What is Transportation Manager?

Transportation Manager is a web-based information system designed for transportation providers. According to the vendor, it offers a range of customizable products to meet the specific needs of each agency. The system includes features for client registration, trip reservations and scheduling, dispatching, trip billing, built-in reports, vehicle and driver tracking, vehicle maintenance, driver training, and more. Transportation Manager is suitable for transportation providers of all sizes, including both small and large agencies. It is utilized by transportation agencies, non-profit organizations, community action agencies, government agencies, and rural and urban transit providers.

Key Features

Auto Calling: The system sends automated phone calls to clients the night before their scheduled ride to reduce no-shows and late cancellations. If the call is unanswered, the system will attempt to reach the passenger at set intervals. On the day of the ride, passengers receive a call to alert them when the bus is en route.

Call Center: Veterans have access to a single 800 number that connects them to a central office to find transportation services. The call center can book rides and send them electronically to the transit agency providing services in the area.

Cloud Optimization: The system optimizes trips by assigning routes to the most suitable vehicle using cloud-based algorithms. Optimization can be done for next or same-day routes in scheduled increments of time. Rules can be applied to create efficient solutions.

Smart Cards / Fare Cards: Agencies can create pre-paid smart cards for clients. Cards are scanned when clients board the vehicle, and fares are deducted in real-time. Agencies have full control of the funds, minimizing issues in fare reconciliation.

Locate My Bus: A mobile app allows passengers to view details of their scheduled trips. Passengers can track the exact location of their bus on a live map. Parents can also track their child's location and pick-up/drop-off times.

Regional Coordination: Transit agencies can exchange information with partnering agencies through a live bulletin board. This enables resource sharing, assistance when capacities are reached, and seamless passenger transfers in overlapping areas.

Tablet Integration: Drivers use a tablet to access electronic manifests, log pre-trip inspections, and send messages to dispatch staff. Fleet managers receive exception notices, and dispatch can view pick-ups and drop-offs with a visual indicator.

Case Management: A web-based, comprehensive information system and management solution for Community Action Agencies. Clients can conveniently submit applications for assistance online from any smart device. The system allows tracking of clients, services, enrollment, outcomes, and generates various reports. It also offers electronic signature capability for home visits and document storage.
