Easy to setup and saves a lot of time.

Rating: 9 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Easy printer identification lets users add, remove, or upgrade printers without IT support. It also switches printer IP schemes for user convenience. It is easy for the end user to set up the printer they want to look for. Customer service is helpful.

Pros

  • Easy and quick to set up.
  • Helpful customer service.
  • Helps in bulk printing.

Cons

  • Maps for printers were hardest.
  • Overuse of drivers leads to duplicates.
  • Requires cleaning and optimizing collection.

Likelihood to Recommend

Vasion Print manages printers across remote offices, and its overall performance is good. It does not require much manual work and has good customer service.

Very useful product for centralizing and coordinating printer drivers

Rating: 9 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use PrinterLogic/Vasion Print to manage, distribute and install printer drivers for a variety of departments and locations. Many of our departments are dispersed around campus in different buildings, and we need to have faculty and staff set up to print to wherever their preferred or closest location is . PrinterLogic/Vasion Print takes a lot of end user consulting time out of the picture by automating the printer setup process. This frees up departmental as well as core consultants and engineers for more technical or enterprise oriented project work.

Pros

  • Repository of printer drivers for departmental and unit printers
  • Easily update configurations and drivers
  • Can be installed to end user systems by our MDM system
  • Centralizes location of drivers and configurations
  • Removes necessity for tech support to install drivers manually

Cons

  • We would like to move all of our print accounting into Vasion Print, but there are some features we use in Pharos that Vasion is still building out.
  • The repository can get a little unwieldy if too many people are adding drivers. An internal check to see if a driver for a particular printer is already available would be a nice feature.
  • Direct authenticated release of print jobs from the printer device would be a nice feature.

Likelihood to Recommend

This is a very easy product to use and was quite straightforward to install and configure. We currently use the printer driver repository function the most heavily as end users in our academic departments access it pretty much every day. It was very easy to load on our endpoints and simplifies the process of getting the proper enterprise printers set up on departmental computers. Their customer support has been very helpful on the few occasions that we have needed to contact them. We currently are in conversation with Vasion about expanding the use of PrinterLogic/Vasion Print and have discussed various ways that it could be integrated with other printing support functions. They have been very interested in our use cases and ideas for building out the features in the product. We are very happy with the product and with the Vasion support and sales teams. The only thing I dislike about PrinterLogic/Vasion Print is that the repository can get a bit large and disorganized at times.

Vasion Print is Very Useful

Rating: 10 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We have multiple locations across our company and PrinterLogic makes it easy for end users to quickly add a printer to their device without admin intervention. The plugin in is also easy to update and does not interrupt the end user while they are using their computer during working hours.

Pros

  • Deployment
  • Driver Management
  • Printer Activity

Cons

  • Some drivers would upload incorrectly
  • A way to set up a secure print profile with less steps for end users
  • Sometimes the Edge plugin needs to be reinstalled

Likelihood to Recommend

I have run into a few drivers that were unable to be uploaded to the interface or they correctly deployed but the configuration would not allow printing.

Very Easy for End Users!

Rating: 10 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Previously, we were using a printer server. In this case, users were required to have administrator privileges/intervention in order to connect to a printer. Now, using Vasion Print, we are able to streamline printer connections by allowing users to choose which printer to connect to, among different locations, with no elevated privileges required.

Pros

  • Ease of use
  • End user friendly
  • Simple

Cons

  • Support could be faster

Likelihood to Recommend

We have some users that work from home and connecting to printers is not as important for them. On the other hand, we have many users who travel to different sales parks across the state and need to connect to printers quickly and without admin intervention. Vasion Print allows these users to do it themselves without waiting on IT.

Vasion allows better printer management

Rating: 7 out of 10
Incentivized

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Vasion Print is used to deploy our printers, drivers and printer queues to the endpoints in our organization (35,000+). We also recently started using it for BYOD printing and also started using Vasion for Mac printing. Our use case is clinic and business users in healthcare across the state of PA.

Pros

  • Customer Account Management
  • Driver Management

Cons

  • Printer Profiles
  • Bulk Importing

Likelihood to Recommend

Vasion is well suited when it comes to deployment and driver management. It is lacking when it comes to its 2nd and 3rd level support as it's difficult to get someone to help solve a problem. We usually have to get our account manager involved to get a proper answer.

Flashy Upfront, Sturdy behind the scenes

Flashy Upfront, Sturdy behind the scenes

Vasion Print has been a mostly reliable service for us at our enterprise environment. We primarily use it to deploy and manage all printing aspects for our employees for both remote and on-premises managed devices. This has also opened the door for ease of use with non-employees having access to limited printing resources on an as-needed basis.

Pros

  • Ease of Deployment
  • Ease of Printer Management
  • Ease of Usage on the End User

Cons

  • Driver Management
  • Cost Management
  • Off-Network functionality for non-employee use cases

Likelihood to Recommend

Majority of the time printing has been smooth sailing. Receiving a new printer, adding it to the Vasion Print with the new driver and port number and printing is almost instantaneous in functionality.

Off-network printing is reliable part of the time. While this has been a feature we rely on, it is great when it works but an absolute pain in the neck when it doesn't. While services have improved and support has been present in the recent past we have seen an improvement in overall usage.

User-friendly!

Rating: 10 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We work with a lot of printers that need to be installed on various devices. PrinterLogic enables us to allow users to use the printers that they need. It is very user-friendly so even if I am not available to install the printer onto their device, most customers can do it on their own.

Pros

  • user-friendly
  • easy to navigate
  • uncomplicated

Cons

  • app gets corrupted and needs to be reinstalled
  • extension needs to be reinstalled on the browser
  • device needs to be restarted before the installed printer is listed in the settings

Likelihood to Recommend

I feel a sense of ease explaining it to my customers knowing that it is easy to navigate and that they won't have too much trouble with it. When it comes to updating features within the printer settings. Other applications that have more in-depth settings are more appropriate.

PrinterLogic for the win!

Rating: 10 out of 10
Incentivized

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use PrinterLogic to deprecate print servers and have every printer in the company available for users to install and print to. This made it much easier for users to install themselves and locate which printer they need when visiting a new office or jobsite. They also love seeing the layout and where the printer is to avoid confusion of selecting the wrong printer.

Pros

  • Ease of use
  • Administration
  • Security

Cons

  • iOS capability

Likelihood to Recommend

This solution is perfect for school campuses who have printers in each building. Students can login with their student ID and select the printer they need to connect to. This is also a great solution for businesses with multiple offices where employees rotate and visit different locations and need to use the printer in those buildings.
