Box is being used in my current & previously worked organizations as document management platform, for sharing the technical deliverables to the client by safe and secure medium. This basically businesses to share the documents in any format and by assigning the document approval work flow. So we use this platform to share documents (deliverables) to the client, with safety, speed, approval work flow and also get the notifications for the same.
Pros
Document sharing in any format and without almost any size limit
Quick, real time notifications, end to end encryption
Very easy to use User Interface
Best for sharing technical documents
Cons
Need more futuristic features and better UI for beginner
Sometimes Performance is lagging by time delay in sharing or notification emails
Should have more offline features for remote site usages for customer
Likelihood to Recommend
It is well suited where documents are often shared between technical writers/document controller and end clients. Or where document is generated by specific domain specific owners and needs to be reviewed from Head or Subject Matter Expert of that department, so can be shared through this platform can keep the records of all the revisions and Revision control can be effectively achieved for future uses

I work as a Content Manager in Higher Education. We exclusively use Box to upload and share photos, videos, graphics, and any other pertinent content for the College. This cloud-based solution allows us to share large files with minimal effort to a centralized location. Upon uploading, my team has full visibility into the uploaded content.
Pros
Box has a phenomenal storage limit and houses 80% of our total content in the cloud
Box has a strong search feature that allows for ease of use when attempting to locate content
Box is compatible across Mac devices (iPhone, Mac, iPad, etc.) and offers a seamless transition for me when switching devices
Cons
Box's UI/UX leaves a lot to be desired. In comparison to platforms like Google Drive, Box is much less user-friendly and certain functions (such as renaming a folder) feels cumbersome.
Uploading times on Box are slow. Box also lacks a progress bar that articulates in minutes how long the uploading process will take, therefore, it feels as if you are waiting FOREVER for large files to upload.
The "share link" features are limited and doesn't allow people with the link to upload content to the folder.
Likelihood to Recommend
Box has its advantages. In working in higher education, it makes sense to have an enterprise-level content management solution that allows for full collaboration and visibility with the current content. Through Box, teams can upload large photo/video files and share them cross-functionally with a click of a button. Because the software is cloud-based, Box serves as a decent Digital Asset Management tool. Where Box needs assistance is its lack of infrastructure that could support massive content submission. For our use cases as a college, I would love to be able to create a Box folder link and send an email to our college community (students, alumni, faculty, etc.) that would allow everyone to upload relevant content. Ultimately, Box is a powerful storage solution that we use daily at the College.
Box is our primary cloud based data storage platform. It is the source of truth for our business data. We word directly from Box and collaborate on documents, utilising the built in communication tools.
Prior to utilising Box, we ran our own data server which was expensive to maintain, lacked collaboration features, was difficult to access remotely, and was less secure than Box.
Pros
Responsiveness
User experience
Feature rich
Cons
The e-sign functionality is catching up to other players
A built in templating feature
The AI rollout has been slow and remains at the highest pricing tiers
Likelihood to Recommend
Any business that requires the safe storage and access to its business documents would benefit from using Box. That would mean, almost any business.

We are using Box for document management purpose. Box is one of the best Document Delivery System tool available in market. Box also has free version which is having all the necessary features available for using tool perfectly and deciding if premium version is required or not. We need to prepare loading register of the document which we are going to upload and that feature is i think old fashioned apart from that totally recommended.
Pros
Document delivery very easily
Very fast document delivery
Free version is also available
Simple layout
Cons
Loading register requirement should be removed
Tool is basic, More features can ba added
Space restrictions should be removed from free version
Likelihood to Recommend
When document management system is required in any industry, Box can be used because it has no limit in usage scenario and best part is that Tool is supported in all the devices. So any document can be accessed from anywhere from any device, so on site this is so useful. Layout is very simple so everyone can easily use this
I used box extensively to manage thousands of data and programming files for mixed methods research projects with my research team. Much of the data that my team used for research projects had to be stored securely, and Box offers a secure method for storing files that met the criteria for our IRB approvals. My research team also needed to be able to collaborate and see file updates in real-time, which Box allowed us to do easily.
Pros
Box lets you securely store files.
Box makes it easy to collaborate and share files and documents with others.
Box allows you to sync files to your computer or the cloud to easily update files.
Cons
Sometimes the file syncing lags, which can result in team members accidentally working on outdated file versions.
The web-based version feels clunkier to use with lots of additional options that were not particularly useful for my team.
Likelihood to Recommend
I think Box is great for research teams or anyone that has a large number of files that need to be securely stored. Particularly in the case of social science research, where it is important to protect identifying data, Box is a great option. In cases where teams need a more reliable means for real-time collaboration, I would probably consider a different alternative.

Box is very useful to share the file across the clients & team mates in a easy way and we can store so much in cloud in different folder and easy to share cloud version. And we can download the cloud version in a easy way.

Box is yet another entry into the cloud storage and sharing space for me. I have used it extensively for file sharing thanks to its simple interface and standalone apps. Media files, PDF documents, and other files have been a breeze to share within Box, and I appreciate the flexibility.
Pros
File sharing
File organization
Interface simplicity
Box notes
Cons
analytics for file viewing
more integrations with project management tools
Likelihood to Recommend
If you need to create a wiki-style reference for a team, this can be very useful. Box notes are a great way to do this, and links to your files make for rich content. One use might be to think of Box Notes as README files like the ones that accompany software applications.
Mainly used to store larger files that I need for work and to collaborate with co-workers. All of my main work files are stored in Box, so I can access it from any computer if necessary. I also make and edit project-level files as needed, as well as reports and other relevant files.
Pros
Centralize files and data
Enables collaboration within company
Flexibility with local drive
Secure access
Cons
Sync can be a little buggy
Troubleshooting is not very intuitive
Likelihood to Recommend
- Daily scenarios, such as saving and editing work files that I work on - Requesting for other workers to review my work and to edit as necessary - Forgetting to bring my work laptop somewhere and being able to access important files without worrying about carrying my work laptop around everywhere - Accessing files from my mobile device in situations when I am not able to access my work laptop
We use Box to store our sales collateral, agreements, videos, etc., which allows us to collaborate with one another regardless of whether we're in the same office or on the other side of the world. I believe their tagline is "Access your data anywhere, anytime, and from any device," and that's the truth. As long as you have Internet connectivity you have access to everything stored in Box, and if you know you're going to be somewhere without Internet, you can download what you'll need ahead of time by dragging it into your quick access folder. It's a fantastic platform, and although we're a very small company, I can easily see how a company with hundreds of employees could securely share files and collaborate in real-time.
Pros
Strong security in the cloud
Large storage limits
Real-time collaboration with co-workers from anywhere
Cons
For how we use it it's fine. I don't have any suggestions for improvement.
Likelihood to Recommend
Box is great for secure file sharing and collaboration. However, it's not an appropriate solution to be used as an end-point back-up solution.
Weve been using Box to share information with external vendors. Its mostly been used by myself and people in quality who needs to be sharing documents with external providers without providing access to our company shared drives.
Pros
Simple and easy interface
Good permission control
Solid security measures
Cons
Design really resembles other similar programs...
The desktop sync version and MS word sync functions are a bit slow
Likelihood to Recommend
For my needs, they are satisfactory. No better or worst than competitors. I have used them for sharing information with out-of-organization users, people had no problem accessing files on Box. The only thing is that people are less familiar with Box than its competitors.
