Overall Satisfaction with Salesforce Lightning Platform

My organization utilizes Salesforce Lightning Platform as a CRM. My position is in sales so we use the tool to record leads, prospect accounts, customer accounts, and opportunities. Within the opportunities, we record the different sale stages and are able to record notes based on the opportunity.

Salesforce Lightning Platform allows us to record important information per organization, contact and opportunity which helps with our teams forecasting.

Pros

  • Storing information on the lead/contact level
  • Providing a place for important notes/key topics
  • Ability to map contacts/leads to specific organizations/accounts

Cons

  • Slow to load
  • Overwhelming on what can be added as field
  • Occasional authentication issues
  • Allows users to get a holistic view of an account/opportunity which can help with forecasting - invaluable for investors
  • Time saved by reps being able to access data easily - save 30 mins per day
  • Slow to load - lose 5 mins a day
Salesforce Lightning Platform can have a pretty easy to use platform, depending on how the CRM has been set up. It is up to the organization on which fields are available and the overall guidelines on how data should be entered. However, if the Salesforce Lightning Platform environment has been setup for optional use, new users should be able to pick it up quickly.
Salesforce Lightning Platform provides a more sales-focused CRM. It allows the sales force of an organization to be able to stay organized and can pull necessary reports to get a better understanding on how the business is performing regarding sales and customer activity. Looking at a tool like Hubspot which is more marketing focus, you do not receive the details that are sale-specific.

Salesforce Lightning Platform is very useful for organizations with a sales team and for organizations with multiple customers. By having a central database that allows for the structure it helps keeps teams organized and allows for users to keep an eye on key points. You can also leave tasks for yourself and others to make sure action items are not missed.

If the organization is smaller, you could probably get away with using a tool that is not as sophisticated.
