WordPress hosting but it could be cheaper

Rating: 4 out of 10
Incentivized

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use WordPress on it. Web hosting is used with cPanel. We want to communicate our services to potential customers. It is a small website with not many visitors. You can use mulitiple installations of WordPress. We do not use the Bluehost email services. Hosting is acceptable for small sites. WordPress is running on a shared server.

Pros

  • WordPress
  • cPanel
  • File Manager

Cons

  • Price
  • Speed
  • Email

Likelihood to Recommend

It is very easy to install WordPress and get it up and running very quickly. Backups and email could be better. You would have to use some custom plugins in WordPress to get better backups and email features. Shared hosting does not give you full control over the hosting. If you are only doing WordPress, then it gets the job done. It is still more expensive than Digital Ocean.

Excellent hosting provider for small businesses

Rating: 7 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Bluehost is a good hosting service provider if you are looking for an affordable price and limited features compared to other service providers in the market. It also provides a built-in website builder, making it easier to design a website in a very short time. But the templates are fewer. It has a simple User interface so even a starter can handle things quickly.

Pros

  • hosting
  • website builder service
  • Good cutsomer services

Cons

  • It has limited templates in their website builder library

Likelihood to Recommend

While I was considering various options for hosting my website Bluehost impressed me with its different hosting plans. It gives me the power to choose according to my needs. And also its simple UI and payment integration made my experience awesome.

BlueHost - Great for Basic Hosting Needs

Rating: 4 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Bluehost to host 2 different websites for company use. The websites we use are WordPress; previously, they were Drupal sites. We have implemented Cloud Flare through Bluehost and site encryption. We have used some domain management. Most of our usage with Bluehost focuses on hosting and the Cpanel.

Pros

  • WordPress Integration
  • Hosting setup
  • File Manager

Cons

  • CloudFlare Integration
  • Domain Settings

Likelihood to Recommend

Blue host is well suited for basic website hosting. It has all the basic and simple features you could need for creating a website, especially a WordPress site. There are specific plans for different types of hosting that may fit specific use cases, but the minimum plans are sufficient for most small businesses.

Bluehost is a great hosting option - especially for smaller companies

Rating: 9 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We manage a handful of domains and websites on Bluehost. All the websites are small to medium sized sites. Only the marketing department uses the system. Our websites are pretty important to our business and so Bluehost is pretty important to us.

Pros

  • Relatively inexpensive.
  • Setting up emails.
  • Pretty good uptime.
  • Great customer service.
  • Free SSL certificates with websites.

Cons

  • Their new dashboard is slightly confusing.
  • The renewal rates are higher and hard to find discounts for it.

Likelihood to Recommend

Bluehost is great for smaller and medium website hosting. I haven't found a company that does better in their price range. There occasionally are slower speeds and maybe another host would be better. But overall I've been pretty happy.

For Low-Budget Or Low-Traffic Websites, Bluehost is a contender

Rating: 7 out of 10
Incentivized

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We used Bluehost to host all our non-ecommerce websites because they have a very low-overhead, low-maintenance setup for every single one of their hosting plans. For the less important websites in our portfolio, that is a very important aspect that we consider before choosing a hosting provider, right behind pricing, security and speed.

Pros

  • Quick setup.
  • Affordability.
  • Access to customer service.

Cons

  • Website speed.
  • Pricing plan flexibility.
  • Support not as fast nor as knowledgeable as other hosting providers.

Likelihood to Recommend

For a budget hosting provider, they are definitely in the top tier and should always be considered. For this tier of hosting providers, it really comes down to whose pricing plans are structured in a way that suits you most. Some price themselves better for single sites, some for 2-5, and some for 6+ on the same plan. That's the major difference.

Too simple for customized WordPress sites

Rating: 2 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We attempted to implement Bluehost as our hosting provider last year after our web host unexpectedly ceased operations. We had heard good things about Bluehost, and we read many positive reviews on the internet about them being WordPress friendly, so we decided to give them a chance. That was unfortunate for us, a severe error.

Pros

  • If you have a very simple website and lack Substantial knowledge of how to code, this is your Host!
  • User interface is very simple and cleanly laid out

Cons

  • Bluehost is very simple. For us, it was a little too simple
  • It is harder to customize your site within Bluehost

Likelihood to Recommend

If you have a straightforward website or a simple blog and don’t know a lot of HTML or CSS or can’t edit code in any way, Bluehost is perfect. For us, there are tweaks that we like to make to our WordPress pages that Bluehost could not accommodate, and therefore it was no longer a viable option for my company.

One-Stop Website Solution

Rating: 10 out of 10
Incentivized

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We hold an annual education conference and use Bluehost (and their tools) for creating, maintaining, and hosting our site. Their "all in one" approach lets us set up a custom domain, build the website, and track visitors. Being able to manage everything from one place has simplified the entire conference experience for the people who manage the event.

Pros

  • Customer service/tech support is simply top-notch. Being able to pick up the phone, get help, and not get charged for it is rare in the tech-support world.
  • Their Dashboard/C-panel has a wide selection of popular tools and options to make website design and all that goes with it very easy. Lots of choices; they are more than a simple hosting service.
  • Keeping their tools up-to-date. I never have to worry about upgrades or having the latest features; it just happens automatically!

Cons

  • Although their upgrades are generally awesome, when the GUI changes, it can be a challenge to find what you are looking for (i.e. "where did that go?").
  • It might be nice to have a "simplified" view for new users; the number of options can be overwhelming for someone not familiar with web development/hosting.

Likelihood to Recommend

Bluehost is well suited for a person or organization looking for an all-in-one solution for having a web presence. Both new and experienced users can take advantage of their tools at a very reasonable investment of time and money. They are dependable regarding "uptime" and provide first-rate customer service and tech support. Trying to cobble together all that they offer from separate vendors would be a tremendous waste of effort; Bluehost has it all!

Reliable, cheap hosting that has kept up to date.

Rating: 7 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We currently use Bluehost as our playground for web development and small projects. Bluehost is really quick and simple to set up Wordpress instances, DNS and has a reliant Cpanel. New Users can frequently get good deals or free domains for a year on their first signup and they have decent support, better than the competitors at similar price points.

Pros

  • The SSL is included in the hosting.
  • Price Point is great for small projects.
  • Bluehost has 24/7 support online and the techs that are knowledgable, unlike GoDaddy.

Cons

  • Simplistic hosting might not be good if you have high volumes of traffic.
  • Phone support could be better.

Likelihood to Recommend

Bluehost is easy to use and much more affordable than other hosting platforms. I also love that if I ever have trouble with something the customer service is available on an instant chat and have always been able to help me get my problem resolved. Bluehost is great for small businesses just getting started or experimenting with web hosting on your own.

The Essential Website Hosting Investment

Rating: 9 out of 10
Incentivized

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Bluehost is a well-known website hosting provider that I decided to move over to as it also hosted Wordpress. After 3 years with our previous provider, I was looking for a company that provided a more cost-effective plan that had some of the essential features required to host an e-commerce website that our clients could trust. After a few months of researching along with checking out comparison websites, it was clear Bluehost was the one that suited the direction we wanted to go.

Pros

  • Bluehost provides a cost-effective website hosting bundle for WordPress.
  • Transferring a domain name was super easy and saved me money on the domain name and domain privacy renewal.
  • Provides a basic free SSL certificate for all websites and offers unlimited websites on the pro plan.

Cons

  • Setting up wasn't difficult but I think for some having tutorial videos would have been better than screenshots.
  • Provide more than one free domain on the Plus plan.
  • Offer site migration - not an option I saw when I signed up.

Likelihood to Recommend

I have already started recommending Bluehost to friends and other business associates that were in the stages of moving web hosting providers. For so many of them, they were paying ridiculously high monthly fees that didn't even include an SSL. Bluehost is definitely for the small business owner starting out with a budget and needing a website provider that offered the features that they could scale their business with. It's great for those that are comfortable with using Wordpress and are looking to create e-commerce trusted platforms. It is also a great investment for those who are planning or currently website designers who want to offer web hosting to their clients as it provides unlimited websites, storage and accounts on their plus plans. Bluehost is not for the small business owner who prefers to pay a monthly fee and does not have enough investment to pay for a 12, 24 or 36-month plan.

Bluehost - Great For Newcomers, Problematic For Existing Hosting

Rating: 4 out of 10
Incentivized

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I used Bluehost to manage website assets for various small businesses that wanted a website designed and hosted. I also used it to manage domain name records.

Pros

  • Hosting tools were fairly intuitive.
  • Billing was never a hassle.

Cons

  • Working with Bluehost support to move domains around (or away from Bluehost) was extremely difficult.
  • Support team had a slow turnaround time in my experience with them.

Likelihood to Recommend

If you're starting your website from scratch (i.e. purchasing a domain, looking for affordable hosting for newly created assets), then Bluehost will probably work fine for your needs. However, bear in mind that if you want to move to a competitor, Bluehost doesn't make it particularly easy to accomplish that.
