Box has 2 main plans, Individuals and Teams and Business. The Individuals and Teams plan has 3 editions, from $0 to $14, while the Business Plan has 4 editions, from $20 to $47. All Business plans offer a 14-day free trial before commitment. There is also customizable pricing available in the Business plan at the Enterprise Plus tier. Box Pricing Information

Depending on your specific use case, Box has pricing etched out for Individuals and Teams as well as Businesses. If you are at the Enterprise level and have highly specific needs, you can contact Box directly to obtain a custom plan.

Individuals and Teams

The plans below are well suited to personal, freelance, and very small business use cases. The pricing is extremely competitive with other products and services in this market, and the reliability is top-notch.

Individual: Free

The first tier is a completely free plan. This is a personal plan offered to a single user, looking for secure file storage and sharing.

The Individual Plan offers up to 10 GB of storage with each file having a 250 MB file upload limit. They offer easy integrations with commonly used suites such as Microsoft 365 and Google Suite.

Rest assured that your files can be safely shared no matter when and where you are, with their Anytime, anywhere access. If you are worried about security, you have the option of using 2-factor authentication for that second level of protection. If you step away from the Desktop you can use the Box Mobile App on your device, to enjoy the features on-the-go.

This level includes the other standard features in the Individuals and Teams category such as standard customer support, online/self-paced training, note-taking and project management.

Personal Pro: $14/month ($10/monthly if billed annually)

The second tier moves from a free to a billed plan, that offers 25% savings if billed annually. These savings are available for new customers only.

This plan is still geared towards a single user, but someone looking for a little more flexibility and wanting or needing to upgrade their storage. At this level you get up to 100 GB of storage and 5 GB file upload that supports 10 file versions. The previous plan only supports 1 file version.

You also get the rest of the standard features, but with the additional storage and supported file versions there’s a lot more that can be done. You can upload different files, make changes and if done in error, you can compare your data in prior versions as they are now accessible in this tier.

Business Starter: $7 per user/per month ($5 per user/per month if billed annually)

The third and final tier in this pricing model is best recommended for small businesses, especially those in their early stages. The price offered is per user, with a minimum of 3 users. That amounts to $21 monthly for 3 people to collaborate, only $7 more than the Individual Pro price that a single user pays. The maximum number of users is 10.

Similar to the previous tiers, all standard features are included with this package. Like the Personal Pro plan you get up to 100 GB of storage, but heres the caveat: that is for the entire account. If you have the maximum of 10 users all serving a different function within the group, that storage amount starts to look a lot smaller than it is. However, with a good game plan storage overuse can easily be averted.

The file upload limit is reduced to 2 GB per file at this level, which is smaller than the Personal Pro limit of 5 GB. The logic that can be assumed is a method of reducing one’s ability to exceed the storage limit. Small files take up less space.

This plan also lessens the pressure for small business owners or teams that require collaborative and integrated software to carry out their work effectively, because the price point hits that affordable sweet spot.

Business Plans

For those with larger storage needs or more users, the Business plans offer a wider array of services and much larger sizes. Prices can scale quickly, so it is important to ensure you are paying for what you need and nothing more. All of these plans offer unlimited users, and a minimum of 3. Best of all, storage is unlimited, allowing even the most data-heavy companies to save to their hearts content.

With the unlimited storage and users, the more expensive plans are largely for those requiring large single file uploads, more advanced integrations, or more API’s. For those who do not need these, save money by sticking to the lower tiers.

Business: $20 per user/ per month ($15 per user/ per month if billed annually)

At this level users get to cross-collaborate with employees within their entire organization and take advantage of the additional features available in this pricing model.

Though the file upload limit is 5 GB this plan affords unlimited storage to satisfy business needs.

Along with the common integrations of Microsoft 365 and Google Suite, businesses get Slack and can choose 1 additional enterprise app integration like Adobe or Salesforce. For niche startup companies or firms this can be of great benefit. It can help streamline work processes and enable workload automation for efficiency in the day-to-day processes.

Users also get Box Relay which offers standard workflow automation and Box Sign for unlimited e-signatures on the web application as needed.

Business Plus: $33 per user/ per month ($25 per user/ per month if billed annually)

This second tier in the Business Plan is the most popular choice amongst Box Business users. Thi is well suited for new and small businesses and even more well established companies looking for better content management within their organization.

A business gets Unlimited storage coupled with file uploads of up to 15 GB in size. With access provided to an unlimited number of external collaborators, users get to work cross-functionally with outside teams.

Companies also get to select up to 10 additional enterpise app integrations, custom metadata and metadata templates and advanced search filters. The tools provided when you purchase Business Plus really help to justify the price.

Enterprise: $47 per user/ per month ($35 per user/ per month if billed annually)

This was the highest tier provided until a recent addition of Enterprise Plus. This premium package has all the features and then some, that would be required or wanted by large businesses.

It boasts advanced content management and data protection features that ensure HIPAA/FedRAMP compliance. One also gets to upload large files, up to 50 GB in size.

Business establishments in healthcare and associated industries would find great use when sharing files with patients virtually as they would not have to worry about privacy violations when doing so. This is further aided by the additional document watermarking feature which is useful in validating legal documents created and distributed by the company.

Box Enterprise’s focus on privacy protection extends to outside users as they are now equipped with 2-Factor Authentication, encryption and password policy enforcement (for every user) as yet another data protection stronghold. There is still a high level of control and protecton over file distribution and usage of data even outside the organization’s network, with these in place.

Enterprise Plus: $Custom

Box has taken it a step further with their newest and highest tier that allows file uploads of up to 150 GB. At this level customers can contact Box to create a package to determine the total features and receive a custom quote.

Enterprise Plus has all of the immaculate features offered at the Enterprise level with Box add-ons. These include Box Shield, Governance, Shuttle, Platform, enhanced services and so much more.

You get enterprise level security to power your entire organization, sophisticated threat detection (Shield) and 24/7/365 acess to technical support and services for any issue that may arise (Product Support).

This tier is widely used by big corporations that may require a specific set of tools to ensure smoother work processes. Fortune 500 companies across all industries rely heavily on the Enterprise level tiers due to their unique needs.

If your organization does not need all of the complexities and add-ons in this package consider downgrading to the Enterprise or Business Plus tiers which still offer a wide array of services.
