Business Problems Solved
Articulate 360 has gained popularity as a reliable alternative to the Adobe suite, reducing users' reliance on multiple software tools. Customers have found value in its comprehensive suite, utilizing various tools like Studio, Replay, Storyline, Rise, Peek, and Preso for e-learning development. The software has been widely adopted across different sectors ranging from K-12 education school districts to large customer service organizations. It is used for a multitude of purposes such as ongoing training, onboarding and development of internal corporate employees, and creating SCORM learning modules on compliance, leadership training, product knowledge, and soft skills.
Instructional designers recommend Articulate 360 for its speed and ease of use, particularly with tools like Rise and Review. The ability to efficiently gather feedback within courses is also a standout feature that allows learners to make comments directly within the course and track them at the slide and layer level. Additionally, the software's integration capabilities make it easy to package webinars into on-demand formats and implement components onto websites. Users appreciate Articulate 360's mobile device support, collaboration through Review, and the extensive Content Library available for creating well-designed e-learning solutions. While occasional crashes have been reported by some users attributed to compatibility and memory issues with their computers, overall, Articulate 360 streamlines the e-learning development process and makes client reviews efficient.

Articulate 360 - Highly Recommended
Use Cases and Deployment Scope
I use Articulate 360 to create online training modules for employees. Employees need easy access to training on our LMS. Articulate 360 allows us to update courses quickly. The courses are professional looking and Rise provides professional sounding voice over that is built into Rise and Storyline. Articulate 360 also provides AI features to speed up production of the course and a great stock photo library.
Pros
- Integrates well with an LMS
- Easy to create professional looking courses
- Provides AI, media library, and text to speech features.
Cons
- Need to improve focus order in Rise custom blocks to delete unecessary items for ADA compliance
- Sometimes the AI assistant doesn't always get things right on first try
- Sometimes text to speech needs to be redone to get pronunciations right.
Likelihood to Recommend
Articulate 360 is great for online courses, courses for an LMS, courses that use media, text to speech audio, interactive items. Courses can be translated into other languages quickly. You can bring in outside media into the course pretty easily. The layouts are professional looking and blocks can be copied easily and repeated as needed.
Great product best in the industry.
Use Cases and Deployment Scope
I build engaging and interactive eLearning lessons using Articulate Storyline. The business problems that Storyline addresses include various nursing education content.
Pros
- Versatility
- User-friendly
- Customer support.
- Community
Cons
- Quicker turnaround on implementing new features that have been requested for years.
Likelihood to Recommend
Articulate Storyline allows the designer to create everything from simple click interactions to more complex 360 escape rooms, incorporating JavaScript and variables. For less complex content and more streamlined creation of that content, Articulate Rise would probably be a better solution.
Set 5 STARS to value TRUE when user clicks ARTICULATE
Use Cases and Deployment Scope
My team and I (along with 6 other teams spread across the company) use the Articulate suite to create engaging content for learners ranging from external general contractors, to engineers in manufacturing facilities to corporate employees and executives. Our content ranges from increasing the engagement of simple Job aids, construction standards, and tool walk-throughs, to complex 360 degree immersive simulations of dangerous environments to reduce risks during training.
Pros
- Unrivaled Power and Customization. After 15 years in the training industry, Storyline 360 remains my favorite tool because it is, simply put, the most powerful authoring tool I have ever used, giving me complete creative control.
- Advanced Interactivity. I love being able to 'overengineer' content using Triggers, Variables, States, and Layers, which allows me to build the most sophisticated and deep functionality.
- Superior to Basic Tools. Storyline's capability to build detailed branching scenarios and realistic simulations sets it leaps and bounds apart from basic tools like PowerPoint, which is essential for high-impact training.
Cons
- The 360 image activities in Storyline have limited features, but the limitations are mostly avoidable. I just like to over-engineer!
- The Storyline block integration in Rise can be temperamental depending on your window size, small being too small, and full width requiring scrolling up and down. Again, easy to adjust, by zooming, full screen, etc.
- Question banks cannot be accesses more than once without possibly repeating questions, unless you tie variables and triggers to them to remove answered questions. (again, resolvable as is, just extra steps)

I have encountered very few scenarios where at least one tool in the Articulate suite was not the appropriate solution. My team uses Rise to make job aids. We use storyline to create longer courses, interactive knowledge checks, immersive 360 degree scenarios, or even just animations with voice over to insert into Rise. I've even used storyline to create apps and "websites" for training repositories.
Articulate 360 Woooh
Use Cases and Deployment Scope
I use it to design engaging learning experiences and track the SCORM data it produces using my LMS.
Pros
- Localization tools helps me translate my courses into Spanish and Creole with a few clicks. I can’t wait for the audio and video translation capabilities to be added.
- Produce engaging elearning content.
- Track learner behavior using SCORM.
Cons
- Integration with MAC.
- Ability to zoom in on pictures on layers.
- Use cue points to fade assets out automatically.
Likelihood to Recommend
Produces elearning content that requires complex interactions and branching scenarios.
Articulate is Simple and Intuitive
Use Cases and Deployment Scope
We use Articulate 360 to create and publish all our e-learning courses in Tech Ops’s Training at United Airlines. It is easy to use and it is SCORM compliant with our Cornerstone LMS. It has the interactive features and options to create blended curriculums as needed.
Pros
- The use of triggers to create interactive learning
- The ability to use java script to customize special functions
- Easy to use and learn
- Easy to publish to review sites and to LMS
Cons
- I wish it has compatibility with MAC devices
- The audio tool could have some more realistic voice options
- The feedback site could have more advanced markup tools
Likelihood to Recommend
Well suited for elearning courses with required assessments. Also helpful when blended curriculums are needed. The review site is great when collecting all stakeholder feedback. Less suited for instructor led courses.
Articulate 360 is my go-to suite of e-learning tools
Use Cases and Deployment Scope
Articulate 360 is a powerful suite of tools for authoring E-Learning at my company. Rise allows me to create engaging trainings that present extremely well visually, but with rapid production times. Storyline allows me to create E-Learning with very sophisticated activities and technical animations. We choose Rise or Storyline based on a training's parameters and production time. Rise, being cloud-based and templated, looks great and development time is shortened. It has a big enough feature set to be engaging for the learner. We turn to Storyline when we need custom features or a more involved project (animation, branching, gamification, etc. )
Pros
- Flexibility of e-learning production environments
- A suite with focused tools that integrate extremely well
- Industry standard software with some of the best training content by user groups and Articulate staff
Cons
- Feature suggestions take a long time to be added to the software
- Would like to see deeper options for some of the learner engagement activities (Drag and drop, sliders, etc. )
- Occasionally will not save as expected, and you have to create a copy to keep working on a project
Likelihood to Recommend
E-learning trainings are the focus of Articulate 360. Rise is easy to use, offering polished final products but with rapid production. Storyline is powerful authoring software perfectly suited to sophisticated projects that require custom interactions or technical animations. Conditional triggers and javascript capability make Storyline as customizable as you might need for a training with advanced audience interaction.
Articulate ease of use makes it stand out.
Use Cases and Deployment Scope
We use Articulate 360 to create learning opportunities and experiences for our business partners. It is an excellent tool for quickly and effectively building training modules. We use it for teams ranging from 5 people to building enterprise-wide training for 15,000+. The tool is easy to learn and outputs in an easy-to-use format.
Pros
- Empower users to build great trainings.
- Provide content library and templates that give a solid foundation.
- Output content in a way that you can easily upload to an LMS and distribute to your audience.
Cons
- There are some minor issues with screen recording that make the experience feel more clunky than some other tools.
- There are feature requests on the community pages that have been there for a very long time and have not been added.
Likelihood to Recommend
The tool is incredible for eLearning development and usable by people who have very little experience, all the way up to industry-leading innovators. It guides you along on how to use it, but it doesn’t restrict you if you want to do some really cool, creative things. Again, the screen recording functionality could be a little more seamless.
My review of Articulate 360
Use Cases and Deployment Scope
We use Articulate360 to author our elearning courses. It makes it so easy to create engaging, attractive, and beautiful courses. We primarily design courses for healthcare professionals and we are able to design comprehensive courses even on difficult clinical subject matter. We trust that Articulate 360 will create courses that look polished and professional, which helps our users trust our content.
Pros
- Customization
- Attractive design
- Opportunities for interactivity
Cons
- Would like even more customization options
Likelihood to Recommend
Articulate 360 is well suited to all types of elearning. Rise 360, in particular, is very well-suited to creating didactic courses and courses or curriculum where you need to follow specific steps. It is less effective when creating reference type materials. I also wish that Rise 360, in particular, had a few more options for customizing multiple choice questions.
My personal review of Articulate 360
Use Cases and Deployment Scope
We use Articulate 360 to create e-learnings, e-books, and videos. We work with different areas of the business to create these items (if needed). We use videos for promotions or informational content. E-learnings are used to address gaps in knowledge and skill. We use storyline to create scenario based learning through the use of branching scenarios. Rise is used for more quick turnaround e-learnings, but we also use Rise for e-books as well-which we share on our company intranet.
Pros
- Ai Voiceover
- Ai word edit
- Lots of versatility with storyline to customize courses
Cons
- naming variables in storyline
- Ai course creation using source materials
- Pronunciation of some words in AI VO
Likelihood to Recommend
Well suited for video creation, branching scenarios, knowledge checks.
Could be improved: Ai content creation from source content, collection analytics and data, and better image generation. Ai images are not particularly great. If you as for an image of a hand, it might show you a hand with 7 fingers. It also takes a while for an image to be generated by Ai. Also, if I want to create custom icons in Storyline, the timeline can get messy-so I use ppt for that instead.
The Option of Choice.
Use Cases and Deployment Scope
I am an external consultant and use Storyline to design and develop e-learning for clients. The functionality, which includes layers,
triggers, states, and variables, provides flexibility and creative
possibilities that can’t be found in any other authoring tools, which lets me design and develop virtually anything I can imagine, or my clients may need.
Pros
- Storyline provides states that support branching and different audiences.
- Storyline provides variables that remember information throughout a lesson.
- Storyline provides triggers that give me all the versatility of writing code without having to write code.
Cons
- AI images sometimes include unwanted text.
- So much content in eLearning Heroes it's hard to sort it all out.
- eLearning Heroes does not have a simple, high-level "tech support" button.
Likelihood to Recommend
Storyline delivers the versatility to do about anything needed, such as branching, personalizing, adding a music bed, animating, using AI for images, sound effects, text, and very realistic simulations. Rise is good if all that is needed are slides, including one or more images plus some text, and this is made easier with an abundance of templates to use.
