Well suited for HR and purchasing systems. We were able to fully automate our onboarding process, from account creation to assigning groups and permissions. We also used it to process our incoming invoices and reconcile with our accounting system. I would say the main limitation we experienced was the lack of Linux support.
IBM Robotic Process Automation is a great option for automating repetitive processes and for using systems that do not have integrations. The possibility of using activities to access APIs, FTPs and other types of connections that do not require a graphical interface greatly speeds up some processes, with image recognition also being very important in the latter cases, where the selector is a little more complicated to obtain.

Overall, the IBM Robotic Process Automation framework adapts well to scenarios where processes can be implemented that can be divided into distinct steps, but it is not limited to these scenarios. Although it is not frequent, there may be scenarios where the visual component is not easily identified by the tool.

RPA (IBM Robotic Process Automation) as we affectionately call it is use for automating our banking transaction processes. There are so many processes that are manually done by Tellers at the banking halls to complete transactions for client. We have over 20 processes automated using IBM Robotic Process Automation. Staff have been reassigned to different task as IBM Robotic Process Automation has taken over these manual processes, increasing efficiency in delivery of service to clients in the banking halls.
Pros
Integration with Systems is very easy
Process automation is simple. Once you have your script right
Cons
Add capability to integrate with deployment tools
Likelihood to Recommend
It is very efficient. Processes run as long as the servers are up.
We automate processes by eliminating repetitive tasks, giving customers more time to accomplish more challenging tasks
Pros
Automate Excel Spreadsheets
Automate Website Navigation
Automate any desktop application by image
Cons
View log while running the robot
Better chart and KPI generation
Be able to stop the execution of a robot

IBM RPA is a low-cost solution that leaves nothing to be desired compared to the market leader. With basic programming knowledge you can automate any process that your organization needs
We are currently using it to automate most of the user activities performed by the Tellers. There are so many manual input required by our backend staff at the banking halls to complete a simple transaction. As an organization, IBM Robotic Process Automation was introduced and currently running as a project, enrolling most of the common activities performed by the backend staff. That has saved time and helped increase the turnaround time in fulfilling customer request.
Pros
IBM Robotic Process Automation is able to complete programed activities well. With it, the team was able to automate account settlement process.
It does not allow for duplications. Since we implemented Airtime settlement on IBM Robotic Process Automation, duplicate airtime deductions on client account has been eliminated
Cons
Not that I can think of now
Likelihood to Recommend
It is best to be used when you understand your process, and always try it out in a UAT environment to avoid breaking anything in the production environment. When it was first implemented for auto-reversal of customer failed transactions, it had to be rolled back because some steps were missed and that ended up reversing double fees.

It's helped automate some of manual repetitive tasks. For instance, it's helped us automate the Purchase Order creation process. Now end users can simply fill out a template and submit it to the BOT for processing rather than requiring individuals to process via email. It's also helped facilitate the storing of documents (i.e storing incoming CVs in a specific folder).
Pros
integrations
flexibility
scalability
support
Cons
some features still in development
sometimes limiting in customization/ modification capabilities
risks if BOT is not properly configured
Likelihood to Recommend
While it can be applied to various scenarios, its suitability can depend on the specific requirements of a given task or process. Here are some scenarios where IBM RPA is well-suited and scenarios where it may be less appropriate: Well suited: 1.Data Entry and Data Migration: RPA can efficiently automate data entry tasks, such as copying information from one system to another or migrating data between databases, reducing the risk of human error 2. Report Generation: RPA can generate routine reports by extracting data from various sources, formatting it, and delivering the reports to the relevant stakeholders, saving time and effort. 3. Email and Message Handling: RPA can help manage and categorize emails and messages, such as routing customer inquiries to the right department or processing routine email requests.Less suited for: 1. Cases where there is High Variability: RPA may struggle with tasks that have a high degree of variability, where each case is unique and difficult to standardize. 2. For Complex Decision-Making: RPA is rule-based and not designed for complex decision-making processes. It cannot replace the judgment and decision-making capabilities of humans.
3.Tasks Requiring Creativity: RPA is not suitable for tasks that require creativity, innovation, or problem-solving skills, as it operates based on predefined rules and logic.

As currently working in an Automation Department , there are various opportunities where we get the chance to know more about and RPA tool . As we know the trend of unattended automation is increasing day by day, the competition of RPA automation have also increased with various brand with different features and facalities along with the cost pricing. The automation bot basically used for unattended human intervention within a process
Pros
helps in creating automated process at business scale
good feature where bots can act on AI insights
good feature available like OCR activities and AI intelligent chatbot
Low code with multiple bot execution in concurrency
Cons
looking at the RPA market competitor UIPath , the IBM licensing is twice in Cost as compared to UiPath but offers better value.
process stability along with the flexibility in 3rd party integration apps.
unclear guidelines in the documentations and slow initialization or implementation
Likelihood to Recommend
On comparing the market scenario, the Basic perspective is based upon the Usage and Cost of the tool. The IBM RPA provides the flexible and cost effectiveness licensing along with the customer requirements but gets the impression of High Licensing cost on comparison with the other RPA tools like Uipath , Automation Anywhere , Blue Prism etc. 3rd party app integration is one more hectic side , but the plus point is the AI insights to complete process
We use IBM RPA mainly to automate and stadardize our workflows on the supply chain, inventory, logistics, and warehousing sides. Before we started using it, we didn't have a system to manage these areas in a standardized way, wherea now, all of our intake, data entry, dispatch, etc., processes are more streamlined and error-free.
Pros
Creating and maintaining reports based on continuous data entry
Setting standardization tasks for our production data entry tasks
Maintaining standard worklfows for new inventory intake and output
Cons
It's very expensive, especially for growing operations like ours.
It's a bit difficult to set up and start using confidently.
Likelihood to Recommend
I think IBM RPA is very suitable if your supply chain workflows have lots of repetitive or time consuming tasks, or tasks that have a lot of room for human error. Reducing these was the main motivation for our purchasing decision. For where it doesn't fit in well, I'm not sure if it fits in well with data from production machines, especially machines like ours that have a wider range of variation.
We used IBM products for IBM Robotic Process Automation to help automate some of our financial accounting process related workflows. For financial operational processes that were relatively repetitive and had high volume of entries, we utilized robotic process automation to automate these processes. These included part of our weekly reconciliations, accounts payable automation, and reporting processes.
Pros
Accounts payable
Account reconciliation
Reporting dashboards
Cons
Smaller scale/volume processes
Exceptions based handling
Likelihood to Recommend
Some scenarios based on our experience where IBM Robotic Process Automation can be well suited includes processes that are high volume, very repetitive, and generally clerical or straightforward in nature. For our organization we were looking to automate more of financial back office operational type processes. This product worked out well for these scenario cases.
