Solutions is designed to make cloud adoption easier, allowing the user to optimize the
value of existing on-premises infrastructure, while leveraging the
same tools, technologies and skills in the cloud. Gain rapid scalability,
deployment in 35+ global data centers and access to disaster
recovery, backup, security and compliance solutions from an array of ecosystem
partners.
To address varying workload needs, IBM Cloud offers both client-managed and IBM-managed VMware solutions. The client-managed solution, IBM Cloud for VMware Solutions Dedicated, includes VMware vSphere and VMware vCenter options in a monthly subscription model on a single-tenant infrastructure. Both run on bare metal servers enabling secure, single-tenant deployments. Additionally, the same root level hypervisor access can be retained as with an on-premises cloud. These models improve compatibility and increase cloud agility.
The IBM-managed solution, IBM Cloud for VMware Solutions Shared, leverages VMware vCloud Director in an hourly or monthly consumption model on a multi-tenant infrastructure. This self-service solution provides a way to start migrating virtual machines (VMs) to the cloud in a matter of minutes. IBM Cloud manages the hypervisor, so users don’t have to worry about managing, patching or updates. The vendor describes this model as flexible and cost-effective for scalability.

IBM Cloud for VMware Solutions enables our organization to optimize the available on-premises tools, technologies, and skills by leveraging them with Clouds capabilities, improving compatibility, and increasing our agility. It makes us perform live VM migration processes easily with excellent management console functionalities and helps maintain the same level of hypervisor security and access as with the On-Premises. Highly flexible and cost-effective product.

overview of IBM Cloud for VMware
1. Conducted a POC on a project to Migration of VMware workloads to the cloud in order to expand use of cloud resources and to allow more flexibility and security. IBM Cloud had free trials and good support to facilitate this process.

Since this was a POC, it was nice to see the expansion of options on IBM Cloud and the potential in decreasing on-prem resource use and costs and its limitations. It was evident that there is a robust consideration for disaster recovery and the security of data.
This solution is easy to set the interface and get started to manage business data and also manage various companies' information. The tool has the best intelligent capability and capabilities to easy migration of various different data across many other Cloud platforms. IBM Cloud for VMware Solution is an excellent choice for big data processing and the data protection capability is incredible and very on reporting.

A perfect product for existing IBM users
I have used it to migrate my existing setup from traditional OS to IBM Cloud platforms hosted systems and this is really easy to migrate and maintain the LPM functionality. It was being used by one of our clients and has really helped them ensure better monitoring of their infrastructure and maintain availability.

I would like to say that this product [IBM Cloud VMware Solutions] really helped to migrate the existing setup to the cloud easily, as IBM's support team is really good with documentation. Our client had a one-stop backup and compliance solution. There were [a] few cases of performing recovery too, which was sorted easily as a backup solution [which] is handy.

IBM Cloud - A True Cloud Environment
IBM Cloud for VMware Solutions is being used by our organization to help lower costs and allow our environment to be in the cloud. No requirements for on site environment. It allows for a single vendor for billing, licensing, deployment and support. There are also add ones to help for things like disaster recovery.

Moving VMware stack to the IBM Cloud has made our IT decisions easier, efficient and it also has saved us time and money. We have 24x7 support and don't have the need for 24x7 on site IT support. Costs have been stable and decreased especially since we were looking to upgrade aging hardware[.]
IBM Cloud for VMware was evaluated during a proof of concept project where we compared the viability of the product against other cloud solutions. I am only aware of its usage by our department however it is a large company and it may be used in other pockets. The business problem we tried to solve with the product was the ability to burst workloads into the public cloud in order to meet customer demand before company-owned physical hardware could be deployed.

The goal of using IBM Cloud for VMware was to burst existing workloads into the cloud on-demand in order to meet customer demand before physical hardware could be deployed in-country. IBM Cloud for VMware Solutions
vSphere on IBM Cloud is being used to have and deal with a sub part of VMs used for explicit inside applications. It is being utilized simply by the IT office, and it permits us to zero in more on the actual applications as opposed to agonizing over the actual foundation for these basic applications.
- Adaptable valuing relying upon size and scale.
- The presentation is first rate. Our on-prem climate was continually experiencing slack and general languor. With IBM running everything, it's much smoother.
- Start another group as little as one ESXi worker or scale a current bunch.
- The web interface part could utilize some work. Especially, execution in various programs.
- The underlying design interaction could be a touch more smoothed out.
Having the option to use existing VMWare ESX managers to help and keep up the climate has assisted with making a consistent stage for our activities. This makes it simple to get our information across various groups and reestablish when required.

Low cost but no support
We were looking to migrate our VMware workloads into a hosted VMware solution. While the pricing is very competitive, the support is lacking or basically nonexistent. The product is also extremely slow and the interface lacks quite a bit. The vCloud director interface is standard, but it's so slow to respond that it's almost unusable at times, and the disks are so slow its not suitable for any real workloads. We upgraded to advanced support but they were not really any help--just responded a bit faster (two days vs. a week).

- Documentation is out of date and incorrect for the most part
- IBM employees and salespeople are not aware of features or offerings
- Does not integrate the Zerto, only Veeam and has limited options for data migration
We ultimately chose another provider with better support, but the product offering is good, it just lacks support and other offerings.
IBM Cloud for VMware Solutions is being used throughout our entire organization. It allows us to use the IBM Cloud to host our VMware servers, thus allowing us to minimize the number of VMware servers we have in our on-site data centers. It also allows us to expand our capacity when needed so that we can serve both our internal and external customers more efficiently and in a cost-effective manner.
- Expandability: Allows us to add more capacity very easily.
- We like that IBM is a one-stop shop that offers a complete setup without having to deal with multiple vendors.
- The startup implementation was a pretty difficult process.
- The documentation we felt was rather lacking and could be improved.
The overall impact in moving our current VMware stack to the IBM Cloud has been a positive one. Our current data centers are almost at capacity, so moving to the IBM Cloud has allowed us to minimize the need for new data centers. We also feel our data is safe and secure within the IBM Cloud, and we really like the automated backup and disaster recovery features.

Scalability, reliability and sensibility.
It gives us multiple storage options, an additional layer of security as well as high availability. Replication is a snap when we have needed it. Having admin access to vCenter Server allows easy of manageability without the hassle and limitations an onsite solution only restricted us too prior to implementation.

vSphere for your Enterprise
It is used by IT departments to manage their virtual servers and not throughout all of the organization. It allows IT departments to manage and reboot the devices that they are responsible for without having to contact the server team. It also allows the server team to have a centralized area to manage all devices.

Hybrid cloud initiative, another site as our data center recovery.
It's a challenge to have another site as DR and maintaining it to the level of our product site. IBM Cloud allows us not to worry about maintaining another site. It's easy to get started with IBM cloud, transferring initial seeds, and maintaining replicating data.

Fun on IBM Cloud
We use IBM Cloud solutions for our data platform for one of our revenue-generating applications. It is our infrastructure for our data platform so it no longer involves manual management. This has been great to give me more time in my day and be confident that our data is secure.

- Provide more SaaS based solutions and platforms
Being able to leverage existing VMWare ESX administrators to support and maintain the environment has helped to create a seamless platform for our operations. This makes it easy to get our data across multiple teams and restore when needed.

IBM Cloud - The simple way to connect!
VMware vSphere on IBM cloud is used in my department. It currently helps us address [being able to] connect different cloud providers as a service. The business problem it address[es] is that the individuals can use IBM Cloud as well as AWS and use Zadara from it.

Good Solution
Our department needs to be able to have a visualization of internal users. We also use the service for exploration in VDI. IBM Cloud for VMware helps our team collaborate efficiently and reliably.

IBM Cloud for VMware solutions has been great for saving data center costs. We can keep backup data off of these servers and invest in a cloud solution that has been reliable and fast. We haven't run into any problems with scalability and the software has been perfect for data recovery.

Our pleasant experience with vsphere cloud
vSphere on IBM cloud is being utilized to host and manage a sub section of VMs utilized for specific internal applications. It is being used only by the IT department, and it allows us to focus more on the applications themselves rather than worrying about the physical infrastructure for these critical apps.
- The performance is top notch. Our on-prem environment was always suffering from lag and general sluggishness. With IBM running everything, it's much smoother.
- It's always up to date. Our previous environment was always lacking the latest updates and security features. Our audit department enjoys having the peace of mind that everything is up to date.
- They handle the security of the environment. It allows our security team to focus on higher priority issues. They dont have to worry about making sure our systems are secured.
- I wish it were a bit easier to manage user access.
- The initial configuration process could be a bit more streamlined.

Wonderful product
We currently use VMWare on IBM cloud for our VDI deployments. The Virtual Desktop Infrastructure centralizes our support to a single pane of glass. Basically, rather than using many control systems, we can use a single interface to deploy all of our features.
