We are utilizing Hexnode UEM to monitor our fleet of Samsung tablets throughout the company. We use Hexnode UEM to remotely monitor the tablets and install the various applications that the users will be needing. We are able to monitor the tablet usage and ensure it is functioning properly along with providing remote support for our users as needed.
Pros
Device Management
Application Installation
Patch Management
Remote Support
Cons
Simplify the initial experience with Hexnode
Very minor issues/glitches may arise with the setup of devices in Hexnode UEM
Notifications about tablets being offline
Likelihood to Recommend
We enjoy the ability to remotely support our end users with their tablets while they are traveling. I've had the ability to provide support to some of our remote sales users as they are working at a customers location. However, sometimes the remote view can be a bit of a lagging issue that makes things a bit difficult. Though overall this has been a great experience that helps us support our various users throughout the company.
We use Hexnode UEM for MDM (Mobile Device Mangement). We mostly manage Microsoft tablets remotely. The UI is good, but it could be smoother. Whenever our client faces any issues with the tablet, we reach out to them and ensure that their tablet is online so we can take remote of it. Once the remote session initiates, we are able to work on the device without any lag.
Pros
Remote Device Management
Ease of Use
User Experience
Cons
The command pushed under Action History takes time (longer than usual) to deploy despite the internet is good.
We can't switch to any other tab while taking the device on remote.
Sometimes, the enrollment process is bit clumsy.
Likelihood to Recommend
For device management, it is a good platform but there are certain areas where there is a need for improvement like issues with deploying commands, unable to switch to other tabs while device is under remote, etc.
Useful for monitoring a fleet of OSX or Win machines, ensuring security applications are installed, and that device configurations are compliant. Automatic reporting is useful to get compliance reports, as well as instant reporting when a device moves out of compliance. Onboarding and offboarding operations automation is handy, with the ability to preprovision standard applications and configurations on new machines, as well as to remote wipe during device offboarding.
Pros
Fleet compliance monitoring
Remote onboarding
Remote offboarding
Automatic fleet configuration
Cons
No Linux Support
Remote operations may need to be applied multiple times to work
Inaccurate system statistics
Likelihood to Recommend
Strongest for managing Windows machines, less for for OSX. Automatic email reports the instant machines move in or out of compliance are handy, as well as weekly (pick you schedule) reports delivered via email. The ability to pick remote applications for install has limited support in their online application library.
We use Hexnode to manage our 660 tablets deployed at our locations across the US. We love how we can group tablets by location using Hexnode, allowing us to assign a tablet to a location and Hexnode automatically downloads the appropriate applications to each device. Hexnode also allows easy updating of apps making support a breeze. The ease of getting in and out of kiosk mode allows us to service the devices with an on-site team member, saving us from sending a truck-roll to the location.
Pros
Kiosk mode
Remote management of software
Remote management of updates
Cons
Remote view is a bit laggy
Apple Device support, but may be more on Apple's side
Better notifications when a tablet is offline/under-charged
Likelihood to Recommend
iOS support is a bit limited but may be a security limit with iOS devices. Would like to be able to control devices without added applications needing to be installed on tablets. Other issues we face are more self-imposed from purchasing competitors and trying to implement their ABM accounts into our systems.

We are utilizing Hexnode UEM to manage a fleet of Android tablets distributed across the country and in locations mostly without any onsite IT support. Hexnode UEM allows our central IT team to remotely manage these tablets, support, upgrade and ensure they are working optimally without the need to travel to all of the remote locations.
Pros
Remote access and management of Android devices
Kiosk mode lockdowns
Remote distribution of apps and settings.
Cons
Remote screen sharing on Android 15 limited by Android security settings requiring user interaction.
Can be confusing at times with so many settings and options
Likelihood to Recommend
If you need to remotely manage a fleet of tablets/mobile devices it is perfect. Also if you need to lockdown those devices in a kiosk mode setting it works amazingly.
If you want to enforce corporate style MDM settings I feel like other solutions can work a bit better.

We use Hexnode to monitor our shared ios devices and training computers that are handled by a large number of employees. We are still implementing this at all our locations but we currently have about 60 devices, which about 50 are ipads, about 5 are shared iphones, and 5 are training windows devices. Before Hexnode, we had some issues with theft, but now that we have a geofence on everything so we can lock them if they leave location, and are able to lock things down what they can install so they are not as tempting to steal in the first place.
Pros
Kiosk mode ipads
Remote Management
Geofencing
Cons
It was a little confusing to get started
Windows kiosk not as easy to use
Difficult to remove activation lock
Likelihood to Recommend
Our business is currently looking to roll out about 100 shared employee phones at our 50 locations. Since phones are easy for someone to walk off with, geofencing is necessary. Additionally, we are also looking to roll out 3-6 ipads at all our locations. Not only does this help with theft, but it also makes ipads easy to set up without an apple id. Before, we got ipads locked to apple ids or employees changing the passwords and making it very difficult to continue to use them after that employee leaves. With Hexnode, we can download everything remotely from our Apple business account.

We used Hexnode for Kiosk Lockdown of Android Devices. There are several android smartphones in our company. After a few trials, we decided on Hexnode MDM since we wanted to lock these devices down. We use the android kiosk rules such as digital signage and website kiosk mode to prevent access to illegal and unwanted websites. Also, use lock task mode to restrict the navigation options. The option to silently install enterprise applications to the devices is a huge win as well, making it much easier with app management with deletion, updating of webapps, enterprise apps, and store apps.
Pros
Android zero-touch enrollment allows bulk enrollment of corporate-owned android devices with a single click.
With the help of the dynamic device grouping function, devices may be grouped in accordance with specific pre-configured criteria.
The kiosk mode supports both single-app kiosk mode, in which the device is restricted to using a single app, and multi-app kiosk mode, in which the device is in kiosk mode but has access to a number of other programs and files.
Cons
The bulk enrolment process is time-consuming and resource-intensive for the server.
The policies take a while to be successful when pushed together in bulk. Especially when a set of policies are pushed to a dynamic group, it takes a lot longer than for other static groups.
Smartwatches and other wearables cannot be enrolled in or managed.
Likelihood to Recommend
Hexnode was best suited for us to manage android devices and more specifically for Kiosk Lockdown and restrictions. Hexnode being a UEM offers support for platforms as well. It certainly does open doors for us to increase and take up more devices under the management of Hexnode. As said earlier, Hexnode does not support wearables as of now; would be great if they could start supporting them soon.

Since Covid, the majority of our staff have used personal mobile devices for work. We wanted to be able to create work profiles as different containers on your own devices since separating the work file from the personal file was a laborious process. It enabled the storage of work-related applications and information in a distinct, secure container. We also need total control over these job profiles, therefore after evaluating several alternatives, we settled on Hexnode UEM. Because of Hexnode UEM's enterprise and general functionality for managing androids, we decided on it. The ability to establish work profiles with distinct badges for business-related applications and files was provided by Android enterprise devices.
Pros
We could secretly install applications and push rules, which solely affected the device's work profile.
Users will be able to enrol their devices using Okta or Gsuite authentication if Hexnode UEM is integrated with those directories.
Even online apps and business or in-house apps that are not available in any app stores were able to be secretly installed and pushed using Hexnode UEM's app management tools.
Cons
We utilize a small number of Windows devices in addition to Android ones, however, Hexnode UEM has very few Windows-specific restrictions compared to those for other platforms.
When we turned on the remote control, the Hexnode for Work app would periodically crash.
We had to get in touch with their tech support to resolve the issue because the Multi app kiosk mode for Windows devices was not correctly pushed.
Likelihood to Recommend
The IT department had a nightmare when our firm embraced BYOD. Maintaining the security of company data got difficult due to the explosion in device numbers. So, for our team, adding a UEM to our business network was the finest choice of 2020. But was not great for IoT wearable devices.

We chose Hexnode due of its strong device management features for safeguarding macOS, tvOS, and iOS devices because we only utilise Apple products. The Apple Business Manager integrations offered by Hexnode make it simple to enrol new devices and configure zero-touch setups. Additionally, Hexnode's site allows direct configuration of Filevault and the mac Firewall, two built-in security tools by Apple.
Pros
Setting mandatory applications and the silent installation of enterprise apps.
Hexnode integrates with the Apple Device Enrollment Program and Apple Volume Purchase Program, enabling bulk software purchases and device enrollment.
Blocklisted applications would be uninstalled from the device and would not be available for download again.
Cons
Devices running watchOS cannot be handled or enrolled.
The policies under WIFI, which allowed certain websites to be blocked using website certificates, were complicated .
The app management features provide the ability to push the installation of corporate apps on the devices. Even though it was successful on the Hexnode Portal, this feature periodically malfunctioned, and the apps were not loaded.
Likelihood to Recommend
We had a large and capable IT team, but the number of devices increased as the company grew more prominent. The team needed a remote solution to manage these devices, so we started looking for an MDM.
