Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We built a lot of employee facing applications to help them do their jobs, which is a lot of client relationship management, some financial advice, and we use it as a single pane of glass for most of those interactions.

Pros

Flexible fast development
Interaction with data
Making sure that you've got a complete 360 view of your client

Cons

Scalability, you have to go outside the product to deal with higher scale, so as soon as you move out of the small/medium business, you are reinventing and refactoring applications to use higher throughput, higher data storage, and a higher IO requirement solutions.

Likelihood to Recommend

Small, medium business companies with employees that are in the thousands. Once you get into the 10 thousands users, you have to do some other stuff. Like I answered in the previous question, you have to expand your footprint out into other clouds to be able to fully serve them. Also, engagement with customers, it does really well too, so it's easy to portal things from trusted to less trusted and segment information between different security layers.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use it to generate smaller pieces of content personalized to the customer and their business, as well as small landing style pages or emails personalized by the data they have filled in on forms that we have stored in the customer relationship manager system. This adds that little extra touch to the overall experience for the customer journey.

Pros

The workflow system connection from the CRM.
Building configurator is easy to use.
It only takes a small amount of time to train someone to use it.

Cons

I find that the more complex you make things it starts to hit load times quite hard.
Additional tracking and analytics for the pages/emails would be nice.
Version control with autosaves and regular saves so you can tell the difference with 15-minute intervals.

Likelihood to Recommend

If you have a large customer base and a large amount of data on each of your customers, it is really strong in creating personalized content that your salespeople can use in their pitch meetings—and then setting up workflows for automated for lifecycle journey creations to automatically go out to customers.

It can be integrated with Salesforce Platform and all other Salesforce products. It provides unified view of customer's data The collaboration feature really helps to speed up the process of content creation as it provides real time collaboration among creators and editors.

Salesforce CMS is well suited for those companies which are already using Salesforce. If you want to provide personalized content according to individual customer. If you want to share the content across multiple channels. Salesforce CMS is not typically suited for companies not using salesforce. Simple blogging does not require a Salesforce CMS.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Salesforce CMS to to distribute email templates and track email activity across many of our different teams. It makes it easy to manage all within our CRM instead of needing to go to a different system. Our Support Team, Sales Team, Product Team, Implementation Team, Marketing Team can easily see what's going on and all of the email activity for each of our customers.

It's a bit cluttered at times
Feels outdated compared to Hubspot

If you want everything in one place (your Sales Cloud, CSM, Services Cloud, etc.) this is a smart choice for you. It's also great for big businesses. If you're wanting more simple, I'd recommend using Hubspot or another more modern tool.

Salesforce CMS is a great tool for doing the documentation and reports for further analysis. It also assists in streamlining the assets with coverage renewals and adhering compliance. Moreover, it has very smooth integration with Salesforce CMS and other third-party tools which makes it more valuable. It also has great content management capabilities which can also be delivered across departments with ease.

Pros

It has a very smooth integration with Salesforce and third-party tools, ensuring easy tracking of policies and assets.
It also has impressive security features like used-based permissions and encrypted data.
Everything can be managed from a centralized place which saves a lot of time.

Cons

Customization features are very few which are increased in the latest update so the layouts can be tailored as per the requirement.
The user interface is a little complex and cluttered which could make it a steep learning curve for beginners.
The performance can be slow when working with large content data.

Salesforce CMS is a well-used product when it comes the organization who are already working in Salesforce CMS ecosystem which ensure smooth experience. We partnered with SF to build out a custom platform for our a/r department that mirrors our more manual UNIX software but gives us a graphic interface that allows for custom and more visual representation of the customer data as it relates to collections. Salesforce allows us to instantly see where the account is holding in terms of their aging receivables and allows us to view/enter notes to follow the progress of collections.

Pros

Custom interface.
Graphic representation of data.
Seamless interaction with our data warehouse to present and update data in real time.

Cons

Wish it was easier to search and follow progression of cases.
Even with all of the customization, it still feels pretty rigid in terms of improving functionality.
More AI integration and machine learning to eliminate repetitive tasks.

Likelihood to Recommend

It has worked well for our use case. Since I was not too involved in the implementation, it's hard for me to say whether it will be an easy fit for others, but judging by the market cap and growth, it seems that they make it really easy to onboard and provide value most of the time.

Salesforce serves as a great way to organize your data and your data relationships. We use it primarily to organize our contacts and track leads to generate more users for our product.

Cons

Some glitches in terms of custom functionality.
Can be more customized for each individual user.
Report searching isn’t as easy as in Classic.

Likelihood to Recommend

When viewing multiple contacts and accounts at the same time, Lightning provides a more easily interpretable interface. When trying to generate a report, or find older reports and for merging duplicates, the system in Classic was easier to navigate.

Salesforce Lightning Platform is our main tool as a sales coordinator. We use it for many things such as communicating with our clients through email, sending leads to prospects, and monitoring our sales and revenue. Using this tool helps us to compare sales and revenue from previous months to see our areas of improvement.

Pros

Sales and revenue computation.
Sending leads to prospects that helps us win the business.
Helps us communicates with clients.

Cons

It takes a while before it recognizes bounced emails.
We get so many notifications from a single action. Not sure if this can be modified in the settings though.
Error messages are sometimes unclear which makes it hard for us to identify the problem.

We use Salesforce Lightning Platform in everyday business as sales coordinators. By using this tool, we are able to send new requests to clients and communicate regarding pending proposals in real-time. This also tool holds many of our client accounts where we are able to monitor their sales and revenue.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We converted over to the Salesforce Lightning Platform from the standard cloud over the past few years- and appreciated many of the changes it brings with it. It's not across the entire organization just yet, but it does help in streamlining the Salesforce experience and make integration a little bit easier.

Pros

Ease of use.
Clean interface.
Good integration and sandbox.

Cons

Interface can be TOO simple at times.
Some previously available options are hard to find.
Specific workflows can be challenging to create.

Likelihood to Recommend

Salesforce Lightning is definitely well suited when it comes to regular day-to-day tasks such as ticketing and sales workflows. It was a bit of a tough transition as the 'cleaner' interface can make it harder to find options/dropdowns that were more front and center in the App Cloud version.
