Use Cases and Deployment Scope

As an account manager, I have lots of opportunities and projects that I sell. So I need to track the sales process and I use the CRM to do that. And I have lots of different customers, so I need to store their information and look up their information. That's mainly how I use it. And then I need to generate reports on how well the account's doing, what my pipeline is, what stage the opportunities are in the pipeline.

Pros

  • It's very good for collaborative working across geographies because we all have the same information so we don't duplicate. So we can have a global sales process or based on the platform.

Cons

  • I struggle with the mobile version of it. It may be our integration of it, but, it doesn't work particularly well for me. I don't get all the features I need to get.

Likelihood to Recommend

It's really well suited for tracking your sales opportunities and putting them through a sales funnel. It's less well suited for reporting on things like revenue and tracking how the post-sale projects that you're running.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We currently use Salesforce CRM for all our platforms. That is from lead generation to RFP plus RFI processes and with order booking process and all the progression that the Salesforce CRM offers. I use it on a daily basis to find more leads, contacting more leads, generating new RFPs, and tagging new RFPs into the system, getting more sales from our biotech or pharmaceutical companies.

Pros

  • I really love that how efficiently I could track each and everything in Salesforce from lead generation, and then I can tag a contact or tag a lead, or I can get an RFP and tag that RFP, which was generated from so and so forth. So it gives me a credit of what I am doing and how I am contributing to changing the patient's lives.

Cons

  • Sometimes when we have the integrations while RFP processes or RFI processes, we can see that they're not seamlessly integrated with each other like RFI and RFP. So in that case I would find it a bit difficult with our internal systems as well as Salesforce. So we are still trying to work on that.

Likelihood to Recommend

We use it for marketing, we use it for sales, so that's the best fit for us. But as I mentioned for the internal processes, it's quite difficult to tag all the RFPs since in ACDMO world, it's more like ours is custom built solutions for pharmaceutical industries, so it can get a bit complex. And then what other products

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We built a lot of employee facing applications to help them do their jobs, which is a lot of client relationship management, some financial advice, and we use it as a single pane of glass for most of those interactions.

Pros

  • Flexible fast development
  • Interaction with data
  • Making sure that you've got a complete 360 view of your client

Cons

  • Scalability, you have to go outside the product to deal with higher scale, so as soon as you move out of the small/medium business, you are reinventing and refactoring applications to use higher throughput, higher data storage, and a higher IO requirement solutions.

Likelihood to Recommend

Small, medium business companies with employees that are in the thousands. Once you get into the 10 thousands users, you have to do some other stuff. Like I answered in the previous question, you have to expand your footprint out into other clouds to be able to fully serve them. Also, engagement with customers, it does really well too, so it's easy to portal things from trusted to less trusted and segment information between different security layers.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Salesforce Lightning Platform is out main CRM. We use this for most all sales related purposes to track customers, sales, opportunities, and reports on other integrated systems. We have well over 50,000 contacts and millions in sales that run through Salesforce. We also keep track of work done with customers and their health as customers through Salesforce and other integrated systems.

Pros

  • Sales Reporting
  • Information for sales and opportunities
  • Functionality integration

Cons

  • AI autofill
  • Customizable verbiage for company specifics
  • Cross-object-type reporting

Likelihood to Recommend

Mostly this is a company size and sales load based question. Best for larger companies with many admins. Smaller companies don't need all functionalities and complexities.

Salesforce Lightning Platform - what is needed by all sales forces

Rating: 6 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

My organization utilizes Salesforce Lightning Platform as a CRM. My position is in sales so we use the tool to record leads, prospect accounts, customer accounts, and opportunities. Within the opportunities, we record the different sale stages and are able to record notes based on the opportunity.

Salesforce Lightning Platform allows us to record important information per organization, contact and opportunity which helps with our teams forecasting.

Pros

  • Storing information on the lead/contact level
  • Providing a place for important notes/key topics
  • Ability to map contacts/leads to specific organizations/accounts

Cons

  • Slow to load
  • Overwhelming on what can be added as field
  • Occasional authentication issues

Likelihood to Recommend

Salesforce Lightning Platform is very useful for organizations with a sales team and for organizations with multiple customers. By having a central database that allows for the structure it helps keeps teams organized and allows for users to keep an eye on key points. You can also leave tasks for yourself and others to make sure action items are not missed.

If the organization is smaller, you could probably get away with using a tool that is not as sophisticated.

It's the Gold Standard for a reason

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

It is our CRM platform. Salesforce Lightning Platform acts as our contact list, our lead list, our donor list, etc. We can see a detailed history of a contact, and tag them in creative ways. We can also run reports that dictate our marketing efforts. We have recently integrated with Salesforce Lightning Platform for our donor platform as well.

Pros

  • Tagging
  • Reports
  • syncing with other platforms we use

Cons

  • The visual layout feels outdated
  • It is not an intuitive layout
  • More customization is always appreciated.

Likelihood to Recommend

We are a non-profit and use Salesforce Lightning Platform as the main source of truth for our donors, as well as people who have attended our events, purchased our resources, etc. It works well for interdepartmental needs. Reports can be a little tricky to run and require a more intermediate user. Once you've figured out how to run reports, they are a very powerful tool.

Salesforce does it for your enterprise! Highly recommend.

Rating: 9 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Salesforce to keep track of our day-to-day customer engagements. Right from actioning leads that land on the SFDC platform to managing opportunities, Salesforce is crucial to our sales operation. I love the level of customization I can put into my lead/contact/opportunity views and my sales reports too. My manager knows what I'm working on based solely on the updates I make on our CRM Salesforce. I've used it before in an organisation too, along with other leading CRMs in the industry. However, after trying everything else, I can safely say that Salesforce CRM is the best that is out there. Highly recommended.

Pros

  • Managing lead lifecycle
  • Managing opportunity lifecycle
  • Sales Reports and the level of customizations available
  • Social features and dashboard

Cons

  • The interface - While it's very practical, I'd like a better UI, something on the lines of what Zoho does maybe
  • the color scheme
  • Loading of views can be laggy
  • processing speed

Likelihood to Recommend

I have used Salesforce in an ed tech company and am now using it in an IT (Software as a Service) firm. I found Salesforce to be the right fit in both my roles - business development and sales. I believe Salesforce is ideal for enterprises with 1000+ employees and has a wide feature set that can cater to enterprise sales needs in almost any industry.

I would not however recommend Salesforce to a smaller organization as something low-cost, yet practical could be a fine fit. One can get better UI, better processing speed and an overall better experience with another CRM. The bandwidth however remains in question when it's anything else than Salesforce.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I currently work as the delivery manager for Salesforce Lightning Platform. It is currently used throughout the business for marketing, sales and customer care. there are other areas of the business who use Salesforce Lightning Platform. It allows for automation of critical business processes.

Pros

  • Email Automation
  • Reporting
  • Dashboards

Cons

  • Subscribing to more reports

Likelihood to Recommend

Salesforce Lightning Platform is a great CRM tool which allows a single source of truth. It allows for collaboration across teams. Using the native reporting can be somewhat complicated at times so using an add on or more of an advanced reporting tool can be helpful. Salesforce Lightning Platform allows a great audit on all that takes place and allows reporting on this also.

Lightning Improvement from Classic

Rating: 8 out of 10
Incentivized

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Salesforce serves as a great way to organize your data and your data relationships. We use it primarily to organize our contacts and track leads to generate more users for our product.

Pros

  • Automation procedures
  • Auto full capabilities
  • User interface

Cons

  • Some glitches in terms of custom functionality.
  • Can be more customized for each individual user.
  • Report searching isn’t as easy as in Classic.

Likelihood to Recommend

When viewing multiple contacts and accounts at the same time, Lightning provides a more easily interpretable interface. When trying to generate a report, or find older reports and for merging duplicates, the system in Classic was easier to navigate.
