Use Cases and Deployment Scope
With Microsoft not guaranteeing data integrity and putting the onus of data back onto the customer, Arcserve SaaS Backup serves as the perfect product to fill the gap. Having such a low entry price point means it’s accessible to 99% of customers and the fact that backed up data sits there indefinitely can prove invaluable to customers; particularly in sectors that require vast retention of data.

We have various customers within the insurance and law sectors that frequently have to refer back to legacy emails and documents and having the luxury of indefinite backups mean it’s incredibly convenient to recover these files in the event local copies have been deleted. Where it sometimes falls down is when customers have wanted to recover emails that have allegedly been sent/received by disgruntled employees, but were sent, read and deleted in between backup jobs.

  • Being so cheap, it’s easy to package and sell as a service.
  • Being so convenient, it sometimes can drain internal resource as clients can rely on it too much.
  • Great sales/pre-sales team that can assist.
Alternatives Considered
Barracuda Cloud to Cloud backup was never really given a fair comparison due to our existing relationships with Arcserve. From research and light sales meetings, the products seem to be the same premise with no real obvious benefit to either. Our choice was a matter of preference for vendor.
