Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Keeper is used as our centralised credential manager within the organisation. It is used to store necessary client logins/credentials in a secure and separate location to our other tenants. It is also used to securely share confidential information using OTP sharing capabilities.

We also implement the solution to our clients as an additional security solution for their organisation.

Pros

  • One-Time Sharing
  • Great MSP/Management Console
  • Ease of Use
  • Logging is great from admin console
  • Internal Structure is great for sharing

Cons

  • Unable to move folders within folders inside of Keeper
  • Sometimes the OTP bug out when sharing

Return on Investment

  • Increased in password security
  • Significant reduction on Passwords being shared via email/insecure sources
  • Better reporting of weak credentials

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Creating, managing, and storing strong passwords has become essential to conducting business online. I began searching for appropriate tools after an incident of identity theft. Keeper Security was one of three products that was highly recommended based on my searches. I found it to be easy to use, provides plugins for the major browsers and is easy to install on new computers.

Keeper - An Immensely Valuable Password Management Solution

Pros

  • Ease of use. User find it simple and intuitive to use and I find they rapidly adjust to the software with minimal training.
  • Single-sign-on. Super important and really makes things simple for the users and easy to manage for us in the IT team.
  • Sharing features. We knew sharing was a key component of our password management solution. Keeper makes it easy for users and simple to administer.

Cons

  • Decommissioning users isn't as simple as I'd like. If a user disappears from AD with SSO enabled, it can be a challenge (or impossible) to recover their passwords.
  • It would be good if there was a long period in which the browser plug-in would keep you logged in. It's a pain having to re-sign in each time you open a browser (even with SSO enabled).
  • Adding another tier to each group such that each group could have a manager would be helpful in the continuity of departmental password management. Inevitably, users end up with a bunch of their own passwords that their manager should have access to, but there is no easy way to administer this situation.

Most Important Features

  • Single sign-on (SSO). I rarely subscribe to a software that does not incorporate this feature. Moreover, it is important to me that it utilizes Azure AD SSO.
  • Support for all major browsers. We do not enforce a particular browser on our staff as their needs are diverse. Keeper supports all major browsers.
  • Excellent support. I have had nothing but good experiences with Keeper's support team.

Return on Investment

  • The spreadsheets and printed papers being passed around the office with passwords on them have gone! This is a huge security hole plugged.
  • Users actively use the software which says something - it is easy to use and intuitive. When software is not intuitive, it tends to not get used.
  • It gives IT control over who does what with passwords, and while difficult to quantify it is certainly a dramatically positive impact on the organization.

  • Organizes files into folders.
  • Use Subfolders within main folders.
  • Limits a user's attempts to access information, and then destructs the file on a particular device.

Cons

  • More pre-formatted fields to add to files (account #, Secret Questions, etc).
  • I would like the ability to personalize by changing color themes to any color(s).

  • Increased efficiency.
  • Provides secure financial account storage.
  • Reduced the times I've had to use "forgot login ID" or "Forgot Password."

Pros

  • Easy to use - you can easily access it anywhere and anytime you want (it has mobile apps, web and desktop versions)
  • High level of security - 2-step authentication with your phone number
  • Simple to save and get passwords and login information. Keeper fills it in for you. It may create complex passwords for you
  • Syncs across all devices

Cons

  • The automatic web form filling is sometimes annoying popping up not in right places sometimes

Return on Investment

  • It helps easily login to all of the services that are needed during work which saves time a lot
  • You don't need to remember tons of login information or write everything down with a big risk
