Apple Numbers is used far more than excel or google, however we do use all three. we use Apple Numbers to track all our daily activities, temperature and other logs, financial analysis, customer spending trends, costing, what I find most useful is the ability to create good design, having the freedom to create a text box or any object and place it anywhere. I also use icloud to access my work from anywhere but especially useful if I have to work on other devices that are not apple. i use it to create barcodes and filing taxes with the CRA, via importing. Ultimately we use it to track everything that is not in our ERP, or information from out ERP which is Odoo

I am using version 14.4, i am avoiding upgrading and would never recommend the new version as it requires for all tense of purpose a subscription to creator studio, or it contains ads if you dont have subscription. the software is not good enough to justify a regular payment. I would have given a 10 / 10 for the standalone "old" version. Im still not trusting of AI which seems to be a big part of the new version. I use AI however I always have to double check everything. As this technology matures I would likely change on this. Apple Numbers best is its interface and intuitiveness.

I often use Apple Numbers because it performs better than other spreadsheets and has a user-friendly interface. I primarily use it to manage my budget breakdown, campaign results, ROI management, and project timelines. Adding charts, graphs, and images is easier compared to Excel and other options, making Apple Numbers more accessible for my needs. The wide-level collaboration system is excellent, and its privacy and security features are top-notch. The premium template designs available in PDF format simplify my presentation work, saving me time and reducing extra effort. Overall, it's a cost-effective tool with a top-class user interface that is easy to use.

Pros

I really appreciate the drag-and-drop feature, the visually appealing chart and graph designs, and the fact that it comes at no cost.
A professional presentation resembles a PDF template design, making the presentation experience hassle-free.
Best Clean UI with a user-friendly interface design easy to used
Native performance on M-series chips, excellent mobile app.

Cons

I believe the limit on the number of capped rows and columns needs to be increased; sometimes, I feel it negatively impacts long-term users.
I think it needs to improve real-time conversation because we cannot converse directly in the document, instead we use chat messages.

Likelihood to Recommend

I can easily create project timelines, budget breakdowns, ROI reports, and campaign management visual reports in a beautiful PDF design instead of the traditional gray cell layout. The ability to use checkboxes or sliders can help update charts, making it feel more like a presentation tool. Additionally, I find the pencil support on the iPad very helpful for signing documents by hand. Overall, it provides a great experience for collaboration with others.

We use Apple Numbers spreadsheets for everything. It is much easier to use vs excel. There really is no difference between Apple Numbers and excel. It does complex calculations and formulas just like excel. You can also filter data and sort everything as well. We are glad we have Apple Numbers to use here.

Same as I mentioned before. It is easier to use vs excel. I has good functions just like excel. It sorts data so you can work on reports and manipulate all of your data and information into the format you need for presentations. We are happy we have the Apple Numbers program to use.

Within my organization, I use Apple Numbers to create spreadsheets displaying monthly expenses, expenditures and other numeric data. We use the program on a weekly basis and export the spreadsheets as PDF attachments. It helps our organization stay organized and easily and efficiently access shared client data between different devices.

Apple Numbers is well suited for users who want to use software that is pre-loaded onto their Apple device, rather than logging onto Google Workspace to use Google Sheets, or paying a subscription for a software like Microsoft Excel. In my opinion, if you need to collaborate with other users on the spreadsheet, Apple Numbers is not a great choice.

I don't know anyone who uses Apple Numbers, except to close it when it opens or to convert Numbers files to Excel or Google Sheet files. It's not standard in any industry I know, and it seems to be used only when automated for MacBook users.

Pros

integrates with Apple and MacBook products.

Cons

Not easy for collaborative documents.
Also not great to use for anyone who's not an iCloud or MacBook user.

Likelihood to Recommend

I'm assuming this would only be preferable if, for some reason, your company uses only Apple suite products and shares documents through Apple iCloud. I don't know any organizations, informal or formal, that use Numbers as a standard.

My organization uses Apple Numbers for reporting, tracking and staying organized in day to day operations. I manage all content for the rev org, and I export reports to Apple Numbers to get informed on how that content is doing and what needs to be actioned. By creating filters I am early able to organize crucial information in a matter of seconds and follow up with each individual in a timely manor to make sure our content is in the best state possible.

Cons

Doesn’t have all the bells and whistles as excel.
Sometimes you have to save it in a different format for others to view
Could include more options on the menu bar rather than clicking on some of the drop downs.

Likelihood to Recommend

Apple Numbers is great for organizations who don’t live out of spread sheets. It is a cheaper option than the main competitor Microsoft Excel. So if you don’t want to shell out the extra money and take a little step back on features, Numbers is a great place to be for those companies.

I use Apple Numbers for various tasks in my role as a pastor. I use it to help plan conferences, organize schedules, and coordinate my preaching opportunities. I've also used it to keep track of how much money students in the youth group have individually raised through a plethora of fundraisers for our annual summer camp.

Could make the function keys a little more intuitive.
Could offer an increased variety of fonts.
Could offer an increased variety of font colors.

Likelihood to Recommend

Apple Numbers is the PERFECT tool if you are looking to plan a conference at your church. Furthermore, if you are a youth pastor, Apple Numbers is incredibly useful in keeping track of how much each of your high school students has accumulated funds towards their summer camp bill. Lastly, Apple Numbers is perfect if you are trying to keep track of all your upcoming preaching opportunities.

I've tried to use it as an alternative to Excel when I did not have Excel installed on a certain computer. It was hard to adjust to, and was not as intuitive (perhaps because I am used to Excel). It got the job done, but it was difficult to perform some operations due to my unfamiliarity with it.

I would recommend Apple Numbers if Excel or Google Sheets is not available to manage a spreadsheet. I think the lack of support/documentation versus other, more popular spreadsheet management tools is one of the biggest reasons I wouldn't recommend Apple Numbers regularly. Other than that it works to get basic tasks done.

Apple Numbers is easy to use. This is my number one concern when I try to convince people to use a new software. Being a professional educator , the ease of use and understanding is my main preoccupation.

Especially useful for integration into word processor of presentation software i.e. for communication purposes.

I use a Apple Numbers spreadsheet for my invoices and I have been commended repeatedly by my clients about the professional looking document I send them.

Similarly the chart I show on my presentation slides always have a strong impact on my message.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I use Apple Numbers for any type of spreadsheet -- analyzing growth trends, financial reports, and account balances. Because Apple Numbers is apart of Apple's iWork, I can use numbers across my Apple devices seamlessly. I'm very familiar with Excel, but Excel is clunky on Apple's operating systems. I find Apple Numbers to be a more user-friendly software.

Pros

Handing off from one Apple device to the another Apple device
The simplicity of the layout
Creating formulas are easy to implement

Cons

The ability to go live and present a spreadsheet during a meeting in real time
Make it simpler to add custom fonts to the font packages

Likelihood to Recommend

If someone uses Apple products exclusively, Apple Numbers is a no-brainer. Because of the ability to hand off documents across Apple devices, it makes it easy to work on multiple devices. If someone is already familiar with Excel, there is hardly no learning curve with Apple Numbers. If someone is working on a PC and Android devices, Apple Numbers is not appropriate. The software will not sync as well and in this scenario, someone should stick with the Microsoft suite package.
