Increased Sales and Revenue

We were able to get so many orders even without paid marketing because our website was SEO responsive.

Improved Business Operations

We are able to keep track of all our inventory easily because of our Shopify store.

Cost Savings

The ability to customize most of what we need in Shopify ourselves has saved us a lot of third party vendor fees.

Describe how you use Shopify in your organization. What are the business problems the product addresses and what is the scope of your use case?

From 10 reviews | Last Published May 27, 2026

Organizations primarily leverage Shopify as their foundational e-commerce platform for online sales, a use case explicitly cited by all 10 reviewers. The platform enables businesses to establish and manage their online storefronts, facilitating the sale of products directly to customers and serving as the backbone for B2C operations. Beyond its core function as a sales channel, 4 of 10 reviewers noted Shopify's ease of use and intuitive interface, which simplifies website management and order processing for staff with varying technical proficiencies. Additionally, 3 of 10 reviewers highlighted the platform's robust business functionality, including order, refund, payment, and inventory management, along with performance tracking. E-commerce platform for sales

Shopify helped us to create a website for our brand. As an ecommerce brand, it was essential for us to have a website through which we could sell our products online to our target customers.

Ease of use and user interface

Shopify allows us to easily sell to our retail customers without the hassle getting too complex with backend code, especially security related. It's admin user interface is simplistic and easy to use for our CSR's on everyday orders.

Integration and connectivity

They also allow developers to shine with their own app store with integrations made to solve any issues a business might have with presentation or organization of their store.

Please provide some detailed examples of areas where Shopify has room for improvement.

From 10 reviews | Last Published May 27, 2026

Reviewers identified several areas where Shopify could improve its platform, primarily concerning the necessity and expense of third-party applications, limitations in core features, user interface challenges, and overall cost. A significant concern for four of ten reviewers is the platform's reliance on external apps to provide functionalities that some users consider essential, leading to increased costs and a fragmented experience. Similarly, four of ten reviewers pointed out specific limitations within Shopify's built-in features, such as the absence of native invoicing or comprehensive inventory management for raw materials. Three reviewers also noted issues with the user interface, including occasional freezing or difficulty managing orders. Furthermore, three reviewers expressed general concerns about the platform's cost, particularly the pricing structure for advanced features and the cumulative expense of necessary add-on applications. These themes collectively suggest a desire for more robust native capabilities and a more transparent or inclusive pricing model for essential business operations.

App reliance and cost

They nickel and dime you for everything. They also purposely do not add very "typical" features to their core because they want you to purchase plugins (which they get a cut of each month).

Core feature limitations

Shopify does not create invoices for customers which is frequently problematic

UI/UX issues

Their UI sometimes will randomly freeze or not allow you to update something. The only thing we've figured out in those cases is just to wait 30 minutes.

Please provide some detailed examples of things that Shopify does particularly well.

Shopify proves why its still used by the small and the big sellers online.

Rating: 7 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use it every day for 90% of our e-commerce business! Seriously, it's also our go-to when using tools like TikTok Shop, so it blends into our ERP without requiring or using multiple pieces of unique software. As a result, we've got a nice website, a dedicated wholesale site, and TikTok, Facebook, and Instagram all flowing through it. Beats the pants off paying enterprise rates to update an ERP!

Pros

  • Manage inventory.
  • Run a POS for small pop-up operations.
  • Dynamically managing a site.
  • Ease of use in presenting products.
  • Supporting a lot of apps and customizations.

Cons

  • The number of apps means they sometimes don't add features because "there's an app for that".
  • No easy "ban" button for abuse.
  • Inventory can be a little tricky at times due to lack of proper reporting/logs.

Likelihood to Recommend

If you are either a super small seller that needs something basic, or a company doing quite well in sales. I say this because if you are super small, you can get away with the free options and cheap/main perks. But if you are more nuanced or require customization, promotion, etc., you might hit a bottleneck: not making enough to justify the expenses, but not expanding enough to get over that hump.

  • User Friendly
  • Analytics and Reporting
  • Integrated Payments and Checkout

Cons

  • More flexibility in gift card limits

Is Shopify right for you? It may just be.

Rating: 8 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Shopify as our ecommerce store. The reason we switched was Shopify's ability to handle the syncing of our customers and companies properly. It also was able to sync the attribute fields in Acumatica without any third-party tools or customizations. Shopify allowed us to more easily handle b2b customers alongside individual customers.

Pros

  • Customer and Company syncing
  • The ability to sync almost any field from Acumatica
  • Price catalogs for different customers

Cons

  • The cost can be a factor
  • Add-on apps are needed
  • certain fields wont sync when making them blank in Acumatica

Likelihood to Recommend

Shopify allowed us to handle matrix items and combined listings. Both of which we could not do on our previous platform. There was some customization involved but overall, it did what we needed it to. The one downside was that if we want to change anything we would have to reload the entire set of matrix items manually.

Shopify for everyone

Rating: 9 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Shopify is used as our primary web hosting service for our website. We do not use it as a commercial platform with direct sales, but rather as a user friendly web for editting also for users that are not strong with IT or PCs. This has helped us maintain the web on Shopify for over 10 years now.

Pros

  • It allows non technical users to easily edit the informtion on the web
  • It easily allows to add blog posts and news.
  • Its easily editable and formatable.
  • The number of templates and personal edits allows great personalization.

Cons

  • Automatic calculating of shipping costs internationally.
  • Better overview of graphs of attendance
  • a bit simplified UI

Likelihood to Recommend

For us, Shopify is a great option even though, we do not use it to sell directly on the web, but as the main hosting platform for our web due to the easiness of editability and control of the website itself. I believe its great for all users, mainly the ones less technically skilled as its really user friendly for the users themselbes. I really dont have a negative feedback from myself as we have been using it for 10 years and I am happy with it.

The best in Ecommerce

Rating: 9 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We are a Shopify partner app, so Shopify is used by us in the testing environment and on the partner side. We are dependent on Shopify for our business to function and love all the functionalities. Our tool gets added to a Shopify theme and helps merchants generate more revenue.

Pros

  • Reporting
  • Ux
  • Apps

Cons

  • Cost
  • Fulfillment
  • Tariffs

Likelihood to Recommend

Shopify is well suited for any store that sells products. Ideally you are doing at least 10 orders per month, if not more. But if you are a mom and pop, or an enterprise company both can succeed on Shopify thanks to its different plans. If you sell services, law, photography etc it is not as ideal.,

Shopify Delivers But With Some Drawbacks

Rating: 8 out of 10
Incentivized

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Shopify as one of our main e-commerce platforms for our supplements. We chose to use this platform because of it's variety of (semi) easy to use features, connectivity, and trusted partners (such as ReCharge and NoFraud). Shopify allows us to easily sell to our retail customers without the hassle getting too complex with backend code, especially security related. It's admin user interface is simplistic and easy to use for our CSR's on everyday orders.

Pros

  • It's base security and integration with trusted security partners (such as NoFraud) is a game-changer when it comes to reliability and a "hands off approach" for our IT department. The up-time is also very good.
  • It offers a wide range of verified plugins that are (for the most part) easy to install and use for any specific scenario you're looking for.
  • It's Analytics area in the admin is actually nice and offers a wide variety of reports that you can run.

Cons

  • They nickel and dime you for everything. They also purposely do not add very "typical" features to their core because they want you to purchase plugins (which they get a cut of each month).
  • Unless you're willing to pony up and pay for Shopify plus, they lock you out of the checkout page code (so, no installing apps there, either).
  • Their UI sometimes will randomly freeze or not allow you to update something. The only thing we've figured out in those cases is just to wait 30 minutes.
  • You can't get too "cute" with wanting complex functionalities (esp if there's not a plugin that does exactly what you're wanting to do).

Likelihood to Recommend

Shopify is perfect for companies who are looking to run a simple-to-medium base e-commerce system and aren't looking to get too fancy with integrations. Those companies, though, that have more complex integrations (especially with checkout) might be better off using another e-com system out there where you have access to the full core code.

Best website builder for eCommerce brands

Rating: 10 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Shopify helped us to create a website for our brand. As an ecommerce brand, it was essential for us to have a website through which we could sell our products online to our target customers.

Pros

  • Shopify helps brands create high converting ecommerce websites.
  • It is quite affordable.
  • It is SEO friendly meaning there are higher chances to rank on Google with a Shopify website.
  • They have the best support team ever.

Cons

  • I would love it if Shopify built an in house app which helped us post UGCs and social proof from platforms such as Instagram, Youtube etc. more seamlessly on our website. Right now, we are able to do it through third party apps but the look and feel is just okay.

Likelihood to Recommend

Shopify is quite affordable making it perfect for small businesses. They have an incredible support team who solve all your problems very quickly. It offers all the features and app integrations that an ecommerce brand may need in their journey.

Shopify - Great option for e-commerce businesses

Rating: 8 out of 10
Incentivized

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Shopify is used as the main hosting platform for my e-commerce store. It allows a simple user interface that is accessible to all levels of technical prowess.

Pros

  • Simple userinterface
  • Broad range of plugins/applications
  • Customisation

Cons

  • Shopify does not create invoices for customers which is frequently problematic
  • Ability to bulk-edit more product attributes would be helpful
  • Built-in customer service helpdesk would be great

Likelihood to Recommend

I've previously used WooCommerce for the same website and found it much harder to use and far less stable. Shopify is simple to use, reliable, and offers a much easier functionality to customize your website frequently. It still has room for improvement but ultimately I believe It may be the best offering.

Not ideal for digital download variants

Rating: 6 out of 10
Incentivized

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I manage an online store and used Shopify to sell products.

Pros

  • Marketing
  • Online store appearance

Cons

  • Digital downloads
  • Multiple digital download options

Likelihood to Recommend

It completely depends on the product they might be selling. If they are selling services or physical products, then Shopify might be recommended. However, if they are selling digital products, like me, specifically products that have variants, also like me, I would not recommend them because the interface and require plug-ins are suboptimal for these purposes.

Shopify review

Rating: 9 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We sell our products on Shopify. We need to reach more people and get more sales

Pros

  • Easy to use
  • Payments are fast
  • shipping is easy to do

Cons

  • I can't get rid of the unshipped orders
  • How to reach new clients

Likelihood to Recommend

It is very easy to use and you don't have to be technologically savvy to figure it out. In my experience, it is hard to get help when you have a question. I would like that to be improved. I would like to talk to a person or chat on line to get the problems resolved.
