is no reason to use any other app

An overlooked workhorse that gets the job done

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I work with Illustrator most of the time and save nearly all my work as PDF to ensure it can be shared easily and viewed in Adobe Acrobat. I find Adobe Acrobat essential for viewing PDF documents as they are meant to be viewed and also the ability to edit, combine, and make forms from them is a great help. Invaluable to my workflow

Pros

  • Allows me to edit my PDF documents for text errors or simple changes
  • Allows me to create forms from documents I have made in Illustrator
  • Allows me to view documents as they were intended and make notes for sharing

Cons

  • When editing a document it can feel 'clunky' I understand that it's out of the original setting but I do feel less confident with this and will usually go back and edit the original document
  • I find the creation of text blocks when I'm talking a from to be sometimes frustrating. If I'm not careful I find that text entered in one will repeat in another if I have simply copied the boxes to make them consistent

Likelihood to Recommend

It's a great tool for viewing PDF documents, for adding notes and sharing changes, for creating forms from simple documents. To get signatures from others for more official documents and being the most trusted platform for PDF. Preview is possibly the only other and I wouldn't feel confident that I was seeing the doc as it was intended by viewing on that platform.

It is the industry standard for a reason

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Adobe Acrobat is how we export design work for client review/comment and for print production. We use ISO standard PDF/X for production, and screen-friendly PDF versions for clients to review and comment on. In both cases, this avoids releasing working design files and avoids licensing issues with fonts or stock imagery, which are increasingly important in commercial work.

Pros

  • ISO standard PDF creation is critical for print production, so that there are no surprises on press.
  • Adobe Acrobat's security features are simple to use, and effective.
  • Most clients have no difficulty with the commenting features in Adobe Acrobat, which makes review quick and simple.

Cons

  • The UI is awkward to navigate in professional workflows.
  • Major UI changes are much too frequent, which affects productivity adversely even when the changes are "improvements." Muscle memory is a thing.
  • The new AI features tend to be intrusive and distracting if you turn them on, and there are better alternatives for document summary and analysis.

Likelihood to Recommend

When preparing artwork for print production from an application like Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, or InDesign, the best way to preview and preflight the work is to export to PDF and use Adobe Acrobat's output preview to check process colors, spot colors, dielines, and any special requirements, like foil stamping or varnish. Adobe Acrobat is also where you make any needed final adjustments to ensure correct reproduction on press. Documents intended for screen viewing must be exported to PDF and edited in Adobe Acrobat so as to add and edit needed accessibility features critical for legislative compliance.

My honest review

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I use Adobe Acrobat to review artworks and layout in my workplace. I also use it to edit some information on the layout and send them to the graphics team for they to work.

Pros

  • Show the file clearly
  • Edit files
  • Add comments

Cons

  • Allow to edit as the customer needs without any restriction.
  • Charge the files speedily.

Likelihood to Recommend

To review and add comments on layouts or files. The less appropriate scenario is that for file with high weight, sometimes we need to wait so the file can download or charge.

Amazing Adobe Acrobat

Rating: 9 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I use Adobe Acrobat on a daily basis to help organize and manage my PDFs! Most days I'm having to do some form of PDF organization so combining PDFs and shifting pages around! We also use more specific tools within Adobe Acrobat like using print production to easily adjust the sizes of the PDFs, and creating editable PDFs for clients.

Pros

  • Ability to manipulate a PDF in various ways.
  • Print production is incredibly helpful for checking off and making sure PDFs are ready for print.
  • Commenting in Adobe Acrobat is awesome! So nice to be able to hand off a PDF and get it back with edits that are easy to navigate and resolve!

Cons

  • For as amazing as Adobe Acrobat is, a lot of the time it does feel like one of the more clunky and slow Adobe programs.
  • Ability to edit text! Adobe Acrobat sometimes struggles with fonts and editing the text ends up messing with the text in weird ways.
  • It would be cool to have multiple versions of the same preflight single fixups! I use the same single fixup but need to adjust it for multiple sizes! I'd like to be able to save another version of it with the different sizes.

Likelihood to Recommend

I think managing any kind of PDF that needs comments or small adjustments, Adobe Acrobat is the easiest and most seamless to use.
