Community Insights

TrustRadius Insights are summaries of user sentiment data from TrustRadius reviews and, when necessary, 3rd-party data sources. Have feedback on this content? Let us know!

Extensive API documentation: Several users have praised the extensive API documentation provided by the framework, which has allowed for easy integration and the ability to add specific functionality as needed.

Responsive controls for web development: Reviewers have consistently mentioned that the controls for web development are responsive out of the box. This has made it easy to create interactive and user-friendly applications.

Wide range of functionality: Many users appreciate that the framework's controls include a lot of functionality, such as presenting database information in logical formats and providing user interactive informational views. This allows for a consistent user experience across pages and applications.

Difficult learning curve: Some users have found that certain components of the software have a difficult learning curve, which can be attributed to the complexity of the control. This steep learning curve may require users to invest more time and effort into understanding and using these components effectively.

Breaking changes with version updates: Several reviewers have encountered breaking changes when updating to minor versions, such as licensing errors. These unexpected changes can disrupt workflows and cause frustration among users who rely on stable and consistent functionality. It is important for developers to carefully consider the impact of these changes before releasing new versions.

Limited theming options: Users have expressed frustration over the inability to theme components using CSS variables, which requires a fully custom solution. This limitation means that users cannot easily apply consistent visual styles across their applications or adapt to different design requirements. Offering more flexible theming options would enhance customization capabilities and improve user experience.

Users recommend exploring Syncfusion Essential Studio Enterprise Edition in depth to understand its design concept. They suggest taking advantage of the community license and trying the trial version. Users highly recommend Syncfusion for any development needs as it reduces development time and offers a broad set of capabilities. Additionally, users mention that Syncfusion has the best set of tools available in the market and suggest contacting the sales team for great offers. However, users caution about potential performance problems and bugs in the Blazor tools. Overall, users recommend Syncfusion for implementing fast applications with visual and usability capabilities, and they appreciate the comprehensive support provided by Syncfusion for mobile, desktop, or web-based applications.

As we began our quest to build a top-class school management system, we were always on the lookout for tools to streamline our processes while enhancing user experience. Syncfusion Essential Studio Enterprise Edition emerged as an ideal partner in our journey toward creating a top-class platform. From the moment we integrated Syncfusion Essential Studio Enterprise Edition into our development pipeline, the transformation was remarkable. The comprehensive suite of tools provided by Syncfusion Essential Studio Enterprise Edition empowered our team to craft intuitive interfaces, dynamic data visualizations, and seamless workflows effortlessly. One of the standout features of Syncfusion Essential Studio Enterprise Edition is its ease of use. Even developers with varying levels of expertise found themselves navigating the platform with remarkable ease, thanks to its intuitive design and documentation. This allowed us to accelerate our development cycles without compromising on quality. Moreover, Syncfusion's extensive library of pre-built components proved to be a game-changer for us. Whether we needed interactive charts for analyzing academic performance or responsive grids for managing student records, Syncfusion Essential Studio Enterprise Edition had us covered. The ability to customize these components to suit our specific requirements further makes our life that much simpler!
  • Data visualization - loved the choices that are available
  • Particularly liked the timetable module
  • As far as data visualization goes, the asks never end. I would like to see more options and flexibility around this.
It is very useful where moderate to complex workflows are involved especially when intended users are of different skill levels. In our case, the application that is being built would be used by people whose tech skills can vary from 0 to 10.

Nice controls to have

We use Syncfusion asp.net core controls that help us to build interfaces quickly in razor page applications.

We mainly use the grid, that helps us create "list" pages with filters on columns relatively quickly and easily.

The datetime control and the treeview (even if difficult to master) are also helpful
  • Grid with filters
  • datetime picker
  • Documentation for asp.net core controls, for the two way binding
  • Real-life complex examples
  • Radio-button and checkboxes bindings
It's appropriate when you need complex controls, don't use it if you just want to build some tables without any filters.

If you just need some radio's and checkboxes it's easier to use simple html with some bootstrap or alike css frameworks for the style

The company's main product is an executive information system, essentially a data mart that is populated nightly during an ETL process. Syncfusion was used to create a separate website to maintain the vast amount of metadata used to drive the functionality of the main product. The Syncfusion driven website is comprised of about 80 pages, primarily datagrids only. We use ASP.NET Core. Some pages have master detail grids with a grid on top driving the content of the grid below. Others have subgrids within a grid and can be viewed and maintained by expanding a row in the master grid. We used treeview controls, menus, popup windows, and others. Not an extensive use of all of the controls available, but extensive use of datagrids.
  • The datagrid's built-in functionality is extremely robust. Sorting, filtering, various columnar controls, moving columns, resizing, etc.
  • The sheer number of controls available is comforting. Although we did not use most of them, it is good to know that they are they if we need them for this and other applications.
  • The support is world class, even for a single developer company like us. I can't say enough good things about the support. They saved my behind more times than I can say. They are knowledgeable and responsive. The Chat feature is very useful.
  • I'd give the documentation a B+. Most times I can find what I want but sometimes what I'm looking for is buried. Overall very good, but could be a little bit better.
The datagrid is probably their most popular control I would think. It is so flexible and configurable. Most of mine are plain views in ASP.NET Core, but I have a whole bunch that are dynamically created at runtime in my controller. That is so powerful.

I use Syncfusion Essential Studio Enterprise Edition in Visual Studio.
It provides components that give extensive features, such as the sfDataGrid.
It is used in our downloadable products as well as customised software solutions for clients.
I have begun to develop with .net MAUI and the Syncfusion components are regularly being added to, making the development process and ultimately the user experience much better .
  • Data grids
  • Popups
  • Excel integration
  • Better image processing
I would use the components instead of the default VS components when additional functionality or more visually appealing is required.

We develop software solutions and products. We especially deal with the application of artificial intelligence in business programs such as our Metric ERP and the new product Metric Copilot. In order to remain focused on solving essential tasks for our product, we use controls from other specialized companies. Among others, controls created by Syncfusion. Syncfusion controls significantly accelerated the creation of the user interface.
  • Blazor controls works fine.
  • Blog has good ideas
  • documentation is good
  • examples are useful
  • blazor toolbar control has some unexpected behavior
If we have a situation where we only use Syncfusion controls, usually the development of web applications goes according to the expected plan.
We mostly use controls to create a web user interface. The web user interface depends on css. It seems to me that most unexpected situations occur due to accidental or intentional use of several specialized css in the same project.

I`m a C# and WPF developer. I developed and maintain a small desktop application in which I use many Syncfusion products. The Syncfusion library is really great and fits perfectly with the requirements. Not only they are powerful and light, but they also have a beautiful modern design. In resume, all solutions from Syncfusion for WPF works perfectly for me and I recommend it to everyone
  • Provides well designed products
  • Is very easy to use
  • Fits nicely in almost any scenario
  • Improvement in some parts of the documentation
  • Adding some features to some WPF products
I really like Syncfusion products and I recommend it to everyone. It fits nicely in the scenario I use it, which is a C# and WPF application. I can`t tell much about other scenarios like Blazor or ASP, but I`m pretty sure it also fits nicely. The free license for developers or small business is so amazing that I can`t even describe, it`s just one of the best actions I`ve seen a company do, it`s just amazing and I just want to say thank you to Syncfusion. I wish other companies did the same.

I use the framework along the develop of an ERP system of the company. Many of the elements of Syncfusion Essential Studio Enterprise Edition are in the differente pages to get better functions to the user and for me, as a software developer, a great save of time to develop new requirements or changes.
  • The functionalities of the grids are very awesome. Withe then, the user interacts naturally with the system.
  • The support of the framework is one of the best and mora faster than I know, congrutalions for that.
  • I think one of the best options is the multiple versions to download. With that, it dose not matter what operation system or type of develop you are going to use, this framework is ver good.
  • I think the documentation. I fell that you can improve with more examples or another redaction.
  • Some of the controls slow the execution time in a considerable range.
  • I think you can do a video channel vitw practices or examples.
I think Syncfusion Essential Studio Enterprise Edition is very good in scenarios when you need to develop functions and you have not much time, and when the company has a server outside the company. On the other hand, when you have a server in the company or you have more time to develop, I think maybe the framework dose not fit well.

GUI Controls such as Datagrids<br>And create/read Microsoft Office Excel files and PDF files
  • Good GUI Controls
  • Good read/write access to Excel files and PDF files
  • Documentation is mediocre but support is good
Good for Winforms and probably good for Other frameworks but haven't done that yet
Good for a small team so that you can spend time doing your application logic not GUI controls

We use Syncfusion Essential Studio for RAD purpose. It has been used for Blazor and .NET Core Razor UI implementations. It really saved time on Web UI development. Additionally PDF &amp; EXCEL components saved time in back-end development as well.
  • Web UI Rapid Application Development
  • PDF Processing
  • EXCEL Processing
  • Shall they check thier pricing model?
Well Suited

  1. ASP.NET Blazor UI development
  2. ASP.NET Core Razor UI development
  3. PDF and EXCEL processing in .NET Core
Less Appropriate
  1. Old ASP.NET world like WebForm or MVC

Syncfusion help me with thier superb components for every possible .NET platform I'm currently using or I used in the past. I found very usefull packages like XlsIO to simplify work with Office documents and workbooks. Even for pre-released frameworks. I can mention early beta of Blazor components which helped us to prototype my new app even before it was officially released by Microsoft.

I appreciate their great support with very fast response times, detailed responses mostly contain working samples. In case a problem is confirmed, there are weekly builds as well as customer specific patches addressing the exact problem.
  • XlsIO - processing existing workbook in most historical formats, creating perfect application exports
  • WPF - enhanced components by very useful features, advanced components like Pivot table
  • Blazor - great for building web enterprise application
  • Documentation sometimes doesn't reflect latest version, lack of reference to used Nuget packages at all pages
Perfect for enterprise applications, worse might be in cases where application size or really high performance requirements are concern. In such cases these components blown with many features might be overkill.

We develop information systems for the World Wide Web so I specifically use Syncfusion Essential Studio Enterprise Edition versions for ASP.NET (Core) and JavaScript.
The products we develop are for other companies and address different types of problems. We have developed systems for:
  • Internal documents digitalization and make them available for external users based on user's privileges.
  • Control for trailer containers in a warehouse parking area of a import/export company.
  • Inventory control for items that an import/export company takes from USA to Mexico.
  • We are currently developing a software for a church to make content available to the general public (preaching messages, training classes, etc.)
  • We are taking a new project for analyzing Mexican invoices (known as CFDIs) and provide salaried employees with information about taxes in this country.
  • Extensive number of controls to build GUIs
  • Controls for web development are responsive out of the box
  • Controls have an extensive number of properties, methods and events
  • Easy integration
  • Controls include a lot of functionality
  • Easy to add specific functionality
  • For me, Syncfusion Essential Studio Enterprise Edition controls provide everything I need (and more).
I have used Syncfusion Essential Studio Enterprise Edition controls for all my projects for seven years, and it has perfectly suited to all of them. I do not have a scenario in my mind where such controls would not be appropriate, maybe because of the type of software products we have developed.

We use Syncfusion for the development of custom applications to support small to medium businesses in streamlining their work processes. Typically, we see businesses operating with spreadsheets and accounting software. We use the Syncfusion toolset to develop apps with greater user interface and system control.
  • Present database information in logical formats
  • Provide user interactive informational views
  • Provide consistent user experience across pages and applications
  • Most complex activities (beyond the out of the box examples) require a very extensive knowledge of javascript. This is not really a short coming of the product but rather a reality for the user who is trying to fully utilize the capabilities of the software.
When you need to build something quickly that involves data presentation and management, these tools are fantastic.

Simply Amazing Product they built and We are using the product and has reduced our development time. This has beautiful library of widgets which is helping to shape our vision of our product development.

We are using for business Dashboards presentation layer.
  • Gauge Library
  • Document Widgets like Spreadsheet display is exceptionally well
  • Chart Library
  • React Native Support
  • Gradient Options on the Widget
  • Dynamic Data change on data update (rather than refresh of data pages)
Some times we look at different library and see same options not availabe for example I see Windows library looks better view and same is not available in Javascript / React library base. So if there is any possibility to bring those options will be very very good

We use the Essential Studio for Development of customer centric Solutions mostly Web Based Blazor and ASP Core
  • We create all of our Word Documents with the DocIO Provider
  • We create customer ready excel Sheets with XLSIO
  • For the Lookand Feel we use the Components for ASp Core and Blazor
Based on our experience, we have found that we can confidently speak for smaller web projects as we have not encountered any significant issues during development. Despite the increasing size of the project, we have found that working with Syncfusion continues to be a successful and efficient approach.

The tool is used to provide a modern UI and UX in a new product line.
  • easy to use
  • supports binding well
  • weekly update cadence is excellent

Daily usage. Senior software developer. We use large parts like docking manager and many smaller parts from the Syncfusion Essential Studio Enterprise Edition libraries in our application. I selected your library into our company mostly because of good documentation and quite good support and update speed.
  • Documentation
  • Support
  • We really need you to focus better quality. Less bugs. They should slow down of creating new feature and pay attention into quality.
  • Less forced themes. More freedom for styling
Lot's of stuff. Now try to keep it working. Many times there are bugs (at the moment also). I updated into next main releases last version... dam new bugs. And there exist also one newer Main release. But I knew that there were also bug because I noticed and reported it and Syncfusion Essential Studio Enterprise Edition verified it. So that version wasn't possible to use yet at the time (but now it is fixed, althought I haven't tested it yet). But they need to improve quality of the product, in my opinion.

I consider syncfusion an amazing product that covers all the development needs of my company. Furthermore, the technical support is excellent in terms of professionalism, availability and courtesy. The answers to the various questions made to the technical support are resolved in a very short time and always with an optimal solution.
  • UI
  • PDF
  • Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • pdfviewer unify package for win, osx and linux
My experience has been excellent in all scenarios (design, development and technical assistance) and therefore to date the only thing I can say is to reiterate the need to unify the pdfviewer product package for win, osx and linux.
This would simplify the work for those who design and develop on win and have a production machine in the linux environment

As a UX Engineer, I am responsible for creating a Design System in coordination with our UX Designers. We bought Syncfusion Essential Studio Enterprise Edition to help us get quick access to a great chunk of components. Some we still need to create ourselves of course. We created our own theme based on Material that is applied on top of the Syncfusion Essential Studio Enterprise Edition components. Previously we had tried to create our own component library but we now appreciate the speed of using an existing component library. The documentation is mostly very helpful, sometimes some links don't work, but all in all, it's very easy to use and comprehensible. It is also very helpful to be able to view the source code which helps understand how some components work.
  • API Documentation
  • Demo Pages
  • Support
  • Sometimes links point to dead addresses in the documentation.
  • Some components have a difficult learning curve but that is usually due to the complexity of the control.
  • Minor version changes introduce breaking changes, for example updating from 20.1.x to 20.2.x gives us licensing errors, which in my opinion is a kind of breaking change as it requires all users to update their licenses.
  • Theming with CSS variables is not possible. Access to Theme Studio code is not possible. So a fully custom solution is needed to make Syncfusion Essential Studio Enterprise Edition components themeable with CSS variables.
It's generally fantastic to work with. Of course, we create custom styles, so if anyone wants to use a component that wasn't styled yet, that requires a one-time effort by someone, but that's a problem on our side. The documentation is generally very self-explanatory and I rarely get calls with questions concerning the (API) documentation of the components. It is well suited in general for larger businesses that wants to quickly write software without having to worry about having to write all the components. For a smaller business, however, or even individual users, it would be quite expensive (however I don't really know the pricing structures so I might be wrong here too!).

We are an ISV and we use [Syncfusion Essential Studio Enterprise Edition] in many modules of our software. It allows us to implement great UI without building it from scratch many times faster. Some components are very unique like Diagram and Pivot Grid and some other are standard like Grids but both cases work very well.
  • Unique component not easily found in other vendors like Diagram or Pivot Grid
  • Very good support when we need help
  • Easy royalty free licensing
  • Many platforms available
  • Always on the edge of new platforms
  • Better documentation
  • Publish all private support tickets for review of others by default unless the customer asks to be private
  • More samples
Every developer would benefit of having such a great collection of control suite [with Syncfusion Essential Studio Enterprise Edition].

We embedded Syncfusion into our platform as a data visualization tool. It is being used across the whole organization and can be viewed by all of our customers. We initially wanted to introduce the Syncfusion platform to our application as an "easy to set up and good looking data viewer". And as we go forward, we will be using Syncfusion as our main visualization tool.
  • Using to set up good looking visualization
  • Not so many dependencies are needed and it's easy to adjust when required
  • Great support platform
  • Not many widgets can be used
  • Certain versions of the dashboard service do not contain IIS setup, you need to install the previous version and upgrade
  • Limited designs can be implemented
When only a short time is allowed to implement and data is straightforward, Syncfusion is a great option. But the implementation needs some basic development skills, so when some non-tech colleague asks for it( which is highly demanded cause they are facing a client directly), it's hard for them to implement.

The platform was intended to be used to allow for a rapid development of widget-based information dashboards for presenting stats and other sorts of "widgitized" data in mobile and/or web applications. The requirement was basically to have the ability to mix and match a pre-defined set of widgets, that users would be able to configure. (did not go into effect, though).
  • Showing data in graphical form
  • The amount and types of charts/graphs that are available
  • The theme support could be better, but even so, the options available allow for good customization
  • The documentation. It lacks detail and real-world examples.
  • The theme support. It really could use some improvement in the easiness of customization
  • As always, there's room for improvement. Maybe allowing for a better experience in terms of mix and match data points on the graphs
When there is the need to rapidly show data and/or build a nice UI without having to build your own stuff. Let's say one needs to have a complete dashboard about some business streams or other KPI intensive system. Designing and implementing everything from scratch will take a huge amount of time. And a steep learning curve. Dashboard platform will help cut down those two timelines.
