Overall Satisfaction with Adobe Acrobat
On our website, we host a number of PDFs (menus, instructions, rules etc) and found many of them to not be ADA accessible, WCAG compliant etc. Utilizing Adobe Acrobat's accessibility checker, we have cut down on these issues considerably, creating an online culture of accessibility.
Pros
- Accessibility
- Editing of PDFs
- E-signature
- Secuirty Features
Cons
- Pricing is high
- Can be slow at times
- Splitting Pages can be cumbersome
- Helped our website become WCAG compliant
- E-signature cutdown on approval times/processes
- Improved process for restaurant menu updates with edit PDF functionality
- Integration with Other Systems
- Ease of Use
Being a part of the Adobe bundle is a huge consideration in purchasing and using. The Accessibility functionality was huge for us as we preach a culture of inclusion for all of our digital guests. What I value most is the accessibility checker. It's always important to me to ensure that any PDF hosted online is compliant.
Adobe Acrobat provides a comprehensive security framework that protects PDF content, user data, and system integrity through encryption, access controls, protected modes, digital signatures, and cloud‑based safeguards. It enables us to encrypt files, apply password protection, use electronic and certificate‑based signatures, and leverage Adobe Document Cloud for additional cloud security and encryption.
For Foxit, the OCR feature enabled me to edit the text within them. However, the accuracy was not always reliable. Personally, I found Adobe Acrobat to be more effective for this purpose, but that's just my preference. For PDF Fusion, did not like support/help/instructions and it was windows based only (at least at the time).

Using Adobe Acrobat
50 - We have a large marketing department that works as shared services to support multiple properties and their initiatives in our portfolio. This includes digital marketing experts, social media specialists, Graphic Designers, Creative services and more. It is also used by our clients - as a chef can quickly update a menu in a pinch if needed.
5 - We have an assigned IT team to make sure we have access to the necessary programs to complete our tasks. They are able to approve license purchases and attach to business accounts and create log ins for each user. If the concern is functionality, we consult Adobe with questions or any available online resources.

Evaluating Adobe Acrobat and Competitors
Yes - Replaced Foxit PDF Editor - mostly because Adobe Acrobat is a part of our adobe bundle for synergy, but in terms of functionality, I found I had many older documents that I had scanned, and the OCR feature enabled me to edit the text within them. However, the accuracy was not always reliable. Personally, I found Adobe Acrobat to be more effective for this purpose, but that's just my preference.
We host a lot of PDFs on our website and having the ability to quickly edit them was very helpful, as opposed to re-creating the Word Document, updating and then re-converting to PDF. Adobe Acrobat just cleaned up our process, saved time on workflow and made our pages accessibile. Would stay with Adobe!
Adobe Acrobat Implementation
- Implemented in-house
- Account/Licensing Confusion

Quick Resolution Knowledgeable team Kept well informed Support cares about my success | Poor followup Problems left unsolved Escalation required Need to explain problems multiple times Slow Initial Response |
I’m not very familiar with Adobe’s premium support, so I can’t speak to its full value. Most of my experience has been with their standard help channels, which have worked well for my needs. Premium support may offer more, but I haven’t used it enough to judge its benefits firsthand.
I once needed Adobe Acrobat support when a fillable form refused to save any of the information I typed in. After a few failed attempts on my own, I reached out to their support team. They quickly walked me through checking the form’s permissions and saving it in a compatible format. Their clear guidance solved the issue fast and made the whole process surprisingly easy.
