Spring Security

Spring Security is a free and open source customizable authentication and access-control framework, now supported by VMware Tanzu. It is the de-facto standard for securing Spring-based applications, and a framework that focuses on providing both authentication and authorization to Java applications. Spring Security can also be extended to meet custom requirements.
